AVOID - Its a Scam!

Sent my Denon receiver for investigation of an intermittent audio channel fault on 27th November 2025 (delivered on 28th). Paid the postage myself. Also paid for the "express" GetitFixed service.

On the 5th December James from GetitFixed sent a diagnostics report which said "We cannot detect the fault on the center channel, we tested the unit 25 minutes". James also said that he could however for a fee of £276 "replace all capacitors over the advise center channel that needs attention, and all audio ouput relays".

Given he did not actually diagnose the fault (probably just sat and listened to the radio on the amp, doubt he tested anything) and therefore could not guarantee the fault would be fixed, I said 'No Thanks' and asked for the return of my amplifier.
He finally got round to printing off a ParcelForce 48 return label on the 15th December (remember, this is “Express” service that I paid for) and marked the parcel as having been dispatched that day to ParcelForce.

On the 23rd December, the amp still hadn't turned up, I emailed for an update and said that I had checked with ParcelForce and they had still not received the parcel from him. He replied the same day that the Amp "Will be collected today (23rd) or Next Monday (29th December). Really depends on if Parcel Force shows up for collection". The bit about him awaiting ParcelForce to collect the parcel turned out to be a blatant lie, he did not pay or ask for any collection by ParcelForce, it was up to him to take the parcel to the nearest parcel collection point, a Post Office only 5minutes away from his office.

I waited another week but with no sign on ParcelForce tracking that the parcel had moved from his office I chased him once more on the 31st December and again on the 6th January but he ignored my emails (as many others have reported) and I received no replies. As of today,12th January 2026, the amp is still being held by him.

I will be following this up with the Police and report this as a crime as well as contacting Trading Standards. Unfortunately, I didn't check the Trust Pilot reviews before sending him the amp.

Don't make my mistake, this company is a scam, and the "free" quotation is nothing of the sort.

Here's what I had to pay to get nothing done and have him deliberately keep hold of my amp for over a month for no apparent reason;
ParcelForce Postage (paid direct to PF) £27 next day inc Insurance
£35 for "Express" handling
£28 "Service Charge"
Return Charge (ParcelForce 48) £38

Grand Total of £128 for a "free" quote.

All these charges are mandatory depending upon what type of item you send for repair and whether you accept his fee to fix the item.

The whole thing is a scam, AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!

Be careful too with some of the positive reviews here, all is not as it appears........! Lots of old positive (some years old) reviews being resubmitted in order to make it appear that Get it Fixed has more recent happy customers than they actually have.

I wonder what incentivised these previous customers to all decide to resubmit a positive review at exactly the same time?

Nobody answers the phone.

They make such a big thing on their website about GET IN TOUCH by phone.
I have been calling all day but nobody answers.
The website has lots of fantastic technicians in white coats 'fiddling' with equipment as if they know what they are doing but I am beginning to think the true picture isn't quite as hi-tech as they wish to make out. It wouldn't surprise me if all the images on their website are not from their premises but stock photos or staged by actors!
