Waste of money

I paid $79 for a warranty on a Nectar mattress through Mulberry. Mulberry sent me to the underwriter of the claim, which is Guardsman. My senior dog had an accident that soaked through my sheets, my waterproof pad, and the mattress cover down into the memory foam. I blotted the top part and it's dry, and all they're sending me is a cleaning kit. I can't clean stained memory foam. Nectar is not much better. Total waste of time and money

Absolute scam

Absolute scam – 5 months of delays, runaround and still no proper outcome

This warranty is an absolute scam and I would strongly caution anyone against purchasing it.

We bought the Guardsman warranty through Eureka in good faith, thinking we were paying for genuine protection. What we’ve experienced instead is a drawn-out, exhausting process that feels deliberately designed to avoid paying out legitimate claims.

We first lodged our claim in November 2025 and it is now nearly the end of March. Five months later we are still going back and forth. In that time I’ve sent at least 50 emails responding to their constant requests.

They just keep asking for more – more documents, more receipts, more photos. Every time you send exactly what they ask for, they come back with something else. It’s a clear pattern of dragging things out and hoping you eventually give up.

It’s honestly disgraceful.

After all of this, they’ve now come back and said they will clean 4 out of the 6 chairs. That’s completely unacceptable. The issue is mould, and you can’t just “clean” mould and mould spores out of fabric once it’s in there. These chairs were sold to us as UV and mould-resistant fabric, which has clearly failed, yet they’re offering a half solution that doesn’t fix the problem.

It’s a token gesture, not a proper outcome.

In our experience, this product is misleading and not fit for purpose. It’s sold as peace of mind, but when you actually need it, you’re left chasing them for months with no real resolution.

Eureka also needs to take some responsibility. They are happy to sell this warranty and take their cut, but when there’s a problem, they disappear and leave you to deal with Guardsman on your own. That’s not good enough.

At this point we’re beyond frustrated and pretty disgusted with how this has been handled. We’ll be taking this further with Australian Fair Trading.

Save your money. This warranty does not deliver what it promises.

We would never purchase this again and would strongly recommend others avoid it.

GOLDEN RIPOFF!!!!!!!!!

I would give A NEGATIVE but not available. I purchased the GUARDSMAN GOLD PLAN with my sectional from Haverty's to cover everything at a cost of $399.99. I filed an online claim on 2/23/26 when my recliner suddenly leaned back forward as far as it could and controls quit. I contacted Haverty's for procedures. On 3/06/26 I finally called Guardsman back and got to speak to a girl in India. She said a serviceman would contact me on 11th. Today was 11th and as of 8 pm. no one from Guardsman has ever contacted me by email or phone to give me the GOLD Service. Only Gold is what they take from you. Never ever buy anything with their name on it. RIPOFF!!!!!

False warranty. They are spam

They are scammers. I purchased a dining table, sofa chairs, and a couch from Adem furniture three years ago. I paid the full amount and also purchased a five-year warranty with Guardsman.

Recently, I had problems with my couch and dining table. According to my warranty, I submitted a claim. However, it took them more than four months just to respond, and they eventually told me that my claim was denied.

I called several times to ask for an explanation, but I received no help or clear answer. The customer service was very disappointing.

Based on my experience, I would recommend that others be very careful when buying from them.

Terrible

I had a terrible experience with this company. It took me weeks to submit my claim as their system did not accept the pictures I attached to my claims. When I finally got through to them they said the big tear on my couch was due to stress which is ridiculous as the stress is due to cheap fabric and craftsmanship which should be covered under warranty. I’ve used other warranty manufactures for past couches and they came in right away to fix ripped fabric due to stress no questions asked. Do not buy this warranty, it’s not worth your time or money.

Absolutely horrendous experience and scam

Absolutely horrendous experience. Reported stain - just a few months after purchasing their service with DFS sofa. It took me numerous conversations and numerous emails for 2 months!!! to get a technician getting in touch. Imagine if I spilled a coffee... of course I already cleaned the stain myself.

And now I am back and forth with them as I requested full refund for the 5 year service i paid for, based on initial experience and they classify that as me cancelling a service with them and charging me for that!!

So I spent substantial amount on pile of emails, numerous calls, zero service and stain NOT removed and they charged me for all of that. This is how they do business.

Shame on DFS that they are recommending service of that scam company.

