A simple order of two books and the staff somehow managed to get the address wrong/incomplete even though it should be as per the invoice, which was correct.
I had to ask for the tracking information to find that out after being told it was my fault as the package had tried to be delivered.
Various back and forth emails which were painful, unhelpful and verging on providing an answer without an answer.
Second postage went wrong as well, but thankfully was intercepted by the postie, just a couple of days away from a full month since the original order and a week away from when I should have read them by.
No offer of recompense or acceptance when asked. £5.99 postage for the slowest and most frustrating experience. Go to a retailer and not direct.

Bad service and very, very, very slow reaction times.

I ordered and paid the sheet music for string quartet, €65,-. It took more then 16 days before I received anything, but from the four parts only 1 was sent!
I immediately reached out and asked if they could send me in the meantime the PDF's of the missing parts. Another 14 days later I received an e-mail with the parts in PDF, but with in grey big letters 'Temporary copy' over the page, which makes reading from it very annoying if not impossible.

Negative experience

My experience with Oxford publishing company is very negative. No responese from help desk, Having problems with logging into my account ddespite having paid for the accsee code. I cant use recordings or videos in my classes and there are authomatic replies form elt support system. The names change all the time a there is no responsibility with dealing with a custumer. Change to Cambridge or other publishers.

Terrible customer service

I subscribed to an online training package which unbeknown to me, auto renewed as default. When I contacted them to request a refund on the same day I was notified by automated email, I was told it fell outside of their 14 day refund policy. Terrible money grabbing company, I would avoid if possible.

Terrible support

Terrible support — response times are slow and replies are just generic copy-and-paste answers that don’t solve real issues. I asked for clear rollover instructions and got sent a basic CSV guide I already knew about. They even suggest sending student data by email, which is unprofessional and not GDPR-compliant.

I would give them 0 stars if that was a possibility. I bought English File Teacher's Guide and it's impossible to access the access code. ELT suppost email does not work. None of the representatives replies to emails or picks up the phone. I have to say it is a huge scam. :(

I bought a digital copy of a text, and they said I would receive an activation code for digital access, BUT I never received the code. It has been impossible to contact them via phone or email. I will never deal with Oxford University Press again. They were quick to take my money - "not happy Jan'

The online practice is trying to sneakly push the newsletter by making you tick the box if you dont want it. The whole thing is annoying enough as i need to study up c1 level even though i have perfectly passed an exam on that level. I do not need to be pissed off by a sneaky annoyance.

Customer support is abysmal

Customer support is abysmal
7 days for a reply to my request for support. Have now dealt with three different staff (probably an out sourced off shore help center) all asked the same questions without evidently reading any of the prior emails. It is clear that they do not even understand their own system and probably have limited access to their IT. Suffice to say I will not use their products with my students again. A huge waste of my time and students time 💩

Order never received / Never buy

I am completely dissatisfied with their service. I ordered an academic journal at the end of 2023, which I have never received. For two years, I kept following up with them. Each time, they claimed to have resent the Journal and told me to wait another 8 weeks for delivery. It is clear that they have a serious issue with their delivery and tracking system but they don't really care.

And now, after two years of follow-ups and still never having received the journal, their final response is simply: “Sorry, there’s nothing we can do.” I can’t say I’m surprised, given the rating they have on Trustpilot — to which I will now contribute. They did a great job, well done !

Plain dumb luck

I had found out through dumb luck that I had mistakenly used my HSA card on a purchase. But then, this company kept applying the charge daily to the card for over a month. They could have emailed me about the issue or just say they will cancel the order if I can't provide updated payment method.

I know I should have read the reviews before going forward with them. Their customer service link on their website doesn't work. I've already sent two emails. Lastly, got through on the phone and got them to cancel the order but my online account still says order in progress. I'll just go to Amazon.

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.

Please, what ever you do, do not buy from them. Bought a book and was charged double. On further investigation, it was due to the currency. No problems with that at all. I then wanted to return the item. No response. Multiple emails sent requesting to return. Nothing. Ghosted. I cannot think of a worse company I have ever dealt with. A mockery of thena e.

Please, if you see this message first, DO NOT BUY.

Placed an order

Placed an order, done the payment and received confirmation. However cannot see a delivery date. Sent a message on their website - "will receive a reply in 72hrs". Pathetic 😭. Also sent an email.Hopefully receive a reply before 72hrs.

I also have problems giving this company one star.
I ordered a rather expensive book from them. When it didn’t arrive I asked for a delivery date, to be told the order had not been processed. This happened a second time - some difficulty with their system, but didn’t tell me until I rang them yet again.
When I eventually managed to order on a third attempt, it was to find they had ordered the wrong volume - volume 3 instead of volume 1. I rang to cancel the order only to receive a message that they had dispatched volume 3. What a total shambles. In desperation, I turned to Amazon to find a copy at a third of the price.

They run out of books, do nothing after

They run out of books well before school season (August) and what? They do NOTHING about it for 5 months. Parents in my language school are losing their patience and work is significantly more difficult. Not to mention the pretty much non-exisent discount for buying in bulk, or having to wait 7 days for shipping(???) of a DIGITAL ACCESS CODE

Oxford University Press is a fraudulent organisation that should be avoided

I bought the digital pack of the fourth edition of 'English File Advanced' for 70 pounds, only to be told that to have access to the answer keys, I would also have to buy the teacher's digital pack for an additional 60 pounds.

Nowhere on their website was it made clear that I would have to pay so much more simply to have access to the answer keys. They are even available freely for different products, yet the company decided to lock them behind an additional paywall for this product without making the customer aware of it.

Nonsense and ridiculous

My son got homework, so we needed access to the voice materials referred to from his English workbook. We registered on the website and entered the access code, which was successfully accepted. However, the course was not made available for us. Reached out to OUP support and they said it takes 7-10 business days to enable the access to the voice materials. This is nonsense and ridiculous. We purchased the book and access to the course materials, my son has homework now and not two weeks later. No words, terrible company. I will discourage everyone to buy any books from them.

Terrible company

Terrible company. I ordered a textbook on the 7th of October and was told it would be roughly 3-5 working days for delivery. On the 11th I had heard nothing about it even being dispatched so I sent an email enquiry which received an automatic response that they aim to reply within 36. Over a week later I had heard nothing more so called their customer service number and was told it had been dispatched and a delivery had been attempted on the 9th. I was home all day that day so that was a lie as no one had attempted a delivery and usually deliveries will be left in the lobby of the building I live in anyway. I had also received no communication of the dispatch. I was then told it was waiting in their post office for me to collect after I paid £5.50 delivery which they refused to refund when they clearly have not attempted to deliver it to me.

Illegal Money Extortion

So we purchased four English File Teacher's Guides with Teacher's Resource Centre, for various different levels.

The rear covers clearly stated that for teachers the Classroom Presentation Tool is included. However, it was not clear how to get this to work, so we contacted OUP support. We were eventually told that to get an access code, to allow us to gain access, we were required to purchase 10 copies of the student book! I consider to be, not only dishonest but also in breach of consumer law, extorting an extra £400-500.

Under protest we did this but once we sent the Amazon invoices we were then told that Amazon was not on their (invisible) list of approved vendors, so they would only give us 3 months access!

How they can impose such a condition, especially after you have purchased and stay within anti-competition laws is quite frankly a mystery to me.

What a bunch of nasty, money grabbing extortionists!!! An absolute disgraceful company.

We are raising this with Trading Standards!
