Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!

Avoid!! Took approx. £1,500 upfront for worktop supply & fitting. Never fitted the product and supplied us with one sheet of raw material that can be purchased for £250. Now having to go through legal channels to reclaim the money. Total scam artists

Great initial service but terrible fitting and once they have the money, they don’t care

George recommended a fitter to us but they did a terrible job.
Used part of our own kitchen plinths and chipboard we had laying around from the house build to fill in gaps underneath the worktop.
Chipboard that is clearly visible and has sharp edges which the kids have got splinters from.
Steve (fitter) came out to look and said he would fix it but he just lies and lies and lies all the time. (One day he couldn’t come as he went to see a doctor and had bone removed from his knee the same day. Blatant lie)
You can also see a couple of joints that haven’t been done properly.
George couldn’t care less that his fitter he recommends for every job had done a terrible job and that he is a compulsive liar.
Would never use again and warn all others to avoid.
P.s. It seems Steve is reviewing go worktop on here as you can see from the only 5 star review is from a Steve and when you click his name, he’s left 3 reviews all for worktop fitting companies

Great service from start to finish.

Great service from start to finish.
Communication is great and they are always there to discuss things with you before and during the fitting. The fitter was very polite and explained all about the job before he started and did a beautiful job. Would highly recommend this company and the fitter

Very dissapointing

Just not a nice experience in dealing with aftersales from George
Fitting not the best but because it's a seperate fitter not tied to the company, go worktops just say it's not their issue
Accusations of incorrectly fitted units being blamed for a product that wasn't flat
Just avoid if want an easy life

Go elsewhere

It’s 2 months after the job started and was left part completed and cannot get dates or updates. Company are not taking responsibility to sort out and blame fitters who were appointed by them. Recommend to avoid and Go elsewhere!

Think twice before using GoWorktops. Once they have your money there’ll be no point complaining about anything as it will not be their fault.

I bought HiMacs worktops and splashbacks from this company largely because they were competitively priced. First point of contact was Gordon who did the quotes. He was very helpful initially. He said to save money, templates were made whilst fitting the surfaces, which was surprising but cost reduction was significant. I sent pictures to Gordon to better describe an area that I wanted worktop to ceiling splashbacks, . It was an area with unusual angles which the fitter refused to do. Had this have been templated in advance and the issues pointed out then, I would not have ordered splasbacks and gone with tiles and could have saved a few thousand pounds. I was told I would need an extra sheet of material to accommodate this area. We were told our worktops would be fitted in 2-3 weeks time. Fitting was delayed several times and finally things were installed about 7-8 weeks after ordering. Various excuses were given blaming the fitters and snow for the delays but talking to the fitters and delivery driver these excuses seem to have been made up. The product I ordered wasn’t actually the one I received. I ordered Aurora Bianco but received Aurora Blanco. Whilst I saw this on the order form, I assumed it was just a typo. Who would have thought a company would make 2 products with similar names especially when blanco and Bianco mean the same thing? This error wasn’t spotted until after installation when I found the sample of the product I thought I had ordered. Luckily it’s a beautiful surface and it fits beautifully with my cabinets.
The issues I have with Go Worktops were the delays and finally realizing that once they have your money their responsibility ends.
I complained about the delays and Gordon became highly patronizing.
Go worktops supply the fitters and We were asked to pay the fitters for their services on completion. That should have been a big red flag.

The worktops were delivered and we were clearly told to supply 2 able bodied people to help the driver unload. These worktops are incredibly heavy - over 10 stone each. The driver was kind and did help carry them but the poor guy looked like he was going to have a heart attack. He thought the policy of providing your own muscle was ridiculous.Gordon claims it’s the same for all companies and that there’s no such thing as a 2 man delivery. I haven’t checked but -
The fitters were pleasant very hard working and did tidy up after themselves. Sadly there were a few issues with the fitting. The first was the refusal to attempt the hob area. We were told the walls were out and that there was no way to make the 3 pieces fit well together. This was highly frustrating and disappointing and the end result was not brilliant. The second major issue was with the utility room. As my partner and I installed the cabinets I know for a fact the cabinets were all level. I saw the spirit level bubbles with my own eyes. The fitter made a frame to support the sink but the sink sat on a lip of the frame and didn’t sit properly. The fitter then installed the splashback but realized that the holes he cut for the sockets were not lining up correctly. He ended up installing bits of worktop under the cabinet legs which then made the end panel too short and we were told to order a new one. It was all blamed on our cabinets not being installed properly. What a cheek! The result was an obvious slope from one end to the other. Fortunately my partner could see the problem and ended up taking the splash back off, taking out the bits of worktop from under the cabinets, altered the frame for the sink, everything then fell into place and refitted the splash back. The result was perfect. The fitters were given or allowed 2 days to fit my kitchen and utility room. They took 3 and were obviously keen to get away. 4 days would have been a more reasonable amount of time. The fitters took away some of my expensive worktops to make chopping boards for me. It’s clear the will never arrive. The final gripe was that they didn’t fill the gaps around the tops and edges of the splash backs. I felt it made the whole kitchen look shoddily done. However once my partner had filled the gaps, added some beading to the hob region and sorted the utility room I was a lot happier. Final complaint to Gordon revealed everything was my fault for paying the fitters before being satisfied. They had half the money after day one and two claiming they needed money for a hotel. He then passed my complaints to the fitters who were upset and defensive.
Whilst searching my emails to find out how much I had to pay the fitters I came across an email from 2017. It seems I have used this company before! It was an email complaining about the 10 week delay! As I remember the fitter then rather cocked up in his fitting of a different utility room. I don’t know if it was this fitter or a different one.
