Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 55 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people found the airport's services inefficient and poorly managed, leading to significant delays in baggage reclaim and passport control. Reviewers frequently encountered issues with security processes, noting insufficient operational scanners and long queues. Customers often reported unhelpful and rude staff, with many noting a lack of professionalism and insufficient personnel. The facilities were widely criticized for being old, tired, and often filthy, particularly the toilets, with many also noting a lack of modern amenities. Poor transport links and expensive, inconvenient parking options were also a common source of frustration for consumers. Though some people were dissatisfied with staff, a small group of customers praised the helpfulness and efficiency of certain employees, particularly those providing special assistance.

Passport Control hell at Glasgow.

At a time when we are demanding holiday hotspots increase capacity at passport control, you return to Glasgow airport to find only 5 scanners in place.
Hundreds of passengers queue for an hour to get through UK passport control in a confined area.
There is plenty of floor space for at least 20 more with a little bit of re-organising.
Health and Safety guidelines are probably being disregarded in this queuing system, what would happen if there was a fire alarm. How would 5 or 6 hundred passengers be able to clear this area quickly when there is one door in and one door out. A disaster waiting to happen!

An embarrassment to Scotland

Where to begin... Horrendous queues at security. Place is a building site, with nowhere near enough staff. Those who were working were rude and unhelpful. Then there is the departure area which looks like it hasn't been updated in 20 years.

Passport control when landing back was laughable and don't get my started on the costs of the bus or airport taxis into the city.....

Toilets.Arrived at Glasgow airport 3am on…

Arrived at Glasgow airport 3am on Sunday morning 1st June after an amazing holiday BUT an altogether stressful flight home only to discover the most disgusting ladies toilet facilities EVER in the baggage pick up area.
Surely Glasgow Airport can, in this day and age, supply and pay for cleaners to have the toilet facilities kept to a usable standard.

Long queue, few scanners.

Really long queue for very few scanners. Add at least one hour onto your return to the airport. Very disappointing operation compared to other European airports.

Buyer beware

Buyer beware, the food and drink costs in this airport are unreal! . Shocked by Starbucks prices- £9 for a glass of tapwater, a turmeric shot and a drink of melon juice
W H smith charged £3.99 for 500 ml of coke and 99p for a carrier bag.

Terrible queues for security, poor communication!

Terrible queues for security & very little or poor communication for a lot of us who were stressed that we wouldn’t make our flight! In speaking to a cabin crew member some of the issues currently relate to being understaffed due to wanting a payrise & new equipment that’s been installed & a lot of it not being operational! Shambles of a place atm, leave yourself extra time if possible!

One of the worst Airports

Limited seating area which forces you into the extremely overpriced cafè or bars. The food is the worst ever. This is an airport that is just robbing people. The lounges are expensive and limited services and understaffed.

Appalling security delays

Appalling security delays - only one gate open. Deeply unpleasant landside shopping. Airside restaurants all offer the same menu and you won't have time to grab anything as you will be running for your flight.

Seriously what the hell is going on at…

Seriously what the hell is going on at this airport. Absolute shambles. Arrived over an hour before an internal flight to find the queue for security 40 minutes. The staff were frankly rude and a disorganised mess. No communication and simple "you should be here 2 hours before flight time" yeah because with 30 years of flying round the world I needed to know this. Even with priority boarding (laughable) I only just made flight. One of the messiest security processes I've ever seen. Which I include internal India flight on which I dropped my own bag to the plane 😂. Honestly management team needs to take responsibility for this. Absolute mess.

Immigration Shambles

Arrived from Dubai on one of the world's largest passenger jets and had to queue for over an hour to get through immigration. Turned out there were only 5 electronic passport gates !!!
If you want to be an International Airport then operate like one.
Glasgow is nothing more than a very poor regional airport and should not be allowed to handle international flights.
I would avoid using this airport at all costs.

I booked valet parking

I booked valet parking. When I returned my car was in a regular space (not valet parking) and reversed up to a pillar. This meant I could barely open the doors and the boot couldn’t be used. It was a slow and disorganised experience. The service was dreadful. I complained but they weren’t interested.

Save your money and don’t use valet parking.

£8 extra for 2 minutes over the time

They charge an eye watering £7 for 20 minutes but by the time I reached the pay area it took 22 minutes so was charged £15. So £8 extra for 2 minutes. Worse this is due to their terrible and deliberately ambiguous signage for the 1 hour drop off spots which are labelled as valet parking in massive posters so you end up searching for spaces. Only afterwards to spot the tiny signs that state this is the one hour parking. My wife was going to Malawi for work and needed help with cases so couldn’t use drop off which remember used to be free or £1 for short term parking. These changes are all about profit not safety.

How do you get to speak to someone at…

How do you get to speak to someone at Glasgow Airport? When I call, I'm asked some automated questions and am hopeful when the bot tells me I'm being transferred to an agent. The line rings, and then cuts off. I have e-mailed and also, and have had no response to my e-mail. I've been trying to contact someone, anyone because the NHS discount offer for the lounge doesn't work and the telephone number at the top of the linked page takes me to NCP parking who did in fairness the second time I called, transferred me to someone who could make the lounge booking but could not apply the discount because it was an e-mail link I'd received, but they could book me in for the full price!

Deadfull placel

I had a great trip from glasow to southampton with Easyjet.
The only blight was glagow airport.
Security was fast and efficient. All downhill thereafter..
The nonsensense of winding through duty free... Really?
Then what was the main seating ares. 50% now given over to fast food crap.
Getting an actual seat to sit was difficult as a solo traveller. Almost impossible for a family group.
A profit motivated foreign owned busines that doesnt give a sh!t about its customers
