Cajamar insurance 26/03/2026 and still ongoing

3 weeks ago I opened a claim with cajamar bank insurance via a email, after hearing nothing from them in 2 weeks I phone them and was told they had no record of a claim so gave me another one. They sent a ( inspection person ) to my property and he took photos of the damage I was claiming for , after this he said the bank would send a architect.... I asked him what was the point in him coming then, he replied that it was procedure! And that I would get a call later that day to arrange the architects visit... No call. I phoned and emailed the insurance company again this morning and asked why they were not replying to my emails , whereupon they said i am sending mail to tge wrong address, I gave them the email address provided and they confirmed it was the correct one but had no answer to why I hadn't been answered to. I asked them if they had received my photos of the damage? They had she said, and the department would mail me immediately, 6 hours later... no mail. After phoning the cajamar bank at least 20 times , from having the phone put down on me to being told they would call me back within the hour( No call back ) I have sent emails to to the insurance complaint department, they replied saying, the insurance company will contact me within the hour by email.... No email.... A shambles of a company with people answering my calls with ignorance and total lack of respect gor me the paying customer.

I’m sorry to say I have had many…

I’m sorry to say I have had many problems with this bank for at least 6 years since I’ve been in Spain. I thought it was my fault because though my Spanish enables me to express myself, ( apart from a lot of technical jargon which is international anyway in computer science), I am not at ease with Castilliano when trying to understand my interlocutor. But the problems I have had cannot just be due to that. I have made a lot of effort to explain in both languages in Conecta and even in the bank itself but I always run into problems if one sort or another. There seems to be a lack of communication between different services. For example, I don’t know how many times I have tried to register the number of my residence permit but it is not recognised when I’m asked for an ID other than my NIE. And my queries on Conecta are only half answered. Some have helped some not.
I can’t go into all the challenges I’ve faced. Unfortunately I can’t change banks because I receive twice yearly dividends from UK and the lawyers have specifically asked me not to change banks.
I will have to as I plan to migrate to the USA this year. I read the previous review of this bank and I’m convinced now that most of my difficulties do not stem from my ignorance, lack of technical skills or misunderstanding of the way their App functions especially since AI. Yes my age may have something to do with it but I’m not yet suffering from the stereotypical problems of old age!

Having just read many more reviews of this bank and it’s shortcomings, I consider my review to be very SOFT compared to all the stress it has caused me and it has affected other people to whom I tried to transfer money but was unable to finalise the operations because I couldn’t sign with my FirmaMovil! I decided to type out all my difficulties and all their illogical
indifference in perfect Spanish to make sure I was well understood and to visit the bank in person to hand it over to be read.
In 6 years I have encountered only one empathetic employee and it was mainly due to her kindness that we made any headway. They change their ‘cashiers’ regularly and you’re very lucky if you happen to fall upon a helpful caring one. There is much more to add but I think that’s enough for now.!

Again, abysmal customer service

First time, Cajamar refused to help with fraud on my credit card even after denouncing them they refused to help. Yesterday I went to use the ATMS at Cajamar in Turre. Yet again both were down. I entered the bank to be met with the most rude unhelpful staff member who told me to go use the ATM at a different bank close by, but it charges for withdrawals for non customers. I asked to draw money from my account inside the bank and was told that they wouldn’t do that for. I explained that I had no money and needed it right away. She then switched to Spanish, was very rude and said it wasn’t her problem but mine. I left the bank upset and frustrated. We are now going to find another bank and withdraw all our Money to a new bank. Disgusting customer service and lack of customer focus. Do not use Cajamar.

Online Banking App

the Online Banking App for this modern day bank is hopeless, constantly crashing/reloading/crashing, and therefore unfsafe to use for payments. This is not acceptable in 2025, the whole app needs reviewing by an appropriate organisation, rewriting, and made available to us customers as soon as possible! I see many are voting with their feet, and despite having banked with cajamar for over 20 years, I will be next!

Worst Customer service ever

I have two investments and a commitment to pay €1000 into my account, which I also have a €1000 balance at any given time.
I have now been charged a service fee. I met with my bank's manager, who assured me he would investigate and get back to me.
I have also emailed subsequently to no avail. The customer service is shocking, to say the least. I will be voting with my feet and. moving banks.

Useless bank

Useless bank, with excessive charges?!!!
If you don’t wish to pay your salary etc… into the Cajamar bank monthly, they will charge you 20€ per month and then at least 30€ for each debit card.
Diabolical bank and their app is useless. Do yourself a favour and use another bank.

