Awful app
Awful app. Can't do anything for ads popping up. Now, for the last week my account has been blocked for no reason. Tried contacting them but no reply. I've now gone on to scruff app. Fab. Unlimited profile viewing and it's free. Think grindr has had its day.
Dear Grindr Support Team
Dear Grindr Support Team,
I am writing respectfully to request a careful reconsideration of the device-level ban applied to my account, which I sincerely believe resulted from a misunderstanding or an erroneous report.
I am 21 years old and a medical student, and I have always used Grindr responsibly and in good faith, exclusively to meet people and socialize. I have never offered sexual services, nor have I used the platform for any paid or illicit activity. On the contrary, I have often received inappropriate proposals suggesting paid encounters, all of which I have consistently declined.
Despite this, my account — and apparently my entire device/IP — was permanently banned without clear evidence being presented, without prior warning, and without an effective opportunity to clarify the situation. I respectfully feel that this outcome does not reflect my conduct or intentions on the platform.
What concerns me most is the scope and permanence of the device-level ban, which feels disproportionate given the circumstances. This measure has caused practical and financial consequences, including limiting my ability to sell my iPhone 15 Pro Max, as a future owner would be unable to use the application due to an issue that was not caused by me.
Beyond the material impact, this situation has also caused emotional distress, as being associated with such a serious allegation is deeply upsetting, particularly when it is unfounded. I believe that transparency, proportionality, and the opportunity for review are principles valued under both Brazilian consumer protection laws and U.S. standards of fair business practices, which emphasize reasonableness and good-faith dispute resolution.
For reference, the ban code displayed on my account is:
17EA085A-C4C8-4D79-A5EC-F373FBA6182F
I would like to emphasize that I have already completed the official ban appeal form and followed all recommended procedures in good faith. Unfortunately, these efforts have not yet led to a resolution, which is why I am kindly requesting an additional review.
In light of the above, I respectfully ask for:
1. A thorough and fair re-evaluation of my case;
2. The removal of the device/IP ban, if applicable;
3. A clear explanation of the basis for the decision.
I would greatly appreciate it if a member of your team could contact me directly to discuss this matter or request any additional information that may assist in resolving the issue.
My sincere hope is to resolve this matter amicably and administratively, and I truly appreciate your time and attention to this request. I look forward to your response and sincerely hope for a positive outcome.
Kind regards,
Gustavo Maia
I think this app is nothing but a…
I think this app is nothing but a negative and judgmental waste of time.. You want to feel ugly and less of yourself go on this app! It should be shut down completely
Said it's free. No way all about money.
Grindr ad said its free to meet guys. But 5 min on it finishing up my profile they already want to sign up for payment plans. Bogus bs. More greed.
Zero stars
Zero stars. The incessant pop-up ads that luck you in so that you have to close the entire app multiple times just to see one massage is absolutely ridiculous. Plus, they want you to pay really high prices for very few services. It is completely horrible. Horrible app. And then there are the guys and fakes and losers and downlow people who perpetuate the entire site. Nobody has a photo. And if there is one, it’s fake. Horrible horrible.
Grindr = ENSHITTIFCATION
Heard of the word, "enshittification?" That's Grindr. While the app is "free," they kill you with pop-up ads, spam profiles, endless advertising while promising that if you upgrade (pay for the app), all of this will go away.
It's like test driving a car and the AC doesn't work, but the salesman tells you as soon as you buy the car it will work.
Grindr has dropped the ball it use to…
Grindr has dropped the ball it use to be a great fast app to meet guys now you spend more time navigating adds and fake profiles grindr wake up to your self this app is now one of the worst gay platforms available
Impossible to use if you don't pay
Impossible to use if you don't pay. Ads keep popping up making it useless
Decline and Subtype
Decline and Subtype
This site is filled with Advertisements & men who exhibit behaviors that resemble the Subtype called Inattentive ADHD (research the meaning).
