I purchased the Ombre Microblading deal through Groupon for £122.49 at Sol Cosmedics in London. I want to start by saying that Hina was very skilled, professional, and did a beautiful job wit... See more

Two purchases, two missed experiences.
On two occasions now I've bought Groupon offers and on both occasions I haven't been able to use them. A while back I purchased a Bannatynes Groupon voucher for my partners birthday. He attempted to use the code at our local Birmingham branch and was refused with the company saying the code wasn't valid. I lost the money for this as Groupon said that the code had been used, when it clearly had not.
Recently I purchased a Narrowboat day boat hire that expires in May. Upon ringing the company they informed me that they only accept one Groupon voucher a week... And there's no space until after May when the code expires. Groupon failed to mention this quite silly limitation and therefore I have luckily been able to receive a refund this time.
I find Groupon has been quite misleading and not advertising products that can be used. I will likely not be using the website again.
one word - excellent
excellent value for money - bought Microsoft Office for Mac via voucher. Used Groupon first time and everything went like a charm (touch wood).

Engaging teacher lead the session well and helped save potential failures too. Very enjoyable but rushed at the end as needed more time to paint and decorate.

I do not recommend this treatment with Maxi Aesthetics because their advertising is misleading, poor value for money and poor experience.
I do not recommend this treatment with Maxi Aesthetic and their advertising on Groupon is misleading. The lady was kind and apologetic, but the HIFU machine is old version, the beauty room felt unhygienic I.e, I was asked to sit on an uncovered beauty chair in my underwear, later to stand. For them to charge what they do for 10-20 minutes treatment, 10 mins for 1 body part (front of thighs) and 15-20 for the face+neck, claiming their charge to be a discounted price is a straightforward robbery, and cheating people of their money for nothing. Plus - disappoint and disbelief that anyone would dare do this at the day and age of social media. I will be asking for refund.
Absolutely brilliant
Absolutely brilliant. The price was phenomenal, the instructions were very clear and I downloaded and installed everything very quickly. I had one minor issue , post installation which I contacted the team about and it was resolved incredibly fast. I'm very happy with the software and how it operates and also the support offered. Highly recommend.
Poor Customer Service
First order on Groupon: I didn’t receive a coupon and had to go through a long process with customer service to finally get it. They initially claimed my payment had been cancelled, even though I had already been charged. It took quite some time for them to acknowledge this, but they eventually confirmed the issue and sent the coupon.
Now, I’ve tried several times to make another purchase on Groupon, but my payments keep getting cancelled. I contacted customer service again, and they suggested it might be a system issue and advised me to try again. Unfortunately, I’ve done that multiple times and still face the same problem.
I’m very disappointed, as I currently need several services and was hoping to use Groupon.
Joanna was fantastic
Joanna was fantastic, friendly, attentive, and highly professional throughout the entire session. She took the time to explain the cryolipolysis process clearly, made sure I was comfortable at every stage, and answered all my questions with confidence and care.
The machine she used was brand new, which made the experience feel even more reassuring and effective. Everything was clean, well-organised, and handled with great attention to detail.
Overall, a very positive experience, I would definitely recommend Joanna to anyone considering this treatment.

Groupon's Very Poor Customer Experience
I have returned to buying and using Groupon deals until last night. When the website refused to accept my legitimate postcode as part of my billing address.I have been trying to resolve this for 24 hours. Very disappointing and frustrating.

Groupon is a scam
Groupon is a scam, do not use it!
At best it is a hit and miss. Half the deals purchased do not exist, have ceased to exist or do not match the description advertised on this website.
From my experience, this is the trick: customers purchase vouchers which cannot be redeemed (for various reasons, I will give my examples later) and are forced to ask for a refund. Groupon found ways to avoid giving refunds using different techniques. The most obvious one is to push customers to accept credits (‘bucks’) rather than reverse charges to visa cards or other methods of payment. By doing this, they save transaction costs and force you to purchase more unredeemable coupons on their website… Groupon, if you google it, was already brought to justice in the UK a few years ago for refusing to process refunds. Despite this, their old business model doesn’t appear to have changed much.
In the last dealing with their ‘customer service’, they outright claimed that my Coupon was non-refundable when the voucher clearly stated otherwise. Bear in mind, under UK law, consumers have strong rights to refunds, primarily governed by the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (for goods/services quality) and Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (for online/distance sales). Key rights include a 30-day "right to reject" faulty goods for a full refund, and a 14-day "cooling-off" period for online, phone, or mail-order services. So they are basically breaking the law.
In short, my best advise is.
1 – Shop elsewhere. There are much better deals eslewhere!
2 – If you are entitled to a refund, ask to get paid back to your original form of payment. Do not accept ‘bucks’ .
3 – When they refuse to refund you, file a claim with your financial institution or Payal etc. as you are legally entitled to one.
Type of issues I encountered with 3 (out of 6 coupons) I bought:
- Vendor not reachable.
- Services or Goods do not match description, or the price becomes higher than advertised when I visited the merchant.
- Vendor refused coupon I purchased because Groupon was not paying her.
Playing Russian Roulette with your Shopping
Failure of Groupon checkout system appears to request re-entering payment details and actually generates duplicate customer charges. Is this a deliberate scam? because Groupon have dozens of excuses why they cannot resolve this error and refuse to refund under their 14 day refund scheme. Groupon may have some cheap software offers but they are not worth the risk of having to deal such a poor company when things inevitably go wrong. Do not use this company.
just another software scam
package was not redeemable this should have been checked before release
It's Good
Pretty good deals available on Groupon, not a major difference in discounts but satisfactory. Groupon in general is easy to use and a great website.
First time using them - took my money and didn't give anything in return
First time using them. Bought a voucher for Toby Carvery for the same day but was refused at the restaurant due to it being a Saturday (didn't notice the Mon-Fri restriction on purchase). Fine I thought I'd just use the voucher a different time. When I went to look today it had expired and 2 chat agents separately told me that was my fault to let it expire. It was 2 months since buying/redeeming. So Groupon UK has taken my money for a voucher which wasn't used with an expiry date far too short and then despite just taking free money from me wasn't willing to provide any good will to generate a new voucher code for use. I am not saying this isn't my fault - admittedly I was unfamiliar with Groupon bits and should have paid closer attention, but giving the lack of care for their customers will be immediately cancelling my account after a single transaction from which I got nothing.
Terrible if you're trying to get a refund
Running around in circles trying to get a refund from Groupon. Claim they didn't take payment when it's clearly showing up in my bank account! Customer service unhelpful and just realised how hard it is to submit a complaint. No actual process. It's a nightmare.