If I could give a zero

If I could give a zero, I would. Bought new furniture from Havertys and bought the Gold Plan from Guardsman. Three claims made over various years but all denied for various reasons, one being egregious. Daughter spilled nail polish on desk. Made claim within 3 days. Took months but finally they sent someone to assess. He said he was too difficult to make repairs and that he would recommend replacement. Another month goes by, get an email stating that claim is denied due to improper usage. Next claim, son had a candle essential crack and it left a circular black burn mark on a white lacquer table. Same process. Serviceman eventually comes over after a couple of months and many phone calls. Says it’s too damaged for repair and will request a replacement. I said this happened before and they denied it. He said he will put in the notes specific things so it won’t get denied. Well, a month later, denied. Improper usage. And the worst of it all, my 80 lb Shepard mix had bladder cancer and died on my cream leather sectional. Literally hemorrhaged and fluids went into every nook and cranny. Made a claim the next day. They sent me a small bottle of stain remover and said try it and if that doesn’t work, to make the claim again otherwise they will assume it worked. Well, the 1.7 ounces of fluid didn’t work even on the small area it covered. I remade fhe claim. They denied it due to excessive wear and tear over time. I wrote multiple letters and escalated the claim, got no wear. Even had one customer service lady mock me on the phone when I explained that I understood that they don’t cover normal wear and tear but that this was not normal wear and tear, this was a large dog that died on it late at night. She repeated herself multiple times about reading the exclusions and how this was deemed excessive wear and tear. I repeated multiple times that I fully comprehended that but this wasn’t that and then she repeated herself about a sixth time, this time saying it slowly and loudly like Ma’am. THIS. IS. EXCESSIVE. WEAR. AND. TEAR. YOUR. CLAIM. IS. DENIED. DO. YOU. UNDERSTAND. ME. CLEARLY?. I hung up on her and reported her but of course it went no where. Not only a scam, but condescending, and unprofessional. There is nothing that they will cover. Nail polish spill. Denied because you improperly used a desk. Candle burn, denied because we improperly used a candle. Dog hemorrhages and dies, excessive wear and tear. Why have a plan? And then to be mocked just added insult to injury. You have a better chance of winning the lotto or rigged carnival games than dealing with this company.

Claim denied with no reason given. Just a sham company.

We bought 2 recliners from Havertys' in July 2023 and a Guardsman 5-year warranty. A spring failed and we submitted a claim. Like all the other reviews, Guardsman has been using several stall tactics. Two days ago, we received a letter from them saying our claim was denied for the reasons below: Yup! No reason was given. Just denied. Hard to believe Havertys' has been promoting their "Gold Plan" protection plan.

Do not buy this warranty it’s a scam

Do not buy this warranty it’s a scam. We were sold this warranty by DFS tried to claim twice and have been rejected. First time was due to the seams fraying and discolouring the second claim is because the usb port stopped working on one of the sofas. They will try everything to get out of coming out to repair.

Waste of $$$$

I normally skip extended warranties, but we bought one for this white sofa to protect against accidents. When the seam ripped, our claim was denied. We wasted $300 on coverage that appears designed to deny claims so they can keep your money.

DO NOT BUY INSURANCE FROM THEM!!

Horrendous experience! My parent's spent over £2000 on a sofa from DFS and they took out the Guardsman insurance as advised my DFS.
Problems occurred 2 months after purchasing the sofa with the recliners failing to work properly, sinking cushions and stains even though it had been stain guarded. After being instructed by DFS, they diverted the issue to be rectified by Guardsman. After chasing several times there was an extremely.long wait fo the repair (6 montjs), which didnt happen as the fabric was the wrong.colour and they refused to fix the mechanism and said to.go back.to DFS who said it was Guardsman to undertake the repair! What a shambles and no help whatsoever! My.parent are nearly 80 years old and they have beem so stressed out and used all their savings for it. I am disgusted! After nearly 9 months of chasing, Guardsman admitted that they couldn't repair/fix it and offered a measly £150 compensation last October and guess what, NOTHING!!! PLEASE DONT BOTHER BUYING THEIR INSURANCE, THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS!!!!

I feel I have been completely mis-sold…

I feel I have been completely mis-sold this insurance by Guardsman and DFS. I submitted a genuine claim for a malfunctioning switch on November 3rd 2025 only to receive a final rejection on the 5th January 2026 and to make things more difficult they told me if I wasn't happy with their decision to contact the Ombudsman. I wish I had read the reviews on Trust Pilot before making this mistake. I urge others not to do the same. It goes without saying I will never take out extra Guardsman cover or purchase any items from DFS in the future.
