I bought a silver item from this seller on Catawiki. UPS wasted my day with a failed delivery, and the item arrived damaged due to poor packaging. The seller refused any responsibility and didn’t even apologize, saying their packing was “perfect.”

I left a negative review because I paid for delivery and Buyer Protection, but got neither service nor protection. Later, at the seller’s request, Catawiki removed my review. I also discovered I paid almost double the real delivery cost.

The biggest hypocrisy came from Goudwisselkantoor’s support saying they “want our buyers to be completely satisfied.” And they sure made it happen — by deleting my negative review. Now I leave my honest feedback everywhere they can’t censor it, to warn other buyers.

They told me their spread (difference between buying and selling prices) for buying 1 oz gold coins was 8% (so a 4% commission each way).
When I compare the buy and sell prices given by them to me today, the spread is more like double that.
Today they sell that coin for 3024 but buy at only 2600.
Maybe I have missed something - or they carefully avoided mentioning some tax or hidden charge. Either way, businesses misleading consumers is strictly against the law anywhere in the EU.
