Ginger's in Chester

I have used Ginger Scooters in Chester probably around 15 times.

I would say of these rides 6 have been faulty. Scooter breaks down on you or is not performing at anywhere near the expected level.

You cannot rely on them so I wouldn't use them if I was getting a train or for my commute as 40% of the time you won't get there.

Customer service is not great but they will usually refund you without too many questions, probably because they know how poor the product is.

It's a great idea being executed very poorly which is a shame.

Scooters rarely work and customer service is awful

The scooters are a good idea and great when they work. Trouble is more often than not they don’t work. I used one recently and it wasn’t working properly. Ended up having to push it for miles. Reported it to customer service and they refused a refund saying sometimes the scooters don’t work and need pushing. They are very poorly maintained and customer service is awful. I would say only about 33% of the time will you get a fully working scooter and you’ll end up having to push the other 67% around. I asked customer service to refund the £10 credit that I had and then close my account. They refunded me £4, kept the rest and closed my account. Joke of a company

support are terrible

support are terrible. there are plenty of issues with the scooter service. as someone here said, they are great fun, but are not reliable. there are constant issues with them being faulty, or the network down, or the no ride zones not working properly and leaving you hefting the scooter about a long time after you have left them.

Dont Trust

Refused to look into a misuse of my personal data unless I provided them with more personal data.

Charges were made on my account. This was before i knew the company even existed.

Ginger scooters are not for commuting

Ginger scooters are good if you just want to have fun on an e-scooter, but not if you actually rely on them to get somewhere. They are often faulty, always piled up in the city centre, while the parking spaces out of the town are empty. The red "No go" zones where your scooter will not work are poorly placed, the scooters are very heavy, so pushing it through the red zone is exhausting and time consuming, but the absolute worse is the customer service. Any issue other than scooter breakdown on your journey takes enormous effort to resolve, if it gets resolved at all. Trying to close your account with Ginger is almost impossible, I got so frustrated with the company that I wanted them to close my account and delete my personal information. After 4 days, I'm still in the process and it's not looking good.

Lots of broken scooters

The support is a joke. I have now reported two broken scooters and each time they just respond with a silly excuse basically saying they’re supposed to stop when going uphill and it’s fine to get off them and push them up - just read the feedback and take these broken scooters off the streets already!

Zero customer support. Don’t waste your time

Still out of pocket and wasted time from faulty scooter hire. This company has zero technical support and zero customer service. Still waiting for a refund and reply to a complaint after 16 days. Don’t waste your time with this company.
