Brilliant experience! Such a fun family experience to do. Very easy.
We booked a on hour GoBoat trip through GetYourGuide, specifically to see the zoo and the famous Chinese restaurant along the canals. Later we found out you need two hours for that and one more for Camden. We ended up paying for one more hour but ended up seeing nothing more than what we would have seen anyway.
The staff never checked on us when we went the wrong way (despite having the means). We were left completely on our own, with children on board, while staff admitted that “10% of customers make this same mistake.” If they know so many people go wrong, why is there no support? If they are at fault, why not admit it and refund the extra hour we paid for nothing?
After complaining, we were offered a voucher instead of a refund — but only valid for ONE year, when we were originally told two. We don’t live in London, so this is useless. We paid to see landmarks we never saw, and were treated unfairly when we raised our concerns.
This was meant to be a once-in-a-lifetime family experience. Instead, it was a source of stress, disappointment, and wasted money. Absolutely shocking customer care. Avoid. Terrible customer service too.
Visited go boats a few times at the Paddington location. Staff are always helpful and friendly. It’s a great activity with friends!
The worst customer service experience I've ever had. It was like speaking to robots not human beings. They are just out to make money instead of provide a good service to people. I've lost £140 because of a booking error.
Ok as long as you don’t want to amend the order. Booked two boats and ordered the Cozy packs not knowing what the weather was like. It was nearly 30 degrees so wanted to edit booking to remove them. Impossible! Edit booking link doesn’t work, no reply to email and no response to voicemail.
Terrible customer service. I booked for my family including our 3 daughters to go on a boat trip and the weather was thunder and lightning. When I asked for a voucher to rearrange I was told they would give us an umbrella and a canopy! I think these are great conductors for lightning. They said it is not company policy to give a voucher if the weather is dangerous. This company is a a disaster waiting to happen. Please do not use them
Customer Service does not exist. I booked and paid (£200) for 9 friends to go on the Go-Boat - it was my 60th birthday present. The day before we were due to come it was obvious that the weather was awful so I asked if I could perhaps have a credit against the trip. No-one got back to me! So £200 lost! Do not deal with these people, they are unprofessional!!
Horrible experience!! Hired a boat based on 5* reviews on their site. After a brief speech on how to operate the electric boat we were left to travel down the canal. Approximately 3 mins in and the boat lost power. An error code appeared. Their ‘technical’ staff came along and after twiddling the rudder a few times it gained power. The staff snidely suggested nothing was wrong with the boat EVEN THOUGH AN ERROR CODE appeared!! We resumed our journey. Not long after that the boat stopped AGAIN. I contacted the ‘technical’ team once more who then accused us of not following the guidelines about avoiding rubbish in the waters! I quickly informed him that our ‘tutorial’ DID NOT tell us about avoiding rubbish (which is nigh impossible in London waterways) and also we were NOT given instructions on how to remove debris from the propeller or what piece of equipment to use. We weren’t even told where to find life jackets!! TERRIBLE customer service!! I don’t know how often the boats are serviced because our boat was slower than the max 3.5mph. All others boats were passing us. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED with this experience. I booked this as a romantic sail for my partner’s birthday. It was anything but!! Needless to say I will NOT be returning there neither will I recommend it!!
Rude and aggressive staff confiscated boat after 20 minutes in spite of (1) not requesting me to sign a waiver upon checking in (2) their terms and conditions NOT BEING FOUND on their website. Refund Refused so £175 paid for 20 minutes. Aggressive, unfriendly, rude, obnoxious and unhelpful staff - STAY AWAY
In 2021, I purchased a voucher for a boat trip, worth £169, which was explicitly advertised as having a three-year expiry date.
Regrettably, despite the explicit terms stated on the voucher I received at the time, your company is now refusing to honor the voucher and allow me to utilise the boat trip.
There is conflicting information on the gift card I was given, in the small print it says 3 years and in the body of the email it says 1 year expiry date, and they have now said they won't accept it because it's over a year old.
I find it unreasonable and unfair that Goboat has taken my money for a service promised to be available for three years and now will not provide that service! Very disappointed and awful customer service who have sent me rude emails!
