Generally very good. Lots of interesting activities. Needs better pacing. Two boat trios two days in a row with very early was taxing. The no event Sunday was helpful. Some additional time in Anchorage would have been nice. Also one more day in Talkeetna. The return from Seward (late) and then early departure from Anchorage was another difficult. Suggest one more day for this tour. But very much enjoyed the Alaska Railroad and seeing so much of Alaska. Enjoyed particularly the sled dogs,
We loved all of the boat tours in Whittier, Seward, & Talkeetna. The Real Alaska Day tour was also super fun - our guide Daryl was awesome. The hotels we stayed in were all nice, with the Talkeetna Also Lodge standing out simply for the views. We could have done without the trip to Fairbanks altogether. Train rides between Seward/Talkeetna were the most stunning. If you're on the fence about adding a plane or helicopter ride, DO IT - No regrets!
This trip went very smoothly. All the various arrangements were carried out without a hitch. The Gold Star tickets on the Alaska Railroad were very nice. I would use Great Rail Journeys again.
