Grow is one of the better Credit Unions

We've had accounts with Grow for 5 years and have been pleased. While local banks seem to charge fees for all kinds of transaction, low balance, Grow Financial does not. There was no fee when a check I had deposited was returned. I can keep a low balance at Grow if I want and not be charged a fee. Sending money to my investment account (at a brokerage) or other local bank via ACH is quick and free, where my other local bank wants to charge $3.00 per outgoing ACH.

They seem to have modern technology for their app, and loans (auto) have been approved quickly.

They have been helpful on the rare instances I've had to go into a branch.

Don't know how to treat people

Took out a car loan because the dealership gave me a deal for using their lender. I have a high 800s credit score and had it on autopay. So no late payments. Today I get a letter stating that I don't have insurance on my car. I have had full coverage since the day I drove it off the lot. I called finally got a human (Foreigner.) Who before I could even fully explain started threatening to buy insurance on my behalf for a 2k premium! All 3 of my cars and 2 motorcycles cost less than 1k to insure. I won't be threatened so as soon as I transfer the funds from Savings to checking I am going to pay it off...I'll be damn if I'm going to pay anymore interest to them!

DO NOT INVEST IN A COMPANY WITH BAD PEOPLE!

I humbly believe the manager at the Weasley Chapel is totally unfit to run that branch. He is a bad person with no people skills whatsoever and even worse: absolutely zero common sense.

I went in yesterday to ask permission to cut 7” (seven inches!) of a branch from a tree on their grounds for Bonsai. Incredibly told the secretary “no” (I could see him behind the glass in his burrow). He didn’t have the courtesy to mimic an “I am sorry” through the glass, he did not even lift his head, or come out of the hole with some excuse like “I am so sorry but I cannot make a reasonable decision on such a strange request because my supervisors cannot trust my judgment or common sense… I only invest money for my clients”. I would have understood that.

Why he denied such a simple request remains a conundrum to me. He may no like a well-dressed 70-year-old smiling white man walking into “his” branch with another purpose than bringing money. God knows…

If I had an employee like that in my business I'd fire him on the spot for lacking the most basic people skills, a total lack of common sense and a clear proclivity to random acts of unnecessary wickedness.

I had 6 large flowering Flamboyant trees that I planted myself in front of my house in Largo. It would never cross my mind to deny anybody a cutting of those trees that I loved. I sold the house 2 years ago and I still miss those trees.

That 7” cutting (which actually would have been great for the tree because stimulates branching and more branching implies more flowers) I am sure will cost the company at least 2 or 3 investors: nobody deals with bad-hearted people, and nobody would put hard-earned money in the hands of someone with no common sense and a clear inclination to wickedness.

If the average client deposits in the company $ 5,000.00 (very conservatively) and they lose let's say just 2 clients per posting, my three postings will cost the company $ 30,000.00 (without counting my $ 5,000.00 either).

The most expensive 7” ever and another 1-star review that this company certainly does not need.