If you look at the reviews it is very obvious this bank has no customer service idea at all. Finally after three years I have managed to close an empty account and only then with a Spanish rep attending with my power of attorney in a branch. This bank are stuck in the 1950s and have no idea how to treat customers or their accounts and they treat customers with disdain and show no respect.

Absolutely terrible

Absolutely terrible. The bank cancelled the house insurance after it wad raised with no notification. Was just told to go to app but the app is absolutely useless. If you can go to absolutely any other bank please do

Ever tried to make a card claim from this bank

Some time back I tried to claim a refund off a scam company but the incompetence of the staff and there rubbish web software i lost 250 euros, i complained to the local bank even took them all the forms in but nothing was done. i was sent an email to send in some details but when sent the emails were just returned as an error, now the same thing is happening again i even went into local bank but they just shrug shoulders and dont do anything. and there chat line is totally useless. i dont know who writes there web software but they need lessons as it locks up and says contact local bank then we go round in circles again. Also they seem to be predudice against
English people if you make a complaint they ignore it.

My 86 year old mother has been left…

My 86 year old mother has been left stranded in Australia penniless for almost 8 weeks, because an ATM swallowed her bank card.Despite a multitude of emails and phone calls, no-one has come to her aid in changing her mobile number on her profile, so that she can verify payments when trying to do an International Transfer. If I wasn't here to help her finance her holiday, she probably have starved to death.

Terrible bank Cajamar!

Terrible! Have Cajamar Fuengirola, when you can't login and ask for help ...if anybody even answer your red flagged emails, the answer is " pop by" ! They know I live in Sweden. I have had this problem with Cajamar for over 3 years. In November, I found out that no transactions had happened for 6 weeks. I was told, no you have not filled in the KYC form, so we blocked your account!!! NO INFORMATION ABOUT THIS! I have everything in autogiro so this has caused me a lot of problems!

SMS code- FirmaMovil never received

I am based in Dubai. It has been more than one year since I am explaining to Cajamar executives that I am not receiving any SMS message on my mobile phone with the necessary code to activate the FirmaMovil. Therefore I am not able to do any online transactions. I have other accounts with other banks and no one single problem. I will shutdown my account there once in Spain and move to a serious bank

Outrageous Charge

I recently transferred 800,000 (€21,100) Thai Baht from Thailand to my A/C at Cajamar. They asked me for certain documents to be provided within a short time after they received the money and have the docs. translated by a certified translator into Spanish or they would return the money to my Thai bank. I could not provide the docs. required in such a short time and they returned the money (which I received 3 weeks after sending it). Unfortunately, the amount they returned was €750 short of the €21,100 I originally sent them. The only explanation I could manage to get from them for this loss was that it was the "Swift" fee. I have since asked for a "breakdown" of that cost but a week later have still not received it..

The worst bank ever?

International Transfer to a Recipient in Banco Cajamar. At first a week long denial there would be a transaction. The opposite was easily proofed thanks to the support of the sending bank.
Then, to hide their incompentency, they declined the transaction and took a decent fee and used there internal exchange rate. A the end the money was returned 9 days later but 100 £ less. Great Buisness concept! Just a bunch of criminals - do not ever deal with that bank.

DO NOT give your £ Sterling cash to…

DO NOT give your £ Sterling cash to CAJAMAR BANK in Spain for exchange into € euros. They took our £’s cash and then told us we had to wait 1 month for them to be exchanged. We wasted hours arguing with them. They would not give me my £ Sterling back. After nearly 2 weeks arguing we eventually got the € euros. Absolutely terrible service!!! AVOID CAJAMAR CAJA RURAL BANK

The Cajamar Garcia Llorca is where i…

The Cajamar Garcia Llorca is where i was treated bad humiliated for i was told out loud so that everyone can hear i have very little money in my account and whats my job?
I came for asking help as i cannot do transactions online while they forced clients to download the app which is totally impossible to get tru it very very complicated. but instead i got the mockery and then i was told i am not having an account in Garcia llorca branch because i opened in Calahonda way back 8 years ago but i am now a resident of Arroyo de la Miel for 4 years. So in that sense she seems hesitant to help me with my issues over cajamar app banking online and she did not either resolve anything of it. And to use the app you need to waste your whole day to install problem occured please reinstall, then when you login message appear please check code to your SMS then you go to your SMS then message appear sessions timed out please login in again. So using mobile to do all this at once your whole day is like wasted, what a joke indeed, totally frustrated!
