Terrible
I’d booked in an exam with them for the 10th October at 11:10am. Only to get a message from my uni to say I haven’t been booked in for my exam two days before. I’m now $8 US out of pocket for their stuff up.
Awful Customer Service Experience
I have had an awful experience with ProctorU so far. I haven't even scheduled my test yet - the process for getting assistance with testing my equipment was like pulling teeth. The live chat option directed me to articles that I had already read and offered no solutions for my problem. When I reached out through their "non-urgent" contact channel, I was told to "be rest assured that we have live technicians who can assist you" and then my ticket was closed without my permission or a resolution to my issue. Once I got in touch with a real person, I agreed to give them "remote control" of my screen so that they could provide assistance. They just tested my equipment from their end without telling me what they were doing or explaining how to fix the issue I had that was originally preventing me from testing. Multiple times during the "remote control" assistance process I received the same answer (with the exact same wording) that had nothing to do with the question I asked (about a download speed that was too slow). Communication was so difficult, that I wonder if they are hiring tech support that does not speak English and and so provide them with pre-prepared, scripted responses. I sincerely hope that ProctorU's bad customer service does not affect my ability to take my test on exam day and I will be advising my professor and institution that they do not use this service in the future.

Worst service ever. If I didn't like my college I would leave because they use ProctorU. No one can solve issues, and I have attempted to test in 3 different places only to have it kick off before I can even test. HATE this service.

Absolutely HATED IT
Whenever I opened up the assessment it took me to connect to proctorU, they made me download guardian browser which was extremely sketchy, there were indian people in the backround, most likely contingent workers from india, it sounded like a scam call center if I'm being honest, there was a lot of backround noise, people laughing and talking in indian, then they kept switching my proctor 4-7 times, at one time I heard wind blowing outside like uh what the sigma, why are you outside and monitoring my test??? that's so sketchy, now I'm creeped out because random hired people from india have my passport information and my face since they can see me.....they made me download logmein, which was to take control to my laptop, the whole situation was highly stressing for me because they asked me to take a picture of my workspace, laptop, left, right, back then the proctor asked me to see my left right back and under the desk so that's repeated twice, the guardian browser wouldn't load so they made me close out of everything, take pictures of left, right, down, my laptop, then the proctor asked me AGAIN to show left, right, up, down, my workspace, they made me take a picture of my passport 3 TIMES IN THE SAME TESTING SESSION AND 3 TIMES THE PROCTOR PEOPLE HAD TO VIEW MY PASSPORT, and made me clear my stuff that CLEARLY BELONG IN MY DESK SUCH AS MY HELLO KITTY MAKEUP BAG AND ALOE VERA AND THEY CONSIDERED IT AS CHEATING,:((( MY BACK HURT BECAUSE I KEPT GOING BACK AND FOURTH CLEARING MORE THAN 15 ITEMS ON MY DESK, i was sick and in the process of recovering, they didn't even let me have tissues on my desk...I had to keep all of that stuffies in and i holded in my coughs, I wasn't allowed water bottle on my desk i really needed water and my throat was extremely itchy it hurt so badly and now i woke up next morning with lot's of pain in my chest area and I'm severely congestion, my lungs hurt and i wheeze out in a deep voice, THANKS A LOT PROCTORU, they are so stupid, THEY MADE ME TEAR OFF A PICTURE OF MY DECEASED LOVED ONE ON THE WALL LIKE EXCUSE YOU???, THAT HURT MY FEELINGS, HOW IS THAT CONSIDERED CHEATING IT WAS A SIMPLE DRAWING OF A SPECIAL SOMEONE 😢😢😢😢i was on the verge of tears I was scared, afraid, I really wanted this to end, God who knows what changes they did on my laptop, I had a bad feeling they did something to it, they opened one of my applications, it looked like windows command prompt and they were doing things in the background, it was really sketchy, MY LAPTOP DURING THE TEST WAS EXTREMELY HOT, IT'S NEVER BEEN THAT HOT BEFORE, NOT EVEN RUNNING BLENDER WHICH IS A 3-D RENDER PROGRAM, it was so hot I didn't even want to touch it...I didn't want to say anything because I know they have the power to suspend or invalidate my test, but sheesh, it was so stressing, made my head hurt, took 2 HOURS TO JUST SET UP FOR THE TEST, I WAS ALREADY TIRED, burned out, on the verge of tears and I couldn't anymore so I turned it in and called it a night. DO NOT TAKE A TEST WITH THEM I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE A TEST WITH THEM SAVE YOUR LIFE AND RUN AWAY.

