A Boutique Experience for Independent Artists

Groover stands out because it doesn’t feel like a mass-market submission platform. The experience has a real boutique quality to it. One of the things that impressed me most is the level of care and accessibility from the team. If you have questions during the process, they’re responsive and available, so you’re not left hanging trying to figure things out on your own.

Another strong point is the range of curators on the platform. There’s a wide selection across genres and territories, which gives independent artists real opportunities to find curators who genuinely fit their music.

Overall, Groover combines a professional system with a surprisingly personal level of attention, something that’s rare in music promotion platforms. In platforms, period.

TECHNICAL THEFT: 49.50€ taken (PayPal ID: 8UF873997V931341T) but campaign DELETED!
Review Text:
"This is an absolute disgrace and a total lack of professional support. Yesterday afternoon, I paid 49.50€ to launch the campaign for my single 'Leave Me And Stay Away'. The PayPal transaction was successful (ID: 8UF873997V931341T), but Groover’s system threw a technical error, took my money, and COMPLETELY DELETED my campaign.

I spent time researching and hand-picking 21 specific curators, and now all that work is gone. I’ve been waiting on your live chat since 08:30 AM this morning with ZERO response, despite your '1-hour' reply promise.

You are holding my funds hostage and sabotaging my release window. I demand an immediate credit of the 49.50€ to my account and the restoration of my curated list. This is no way to treat independent artists who invest their own hard-earned money.

"I finally managed to get a response from a human being only after posting this Trustpilot review. However, their answer was disappointing: I was told I’d have to wait even longer because their relevant team is based in the US.

This is unacceptable. It’s not my problem if their team is in a different time zone; I’ve already wasted over 24 hours since yesterday at lunch. In more than 20 years of using the internet, this is the first time I've been charged for a service that simply failed to start.

AFTERNOON UPDATE

At this point, I’ve decided I want nothing more to do with Groover. I have officially requested to delete my account and I am now proceeding through a PayPal dispute to get my refund. Their lack of efficiency and transparency is a deal-breaker for any independent artist."
LEAVE AND STAY AWAY...

REPLY TO THE MERCHANT

I'm sorry, but you've made one mistake after another. Leaving aside yesterday's glitch and the money deducted for nothing, this morning I waited four hours for a reply in the chat, even though it says “within an hour” at the top. After four hours, you gave me a nonsensical reply and then disappeared again, until I opened a dispute with PayPal. Then you came back, only to tell me that I would have to wait some more. For me, this level of service is unacceptable, and PayPal probably thinks so too, since they accepted my request within a few hours. Happy ending.

FINAL REPLY TO MERCHANT

Thank you for the clarification. You have been very fair in this regard, and I appreciate it. I would like to point out that, as I explained above, it was not so much the mistake itself that caused me to react in this way, but rather the poor quality, in my opinion, of the customer service system. Thank you very much for the happy ending, and I apologise for the misunderstanding about PayPal.

Hi Daniel, I'm really sorry for this situation. We indeed had a technical glitch when you launched your campaign on Sunday. Our support team isn't available all weekend, and on Monday we have to catch up with all the weekend requests which explains the slight delay here. Today (on Monday) we were ready to fix the issue, recover your entire campaign, submit it and compensate you for the situation, but it seems you had already deleted your account, filed a dispute with PayPal and written this delightful review, all within 24 hours (Sunday included).

I must admit it's disappointing, I understand your lack of patience and your frustration, but it's really a shame that you couldn't wait a little more on the first business day following your issue for this situation to be fixed, despite our answers telling you that this would be entirely taken care of. I just issued a full refund. Good luck with your music project, and we're available if you'd like to try using Groover again.

UPDATE: PayPal didn't "agree with you". Since you had deleted your account, I voluntarily and manually settle the dispute with a full refund since you didn't even want the situation to be fixed. So it seems we were the source of this "happy ending". Who would have thought? PayPal never settles disputes in less than 3-5 days, which is still a decent support time. You left us only 1 day and couldn't wait more. That's your choice, but please don't think the whole planet acts the same. This is the first ever time in 8 years that we have a customer who escalates to this level in less than 24 hours, moreover after initiating their campaign on a Sunday. I don't know what more to say, but I hope that our future users will behave like almost all the previous ones except you when this kind of situation happens. We're more than sympathetic, we fix things, and we compensate the users for the issues that happen. Unfortunately, there was not enough time for you to witness this.

Disappointing.

Their genre match is absolutely deceiving and the overall benefits are ridiculously negligible for the price paid. (50 dollar investment translating into about a 100 additional streams which translate into 30 cents of revenue for the artist on spotify for a quality track.) The culprit of it all is that you apparently can even get your track approved by curators on the platform that just vanish into thin air afterwards without sharing your track as they claimed.

RE to your reply: As I already indicated, one share was categorized as a share in the system but WAS NEVER shared and I have a proof of this. After contacting both the curator and groover nothing changed.

Hi Victoria, I'm really sorry you had this experience of Groover. I can see you contacted 11 curators in your latest campaign, received 9 answers in the 7-day campaign, including 3 approvals that were all shared. I'm not sure what you mean by them not sharing your track after approving it?

This is quite a decent performance, since our overall average acceptance rate is 25%. It's true though that it's difficult to see a real uplift with only 10 contacts, we see a real difference when artists start contacting over 30/50 contacts. It's a different budget for sure.

It's important to take into account the potential ripple effect of these streams that come from completely new listeners: saves, personal playlist adds, additional plays, potential new followers etc. to measure the full impact, rather than a direct "ROI" which will always be a disappointing analysis. If you're looking for direct ROI, then I don't recommend you use any playlist/promotion service, as you may end up on shady/scammy websites that guarantee plays that will all be produced by bots. However, it's true you didn't reach out to our Certified Spotify playlists, so the playlists you reached out to have a lower impact on releases. The certified playlists are also more selective, so it's always a balance to find.

We'd be happy to help you target curators that are likely to have more impact on your release in case they approve it. Feel free to email us on support [a] groover . co

PS: regarding your reply, can you write directly to me about this: dorian [a] groover . co ?

Absolutely dreadful service.

Absolutely dreadful service.

Paid for a submission and got a generic, copy-paste rejection that claims to “focus on deep house” — yet my song is deep house. That alone tells you they do not listen to anything properly. There was zero meaningful feedback — no mention of production quality, arrangement, mix, nothing musical at all. Just a lazy template.

This platform is basically a pay-to-ignore service. You hand over money and get auto-generated replies that prove curators aren’t invested in actually reviewing your music. It’s insulting, wasteful, and not worth the fee.

Totally unacceptable for a service that claims to help artists. Until they fix their broken system and ensure real people actually listen and respond, I wouldn’t trust this with any release.

Got placement in 2+1 playlists for 50 EUR

Got placement in 2 playlists and one promise to be placed within 30 days. My campaign costed me 50 EUR. Some Groover ad tells that the same results can be reached for about 100 EUR. Got feedbacks from about 13 curators from 21 curators I had total. Luckily, 4 curators didn't reply with feedbacks and I saved 4 opportunities to contact new curators but having more experience on what to put in the message after getting more knowledge on their playlists.

Transparent platform with real curators and clear feedback

I’ve used Groover multiple times to promote my music (reggae / alternative rock, Spanish-language).

What I value most is the transparency of the system. You know exactly who you’re pitching to, you receive guaranteed feedback, and responses are professional and respectful.

Not every submission results in placement (which is normal), but when it works, it connects you with curators who actually listen and engage.

It’s a solid tool for independent artists who want structured outreach instead of sending blind emails.

Professional, clear, and worth testing if you’re serious about growing your audience.
