Reply from GO Markets

Hi Mohamad,

GO Markets, like many brokers, may offer lower leverage for several important reasons.

Regulatory Requirements: Depending on the regulatory environment in which GO Markets operates, there might be legal limits on the amount of leverage brokers can offer. For example, in regions governed by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) or similar bodies, retail clients are often restricted to lower leverage levels (e.g., 30:1 for major currency pairs). Where GO Markets is subject to such regulations, this would explain the lower leverage offerings.

Risk Management: Lower leverage helps manage risk more effectively. High leverage can amplify both gains and losses, and a lower leverage limit can help protect traders from significant losses and margin calls. This risk management approach is beneficial for both the broker and the clients, ensuring a more stable trading environment.

Client Protection: Brokers often set lower leverage limits to safeguard their clients, especially those who are less experienced. High leverage can lead to large losses quickly, and by offering lower leverage, GO Markets aims to reduce the risk of clients experiencing severe financial difficulties.

Market Conditions: In times of high volatility or market uncertainty, brokers might adjust leverage limits to ensure stability. Lower leverage can help mitigate the impact of sudden market movements and reduce the potential for significant losses.

Broker’s Strategy: Each broker has its own risk management strategy. GO Markets might have chosen to offer lower leverage as part of its broader strategy to maintain a safer trading environment and ensure sustainable operations.

If you have specific concerns about GO Markets' leverage policies or need further clarification, feel free to contact our customer support, or your account manager.

Regards,
The GO Markets team.
