STEER WELL CLEAR FROM THIS COMPANY … made initial payment for policy to start in 27 days … cancelled WITHIN 14 days of “cooling off period “ … was then charged for cancellation… They DO NOT ADHERE TO THE “COOLING OFF PERIOD “ Cost me just short of £65 for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING … Letter for me to pay cancellation fee arrived AFTER required payment date and letter stated if not paid by the date shown … arrived 3 days after … then this would be passed on to Debt Recovery Agency … They BLAMED THE POST OFFICE FOR THIS!!.. Unless you want to throw some of your hard earned money away … PLEASE STEER CLEAR

As with other reviewers, my local broker was taken over by Green Insurance a couple of years or so ago, since when the quality of service has nosedived. My last remaining (motor) policy through them has just ended, their only offer being a ridiculously expensive one with a syndicate at Lloyds, when equivalent or better options were freely available with mainstream companies costing 40 to 50% less. Green were unable to offer a single alternative, so lost another customer.

This Company took over our historical broker, Millards insurance and has now lost any customer service skills. They send out the wrong details for vehicles, quote high amounts and then say that they are unable to insure. Its a great example of one business buying another and losing customers.

I'm writing this on behalf of my Father In Law (80+)who trusted Green Insurance to provide suitable travel insurance. They charged him over £600 for a weeks cover in Lanzarote! Unfortunately his return flight was diverted to a different UK airport which meant he had to pay for a hotel & a train journey back to London. When he tried to claim these additional costs he was:
1. Advised his £600 policy didn't cover this eventuality
2. He should have read the policy himself!!!
When he suggested that:
1. It was not unreasonable to assume a policy would cover this in the UK winter months!
2. He went to an expert broker (rather than a comparison site) as he believed they would deliver appropriate advice!
3. And that everyone else's policies which were far cheaper than his DID COVER THEM...
......they said it was all down to him!!!!!!!!!!
Shameful.....Don't bother with them.....USE A COMPARISON SITE!!!!!!!

We were with a previous broker for motor fleet who was fantastic who retired and sold his business to Green. Since then the service is non existant and very unhelpful.

I have been with Green Insurance for more than 20 years. I have had good relationship with one of the sales team who has always delivered an excellent service and value for money.

In 2021 we ended up paying £5k+ the amount we should've done because we chose Green Insurance as a broker for our Motor Fleet Insurance and didn't try other brokers.

Following an Ombudsman Investigation, the outcome couldn't uphold our Claims, and so rather than Green Insurance being underhand, we understood it that Green Insurance didn't have the resources to provide a competitive quote, and also offered poor advice.

They offered a similar quote this year (approx. £12K) but fortunately we shopped around this time and found another broker who secured us a quote for £6.5k)

Our advise is to shop around!