Extremely uncomfortable!
This company made me feel absolutely uncomfortable through this entire process. Telling me to lock my bedroom door and put my phone on the floor near the locked door. Asking me to record my entire bedroom for them to look at.. very over the top for a FOOD SAFETY EXAM! zero stars if I had the choice.

This is truly ridiculous, unbelievable not professional !!!! September 19, 2024, I tried to take my exam for real estate through Proctor, first with Nakka Rishi Yadav, then another try with Ganesh P, really very weird people from another earth , it is a horribale experience !!!!, I wasted my time my energy !!!!!! Apparently in Pennsylvania you can only take the test online through Proctor, I will try to find a place that i can go to a class and take the exam, because Proctor is garbage !!!!!!

Just finished taking an exam with a Proctor who was quite rude to me at the end. There is no option that I can find on their site to contact someone about something like this. The Proctor repeatedly told me to "wait" to close out the taskbar so she could watch me fill out my survey. Once I filled it out she told me to submit it and I hit the button to and while it loaded moved my mouse to hover over the "X" to close out our session after. When she saw me moving my mouse she said, "submit, submit, submit, SUBMIT" raising her voice at me at the end. I am so over having to use these services to take my exams.

When I was suppose to be taking my test I was literally trying to log in, connect to a proctor to the point the proctor sent me a message that my time has expired. This wnet back ans forth for over 1 hour with the chat bot and the log-in for the exam process. The worst of it was that I scheduled off work that morning, made numerous phone calls to Proctoru for help, and sat on hold until my session did expire. I suggest just using a real proctor. My co-worker had the same experience and did not get into the test either. The process was so exhaulsting and frustrating that it nearly brought me to tears.

I would give negative stars if I can. EXTREME invasion of privacy, unreasonable requests to unplug tv, super slow reply, and after 1 hour I still can't see my exam. What a shame that such company exists

I would give this absolute garbage a 0, but it's not an option. Proctors were very rude, and weird. Had me do a 360 of my room and then asked why I had certain things in my room. They made me do a 360 of my room twice, and it was still not good enough! TERRIBLE.
A company that delivers additional misfortune to innocent test takers
I’ve taken the TOEFL Home Edition test six times, and amazingly, I’ve never been able to complete a test without some issue:
- Before starting the test, the proctor told me to use the restroom, so I did. When I returned, the test was terminated for leaving the screen. (The proctor seemed unaware they had instructed me to go, likely because they just repeat the same instructions each time.)
- During the Listening section, the proctor's voice kept coming through, making me miss half of it. Later, I was told it was because I had looked down to take notes. No retest or compensation was offered.
- I spent two hours with customer service because the necessary program to connect with the proctor wouldn’t work. After finally getting in, I couldn’t take the test because the scheduled time had already passed.
- I logged in for my scheduled test only to find that my reservation wasn’t registered.
- One year later, during today’s test, yet again, the proctor terminated the test without any reason during the Speaking section. They claimed it was due to integrity issues but wouldn’t tell me what rule I violated. I was asked to show my whiteboard, the entire room (360° view), and my phone and its location. After reviewing everything, the proctor couldn’t find any violations. I am still waiting for a response, not knowing why my test was terminated.

The software is terrible. It disconnected in the middle of the exam, and when you reached out, you received no help. You couldn’t even get a real person on the phone. How can a company like this continue to operate?

SO TERRIBLE! if i could give them 0 stars i would. I downloaded everything and prepared so much the day before so that i wouldnt run into any problems but here I am. I was supposed to take my exam 30 minutes ago and have been on the phone the whole time. was told it would be a 2 minute wait, after waiting 15 mins they said theres nobody available! This software absolutely SUCKS and I hope nobody has to go through this. The stress of an exam is enough and then they make us deal with this as well. TERRIBLE!
Terrible Software, Worse Support, and Bad Company
Took over an hour to get started on an exam. Provided my ID and room scan in advance. Then Guardian browser stated that there were multiple sessions open. Started a remote access session and they messed with my computer settings for about 30 minutes then handed me over to another person who didn't know the issue and informed me to try again. I tried again and eventually the exam tool let me in. I started over 1.5 hours later than I planned on starting. Proctors were unhelpful and the browser was terrible.

Horrible!! I spent hours on the tech support chat trying to access my exam. I was disconnected numerous times. Never got access to my test! Seeing all these bad reviews doesn’t surprise me but makes me wonder what ProctorU reps were really installing on my computer during the times I had to give access so they could try to diagnose the problem. BEWARE!!

I had to speak to 10 different incompetent techs that couldn’t troubleshoot setting issues. When they couldn’t figure out what was going on, they would drop the connection and I had to wait for the next tech! After 2 hours finally the last tech changed a few settings and I was good to go! Very disappointing. Do not recommend
