I want to share my experience with Motive (formerly KeepTruckin) so other business owners are aware.
When we signed our agreement, a UCC lien was immediately filed against my company, TRUCK & AUTOXONE LLC, under Internet Truckstop Payments LLC (a Motive-related entity).
Our contract was fully terminated on January 7, 2025, and Motive issued a “Full Termination and Release” confirming that all obligations were satisfied.
However, despite this, the UCC lien (File # U210046233229, originally filed 05/13/2021) is still active and has not been removed.
This is extremely concerning because:
The lien is no longer valid after termination
It continues to encumber my business assets
It negatively affects my ability to obtain financing
I have made efforts to resolve this, but the issue remains open.
Filing a lien is easy — removing it when the obligation ends should be just as straightforward. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience.
If you are a business owner considering Motive, be aware of how they handle UCC filings and make sure you protect yourself.
I hope they correct this immediately.

Went with GoMotive
Started with one Ai camera for a free trial.
The driver app with Timecard, pre and post trip was one of my favorites.
The camera can log past locations and events.Great if a customer calls about a delivery or job site.
Maintenance, GPS, Timecards, IFTA highly customizable.
Better than Samsara or Verizon that I tried.
If your running trucks this works.

Customer service is a joke I bought two year annual subscription $1230. When I received order they sent me wrong cable my truck has obd and they send me rp1226 j1939.i called in to send me a right cable. Customer service told me to buy the cable because the cable they send me fits the truck. They know my truck more than I do. And one more heads up do not pre pay because they will not reimburse your money. Motive is very shady when you come to problem.

Buyer be ware
While I had this software/hardware it was glitchy and did not function how I needed it to. 3 years later my company has been folded due to astronomically high overhead costs by running legitimately one of which was by paying for mandatory ELD services (motive) i have just canceled my account and they say I need to keep paying until my yearly anniversary date. On top of that the hardware I paid for is apparently locked to my account and can not be sold to someone else in the industry. This is ridiculous to me as its hardware not software. Way to drag every last nickel out of someone motive!
My recommendation try Samsara

I put a 1 star only because they don't accept 0 stars. Horrible customer service and you have no way of canceling the subscription. Horrible to deal with. They are stealing money from hard working people. Don't listen and always make it your fault when they won't listen to what your needs are.

If I could give a negative or "0" star I would. Motive does not care about its customers or service. Customers beware. You will be drawn into a long-term contract which would be fine if they maintained or provided any kind of support for their product. Employee turnover is high, so expect to talk to someone "new" each and every time you need support and prepare to explain your troubles or needs over and over again because there will be "no record" from the previous rep you dealt with. They are unwilling to compromise or show any kind of good will to their customer's even when they drop the ball on their end. Worse customer experience ever. If you need this type of service, I caution you strongly to look at other options such as Verizon Connect or Geotab services first because Motive is awful.

Motive is one of the worst companies I have had to deal with. From the time I started the subscription to the time I tried to cancel my renewal, its been a headache. Their customer services is a joke...
Now, they gave my account to collections because our negotiations moved into my "30 days" before renewal.
I have an email feed which clearly proves all of this. Does it matter? No... They charged my card anyways. I disputed it with the credit card company. So, they put my account into collections. I reached out multiple times after the card was charged and disputed. *Crickets*
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not use this company!
They are horrible to work with and impossible to cancel through. They are not stupid, they will use the loop holes to screw you over and not care.

Do recommend this company. They don't follow through on their word and will charge your account regardless of terms.

Very frustrating experience.
They keep charging yearly billing and do not properly respond to cancellation requests. Instead of processing the cancellation, they repeatedly push for phone calls to try to change your mind.
We requested cancellation shortly after being charged, but the issue was not handled in a straightforward way. If you are considering signing up, be very careful with auto renewal and billing terms.

Never worked for them. Not sure how they got my number. But they call super early and have woken me up multiple times despite telling them to lose my number and that they are not reaching the right person

never again going with motive. i told them to remove a truck last year which they said they did, but i was wrong they kept charging me all these months when i said i need a credit for all those months you guys charged me for it, they keep demanding payment instead of a apology and credit. so never again motive..

Worst company to deal with Ever.
invest your money somewhere else, as soon as you sign the contract you'll get no support and you'll get all the hidden fees. also you can't cancel because lookup their policy they'll charge you for the full term.

If I could give a zero I would. This company may be okay but I doubt that. My issue has been with the salesman, Hector, that has continued to harass me and not taking no for an answer. He has gone so far as to tell me that I was falling for the propaganda against their company when I pointed out their negative reviews on another site. He stated "Looking forward to seeing you break out of the matrix". I've repeatedly told him no and have even hung up on him when he has called the business office.

Bad experience, signed contract twice with these people in a matter of days and my account never got activated. These people are predatory and if you're given an account rep that doesn't pick up the phone you get no where with this company. I've contacted support so many times in the last two weeks that they won't even respond, this company is terrible I've switched to Samsara and the experience so far has been amazing.

My company was with Motive for about 6 years. Nothing but hardware problems, very poor support, and constant hassles in a variety of areas. As they got bigger, it got even worse. In the beginning, you at least had a somewhat local account representative that could help out where their foreign support (total garbage) couldn't. Even that changed. Everything is oversees now. It's poorly run operation. My only regret was suffering thru it for years and not switching away sooner. We bit the bullet and switch away to Samsara, and we've never been happier. Based on our experience with Motive (medium size fleet) for over 6 years, I would tell everybody that asked to steer clear of them. They'll onboard you then you'll be dealing with very poor Pakistani based support and account management until you're wise enough to move on. They fired every decent stateside employee they had that interacts with customers, and you're left with empty promises and frustrations that don't improve.

I never agreed to an annual auto renew contract with motive, especially for a higher rate. I agreed to one year at a certain amount. I’m not paying $50 a month (higher than I originally agreed to) for a service I don’t use that you never had my permission to charge me for in the first place.
Motive never said this was an auto renew contract.
This is what some companies do, they are deceptive and then they act like bullies.
I tried talking to them about it but they are not trained to help, they are overseas and running an operation.

I regret signing up with this company. From the very beginning their sales team made big promises about service and support that were completely false once the contract was signed. The automatic renewal process kicked in even after I told them clearly I didn’t want to continue, and they pulled money from my account without warning. Trying to cancel has been an exercise in frustration — customer support stalls, gives contradictory answers, and refuses refunds for services I never used after cancellation. It feels like they’re more interested in locking you into a long-term contract than actually helping you. This whole experience has been unprofessional, deceptive, and a total waste of time and money.

I just receive a call from these people. Somehow they got my number and somehow they found out I was looking at purchasing DASH Cams. This was not a random call and I SWEAR TO GOD I will never buy anything from a company like this that is actively somehow data mining consumers then cold calling them and trying to play it off like they are somehow responding to a DOT inquiry. FK THEM!!!

Great communication in the beginning. Lots of promises made that unfortunately weren’t kept after a contract was signed. Just a few days after a contract was in place, we were switched to a new account representative. It’s just an email battle now to get the equipment scheduled and installed.
