Don't understand people's reviews on…

Don't understand people's reviews on these lmao , I hung a TV, sky glass 65 inch on the brown 93kg grip it plasterboard plugs they have stayed amazing the TV hasn't budged one bit , the plugs are as good as the guilty of plater board your applying them to so if you have damp or mould of cheap plaster board maybe results would be different I've had nothing but success for years with these plugs if installed correctly there is no issue at all

Dangerous

The weight capacity of these is no where near what they advertise, we had a 40kg radiator, secured by 4 of their blue 113kg fixings, fall on a small child, personally I think these are a very dangerous product and should be taken off the market.

Terrible fittings

Terrible fittings, would never use again. Hung a light using these as they state they can take up 113kg in loads and 3 weeks later the light has fallen out the ceiling and smashed. Waste of money that’s cost me money

Absolutely usless product

Gripit Self Drive plasterboard fixings........Complete waste of time and money. This is a non functional product that just doesn't work. They do not self drive and cannot be started without drilling a pilot hole of at least 10mm, even then, the minute they hit the tiniest bit of resistance the inner bit just crumbles and they wont bite any further into the plaster board and you just end up with dirty great big holes in the board that have to be filled. To actually get one fully into the wall I had to drill a 10mm hole, drive it in about 2mm with a screw driver until it bit then use a pair of grips to turn the who fitting to get it to bite into the board and had to do this up until the point where the grips couldn't grip onto the fixing and only then use a screw driver to get it to sit flush with the wall...used about 8 fixings to get just one into the wall. gave up after that being as I had another 7 to do and wasn't going to waste my day faffing about with this rubbish

Poor product -

Poor product. Unlike dryline boxes which clamp the wall when you screw them up, these butterfly wings on these don't clamp as you tightend resulting in a loose fitting. These were used on 12.5mm plasterboard walls. One of the fittings tore throught the plasterboard and gave way on a 40Kg load, dispite these being rated at 71Kg

Grip-it Green - don't work as promoted.

Bought the Gripit green fixings for plasterboard (Auckland NZ) and the cam starts rotating before the base screw has fixed into the plasterboard/Gib-board. The only way to make it work is to pre-drill the hole to 8-10mm to allow the white exterior thread to bite and lock, before introducing the screw of choice.

Garbage product do not buy

Garbage! I used the green ones and they cam out before they screw in. Even with a large pilot hole (which instructions say you dont need) they cam out, I have tried on 5 different holes now and have destroyed 5 of them on each hole before they screw in properly. Seem ok once installed but what a bad product. !!

So expensive and yet so rubbish.

Arrrrrrrgh so expensive and they don't work. Toolstation had run out of 'normal' plasterboard fixings so I splashed out about £16 on these. I am pretty handy at DIY and could not get them to work. Awful and overcomplicated. Now I need to spend more money getting proper, simple fixings...and need to work out how to fill the large holes I had to drill for these ones. Bugger.

I wish I could them a zero.

I wish I could them a zero.
I used them to fix a radiator to the wall, they lasted 6 months and tonight the radiator came crashing to the floor.
They just do not work, they pulled straight out of the wall wrecking the plasterboard.
Do not waste your time or money, the radiator could have killed my dog if it had fallen on him.
These are dangerous and should be taken off the market.

Only limited success with these..

Only limited success with these..
Most new builds are dab and daub plasterboard.
If you drill into a section of daub, then the wings are obstructed and cannot open...
Similarly, if you drill into a section that is double boarded then the fixing cannot expand!
In either case you don't know what is going to happen until you have drilled a relatively large 25mm hole.
Been fitting for 30 years and not impressed.

Probably a good product. Didn't get to find out.

Placed an order with Gripit.

Nine days later received an email from them to say the goods had been returned by the courier as undeliverable, and asking for an alternative address. Should you no longer require the goods, please let us know etc.

I live in a residential property that is straightforward to find, not off the beaten track or hidden away.

I replied immediately to say the goods were still required, no attempt at delivery had been made, no card had been left, and no problems had been experienced with deliveries to this address from other couriers.

No reply, but it wasn't unreasonable to assume the re-sending of the order had gone ahead.

SIX DAYS LATER, received an email to say the goods were about to be dispatched (15 days after the order had originally been placed, six days after I had replied to say that I still wanted it), and that, if this delivery attempt wasn't successful, I would be charged for any further attempt.

I cancelled the order.

That is my experience of Gripit, and of their approach to customer service, trying to order a product I had previously been raving about to anyone prepared to listen.

I emailed a copy of this review to Gripit prior to posting, thus:

I would like to ask please if you would like to take a look at the draft review below, to check it for any inaccuracies, or unfair maligning of Gripit, or have any other comments, before I post it this evening? It seems only fair for Gripit to have that opportunity.

I am posting this the following day, having received no reply.
