Avoid GD Technologies - Non - Delivery, Forced Upsell, and No Refund

I ordered a standalone PC case for R1000 through gdtechnologies.co.za and paid via PayFast. After payment, they informed me they no longer sell the case without a bundled power supply and demanded I pay extra for the bundle. I refused, as that's not what I ordered or agreed to, and requested a full refund instead.

They have not delivered the item, have not processed any refund (well past any reasonable timeframe), and have been unresponsive or unhelpful in follow-ups. This feels like bait-and-switch tactics: advertise and accept payment for one product, then refuse to supply it unless you buy more.

Under the Consumer Protection Act, consumers are entitled to goods as described or a full refund for non-delivery/non-conformity. Their refusal to refund or supply as ordered is unacceptable.

I've escalated to PayFast for a dispute and plan to report to the National Consumer Commission. Save your money and shop elsewhere—there are plenty of reliable PC component sellers in SA with better communication and refund processes.
Do not risk it with GD Technologies if you value your time and money.

No Stock, No Refund, No Communication – Avoid GD Technologies!

I placed an order for a RAM stick from GD Technologies on Sunday, 19 October. On Monday, 20 October at 15:32, I spoke to Klass Thole from 010 824 7637, who informed me that they had no stock of the RAM stick I ordered. He also mentioned that they would not be restocking it because prices had gone up — and instead tried to get me to pay more for the same item.

I refused and requested a refund, as is my right. Klass told me to send an email to request the refund, which I did immediately. Since then, I have received no response or acknowledgement from GD Technologies regarding my refund.

Today (22 October) I called again at 15:25 and spoke to Klass once more. He said he would “follow up with Godnwo,” but gave no timeline or commitment for when I can expect my refund.

This experience has been incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. I strongly caution others against ordering from GD Technologies, as it feels like they are holding onto customers’ money with no communication or accountability.

Very Poor Service

I purchased the item WIZORD 4 PCB from the this company on 05/05/2025. I received the item on 07/05/2025. I notified the supplier the same day that the item does not work and requested a refund.
I was informed by the supplier that I need to ship the item back to them and my expense and that when they receive the item they will check if it in the same condition as it was sent and then will either approve my refund or not.
I arranged for the courier to collect the item on 08/05/2025 and confirmed that they did in fact receive the item in its original box and condition. I was informed that they need to send it to the technical team to inspect which will take place on 09/05/2025 and that it will take 1-2 days to complete.
I sent correspondence via WhatsApp and email 12/05/2025 on the progress on the refund and was informed that it needs to be inspected still.
I sent correspondence via WhatsApp and email 13/05/2025 on the progress on the refund again and received a rude response below.
Good day. Just so you know, we only process refunds once we receive the report on it. And please note the refund will be processed within 7 days of the return finalization. so there is no need for any rush.
To which I responded.
It has been more then 2 days, easy for you to say no rush I am out of pocket for almost R1700 for over a week. I am sure if this was your money you would not be so easy going about it.
In South Africa, under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), consumers have the right to return faulty goods within six months of purchase. You can choose to have the goods repaired, replaced, or refunded. If the same fault appears within three months after a repair, the supplier is obligated to replace the goods or refund you.
Here's a more detailed breakdown:
Six-Month Warranty:
If goods are defective within six months of purchase, the consumer can return them and choose a remedy.
Choice of Remedy:
You can choose to have the goods repaired, replaced, or refunded. The supplier cannot force you to choose one remedy over another.
Supplier's Responsibility:
The supplier is responsible for the cost of returning defective goods, including repair or replacement.
Limited Liability after Six Months:
If the same fault re-occurs within three months of a repair, the supplier must either replace the goods or refund the consumer.
Proof of Purchase:
While not always strictly required, having proof of purchase (like a receipt) can be helpful in resolving a return.
Consumer's Right to Choose Refund Method:
You have the right to choose your preferred refund method, such as a cash refund, and cannot be forced to accept a credit note or voucher.
Returning Goods:
If the goods were not reasonably suitable for the purpose you informed the supplier of, you have 10 days to return them.
Never received a reply after this.
It has been more than a week since I made the purchase, and I am getting no where with this company. I feel that they are trying everything not to refund me.

Excellent service with attention to detail

I bought a laptop keyboard for a competitive prize. The owner went out of his way to make certain that I receive the correct model, dispatched the product well packed as promised and assisted when the courier had issues delivering the product. It was a pleasure doing business with GD Technologies and I will continue doing so in future.

Kind regards