Example in Ohio:
Profile hiii
Agreed to go on a date & he proposed a place. Then exchanged numbers. Once contact is made, then flakes out
DATE OF EXPERIENCE 11-21-25
This used to be my go-to app
This used to be my go-to app. But the number of ads and even more so than the ads the number of fake profiles has really degraded the quality of the app. I recognize that some fake ass will get through but the number of fake ads is appalling. I jump on, am on for 5 to 10 minutes and I'm quickly reminded why I jumped off.
RUN AS IF YOUR **** DEPENDS ON IT
RUN AS IF YOUR **** DEPENDS ON IT! ESPECIALLY YOU HAVE SOMEONE already THAT CARES about YOU!!!! I BEG YOU RUN🙏!!🥺
Absolutely horrible
Absolutely horrible. Filled with Tranny spam which doesn’t go away even when reported and blocked. GPS built in doesn’t work - shows maybe 4 local the rest are within 50 miles and this is in a high urban area. This is with the basic PAID tier. Have cancelled future renewals. What the heck happened? Checking their customer service indicates hundreds of similar complaints which they acknowledge but have done nothing to fix it going on a year now. Would rate it zero if I could.
horrible and annoying!
horrible and annoying!! not like used to be back in the day... full of advertising and cutting off sudden in your searching ...
waste of time and all
I would not recommend Grindr
I rather use something else
Legal prostitution?
With the fees it is basically prostitution where the prostitute doesnt make any money.... from the best gay app to the worst in a few years.... well done for destroying the app grindr... uninstall time all over the gay community we think
Firstly all trans women request money
Firstly all trans women request money, gift card, etc just prostitution, and grindr allows this to happen and there ask to go to another site where they request various forms of payment as well onlyfans subscriptions, then there are the males that say all the right things to get you in exchange pictures etc then make every excuse under the sun not to meet, in a nutshell it is a disgusting site full of false representations should be avoided like the black plaque
BRIMMING WITH SCAMMERS AND SPAMMERS
Expect to be contacted my multiple types of scammers and spammers every time you go on the site. Three types common. 1. Messages from usually hot looking men telling me to try some alternate site. Easy to spot and block. 2. Messages from good looking men, often my type, but with no distance shown. If I chat with them, they always want your mobile number or email. So scammers. Block. 3. Messages from men saying they want a friend, companion or relationship. If you chat, they want a mobile or email. Again scammers. Block. I have contacted GRINDR customer service multiple times and they do nothing to identify and stop these harassers. All you get as a reply is a canned message.
Greedy bastards
Greedy , they will soon be like dial up apps applications obsolete. Its ok to charge a little but don't get so super, super greedy. So so short sighted
Grindr suck
Application suck A lot of annoying commercial. Hight subscription prices. Like 7.99 per week. Bunch of waste timers. And Bangkok for nothing.
Grinder : Declining for Years: Now Just Unjustified Bans and Invasive Ads
I’ve been using Grindr since around 2010, back when it was actually a fun and useful app to meet people, make friends, or simply chat. Today, it has become the complete opposite: ads everywhere, a downgraded experience, and most importantly, sudden, unjustified bans.
I was banned without having violated anything, with no warning, no clear explanation, and no real opportunity to appeal. All it takes is someone reporting you — even unfairly — and the app removes you without verifying anything. Support doesn’t provide clear answers and won’t even tell you what you supposedly did wrong. Truly terrible management.
Meanwhile, profiles doing self-promotion, escorts, and accounts that clearly break the rules stay active without any issue. Regular users are treated worse than those who misuse the app for commercial purposes.
The app has also become heavy, filled with ads and pop-ups that constantly interrupt your experience. What used to be a space for the community has turned into a chaotic, neglected platform where revenue seems far more important than users.
In short: Grindr is no longer reliable, no longer safe, and does not respect long-time users. A real shame, but in its current state, I cannot recommend it to anyone.
