Hardly reception for Gosim in Peru

I bought GoSim esim for Peru, but hardly had reception through the country, only -with difficulty- in Lima and Arequipa. Rest of my family used another esim (60% of the price); they had signal in most of the country.

Didn't ever work

I bought this because i was told it would work with my oppo phone,by the website, but it never did. I paid for it and it never worked and had to spend $50 in The USA to use my phone for a week.

Excellent service

Excellent service. I give 4 stars because I find the price on the higher side. In the country I visited (Egypt) the local e-sims are much cheaper.
However GoSim has the advantage of working right as soon as you land, has supports languages, can easily track/topup usage, and you dont need to provide personal documents

Gosim do not check if phone is compatible- money not (yet?) refunded

Summary: I bought a eSim early Jan 2024. My phone turned out to be incompatible with esim, something which gosim, unlike similar providers, does not check before payment. After contacting them about this the same day, I am still awaiting a refund ten days later. Upon contacting them again by What's app, they said it may take a little longer as the money has to come from a foreign bank account. They responded positively to my feedback to check the compatibility of phones prior to payment, and to better inform customers that it may take up to 2 weeks to receive your refund. I am getting the impression that I have not been scammed so have increased my reviewing score.

Details: bought an esim with Gosim online on 6 Jan 2024. The gosim page swiftly went through the process, including payment. I was supposed to scan a QR code I then received (not so handy while travelling by yourself) or follow a more eleborate method. By asking a kind stranger to take a photo of the QR code shown on my phone and then scanning that again in turn, my phone connected the the QR link - but I just ended up seeing a numerical code. I then tried the more elaborate method. However, it then turned out that my phone is not compatible with E-sim at all as it is too old.

While another provider (airalo) first checks if your phone is compatible (and indeed gave me the message that my phone is NOT) gosim just takes you straight to payment. I contacted them by What's App that my phone cannot actually use the esim I bought, and they responded after an hour with some ways to check if it my phone would be compatible with esim. Indeed it turned out it is not.

They then promised me via whats app that they would refund me the money. It is now 10 days later, and I just checked and realised that the money is still not refunded. Upon contacting them again, they said it may still take awhile.

Advise: first check if your phone is compatible before paying.
