Govmint.com is not a trustworthy site

First of all, if a product is on back order, it should be made known immediately before ordering. We didn't know our coin was on back order until the confirmation email. We ordered on March 1st, today is the 31st. No other emails updating us on the status. But they sure sent out a promotional email right away with a coupon.
I had to call today to find out where it is. Still on back order. When I called, the woman who answered the phone was not friendly. She was rude. When I asked to have the order cancelled she said fine, them hung up on me. I'm sure they will take their sweet time refunding our money.
If a product is not in stock, then it shouldn't be advertised as for sale.
This site is not reputable. Don't trust them.
They actually don't deserve any stars.. Unfortunately it wouldn't let me write this without one.

In January 5

In January 5, 2026, I ordered a significant # of Silver bars. Included in this order was a FREE one pound of bag of Buffalo Nickels.

The Silver order wasn't shipped until the 15th of January and as of today, March 4th, the Free bag of Buffalo Nickels has not shipped.

Today is March 4, 60 days after the order was placed.

I called the office and spoke with Will Parks, the sales person who sold me the original order and he indicated that the Free Bag of Buffalo Nickels was cancelled. What... why would I cancel part of the order which was free to begin? At that point he rapidly turned me over to Customer Service -- Britney, who quickly indicated that the bag would e shipped today and that I would receive the shipment in 5 to 7 days.

Pending receipt of the shipment in 5 to 7 days, I too will also be filing a report with the BBB.

I ordered a set of Commemorative coins…

I ordered a set of Commemorative coins in Dec. It said it wouldn't ship until Feb. I was ok with the wait. Mid Feb came and I finally called them to inquire about my order and was told it had been canceled. I was never notified of this and had been patiently waiting. They could have told me, no big deal. But they didn't. I buy precious metals and coins often and have for years. Semi-professional collector. Buy/sell all the time. They could have had a customer for life. Now, I'll criticize their professionalism, poor customer service, lack of communication and deceptive sales from here on. Kick rocks govmint.

Bad business…

I just tried for the 13th time since last July to order an advertised silver item. Each and every time I was quoted an extremely higher price. Today, (02/5/2026) I tried to buy an advertised silver bar from an ad in the Elks magazine. The magazine just arrived today. The ad was at $72.95 for a one ounce silver bar. The salesman said it was not available at that price, but, instead, at $119.95!! Today’s silver price at 4:35 pm is $70.97. This is a scam and reeks of 2021 bad business complaints. Beware! I am filing a formal complaint with BBB.

False advertising

So I read an add in a magazine for 5 1 oz silver coins for $379.95. And the add said “order now and lock in the price “ but when I called customer service they wanted $749 for the same set. Just a rip-off

Gov Mint is a huge scam

Gov Mint is a huge scam? They ripped me off for over a $100000. They knowingly knew they were selling me coins that were nowhere near worth. What they were selling? I've talked to many coin store people that worked there and they knew they were ripping people off all the talk about. First strike minting quantities, 70 grade was all lies.

Received wrong $35 order

I received the wrong $35 order in the mail and there was no easy way to remedy this screwup without getting a return label, waiting for them to receive the returned product, then waiting again for them to send me the correct $35 item. This was after I already waited the 5-7 business days to receive the wrong item. And I spent over a half hour on the phone talking to three different people over this $35 item before deciding to simply take the loss and just buy the correct item from someone else. When a company screws up like that, they should just send the correct item out right away and worry about the return later, especially when the wrong product is absolutely of no use to me whatsoever.

BEWARE OF GOV mint SCAMS!!!!!!

I was pressured into buying 50 wedge tailed eagle coins pf70, was told they were worth much more than they were worth. After buying found them selling for 50$ less than I paid for 50, a real head scratcher. So I figured wait until I can break even if ever. The other day I unboxed these coins to find 80 percent have unsightly toning on them all in same spot. Now I know coins can tone but they do it randomly not in the same places. With this info you know that gov mint mishandled these coins and caused the toning thus making them worthless other than spot price of 32$ and a whopping loss. PLEASE beware of this company they are very dishonest!!! Contacted company and deny everything and that’s what guilty people do right.

Buyers beware of Govmint.com

Buyers beware of Govmint.com. I purchase two 1oz silver ealge bullion that were 24k goldplated and one was with reuthenium edition. I took both of them to my local dealership which is Hallenbeck Coin Gallery. The gentalman I was with told me both are not .999 fine silver and only maybe 1/5 silver and rest othe metals. The would not buy any silver under 50%. These coin are scam and this company needs to be put out of business.

Great coins, but bothered by salesman

Bought a really awesome silver pyramid shaped Egyptian theme coin and I am happy with it. Paid a lot more than the silver value, but it's a limited production collector coin and I love ancient Egypt stuff. The only thing I don't like about GovMint is that I was called by a salesman a couple days after delivery who obviously wanted to sell me more. I buy online for convenience when I'm looking to make a purchase. I don't want to be called by anyone trying to get me to buy when I'm not ready. There is no mention of being called by a salesman on the website after your initial purchase nor anyway online to opt out. I was harassed constantly by another salesman from another company many years ago trying to persuade me into spending and I don't want to have to go through that again. If they are going to call customers it should be disclosed and given an option to opt out, just like for emails. My first purchase was my last unless in the future they happen to be the only online retailer selling something I absolutely must have. But as of now I'm not buying from them since I have many other companies to purchase from who don't bother me by phone call.
