At 62, I was finalizing my retirement plans

At 62, I was finalizing my retirement plans. A "crypto transition specialist" firm contacted me. For the critical 18 months before my planned date, they professionally encouraged me to "optimize" my lump sum. Their complex, slick charts showed how their products could increase my income. I rolled over a substantial part of my 401(k) to them. Their dashboard showed everything on track. I gave my retirement notice at work. A month later, trying to set up my first income payment, I hit a wall. The company said the dashboard was a "planning interface." The rollover money had been lost in high-risk trades. My retirement date is here, but the money to fund it is not. I am facing the utter collapse of my plans at the worst possible moment, potentially forced to find work in my sixties with decimated savings. Having exhausted my own efforts, I retained ayr'L'P. Their subsequent analysis and formal intervention resulted in the complete return of my capital in a timely manner.
