Disappointing experience with export bugs and lack of support

I’m really disappointed with my experience using Gamma. I created an important and detailed presentation while I was a paying member. However, when I tried exporting it (both as PDF and PowerPoint), key parts of the content were missing or corrupted — sections disappeared, characters were replaced by strange symbols, and the layout was broken.

Even worse, when I contacted support for help, they refused to assist me simply because I'm no longer on a paid plan — despite the fact that I was a paying member when I created the content. I wasn’t asking for a premium feature, just help recovering the full content I already built.

It’s unacceptable for a tool marketed as reliable and user-friendly to fail at such a basic function as exporting, and to then leave users stranded with no recourse. I expected much more from Gamma.

Disastrous Support and Arbitrary Link Blocking by Gamma

Extremely disappointed with Gamma's support. Despite multiple emails and detailed explanations, I only receive standardized responses. My own SSL-protected link shorteners from my legitimate business domain ******.ly are being blocked without any reasonable explanation.

I've sent screenshots, DNS settings, and SSL test reports confirming everything is correctly set up. Nevertheless, Gamma claims my links are "malicious" - without any justification or assistance to resolve the issue.

Five requests later, still no real help, just standard phrases and an annoying support bot. As a paying customer, I expect competent support that actually addresses my specific problems instead of dismissing me with canned responses.

Stay away if you depend on functioning support!

All I’ve received are automated AI-generated emails that do not address my issue or move the process forward.

I’ve sent multiple follow-up emails and tried reaching out through all available support channels—still nothing. It's abundantly clear that this company is deliberately ignoring refund requests and hiding behind automation to avoid customer accountability.

This kind of behavior is not just frustrating—it’s unethical. No company should be allowed to operate like this. Refusal to Honor EU Consumer Rights – Legal Action to Follow

I am deeply disappointed with this company’s blatant disregard for EU and German consumer protection laws. As a consumer residing in Germany, I exercised my legal right to cancel a subscription and requested a full refund within the 14-day withdrawal period, as explicitly granted under Directive 2011/83/EU and the German Civil Code (BGB). However, my request has been unjustly denied, and the company's response demonstrates a complete non-compliance with these legal obligations.
I subscribed using a German account, falling under German jurisdiction within the European Union, and paid using a German-issued payment card. Despite this, the company has denied my right to a refund by claiming internal policies that are incompatible with EU and German law. This is not only unacceptable but constitutes a serious violation of my consumer rights, as stipulated under §§ 355 and 356 of the German Civil Code and EU Directive 2011/83/EU.
As a result of this illegal refusal, I will now proceed with the following actions:
Filing a formal complaint via the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform:
I will submit a detailed complaint to the ODR platform, which will initiate an investigation into the company’s practices. If confirmed to be in violation of EU law, your company could face substantial legal and financial penalties, including fines and mandatory policy revisions.
Pursuing legal action in Germany:
I will engage my German legal insurance attorney to file a lawsuit against your company for financial damages, emotional distress, and inconvenience caused by your refusal to comply with my legal rights. Additionally, I will request the court to compel your company to align its internal policies with EU and German consumer protection laws.

I reserve the right to share my experience with consumer advocacy groups and online platforms to alert other consumers about your company’s non-compliant practices. This will inevitably tarnish your reputation and credibility within the EU market.
It is essential to reiterate that EU consumer protection laws take precedence over any internal company policy. Under EU law, consumers have the unconditional right to withdraw from online contracts within 14 days of purchase, without the need to provide justification. Gamma not a founder's priority, it seems

Now that I have read the reviews, I'm not surprised that customer service is avoiding me. Still waiting on them to refund my Plus sub as they did not deliver on their promise of up to 20 cards. It's more like 15. Gamma founders are from Optimizely with successful exits so it feels as if this startup is not high up on their priority list.

App is nice - but don't get fooled. Bad customer service. Server is not always working. Features they said they would fix in Q2 last year still have not been fixed for Q1 2025.

Definitely do not recommend.

I use gamma.app for generating e-books…

I use gamma.app for generating e-books and powerpoint presentations - you have no idea how good it is. I spend days on it, it never falls down and works magic. The AI is amazing. It is obviously a tool and you have to know how to use it, but the entry point is really low and the learning curve not steep at all. For what it costs it is amazing.

Customer Service is horrendous

App is nice - Customer Service is horrendous - 4 different people responding to my issue. They over-communicate and have convoluted ways of explaining how to fix a problem, which doesn't actually work. Still haven't resolved my issue and they refuse to just get on the phone and troubleshoot.

I’ve been reaching out to Gamma support…

I’ve been reaching out to Gamma support about some errors on their platform, but the customer service has been extremely disappointing. They initially said they’d get back to me shortly, but it’s been over two weeks since I sent my first email, and I’ve had no resolution. While I enjoy using the app for presentations, the lack of reliable support makes it impossible to continue. It’s clear they don’t prioritize their users, so I’m moving on to explore other platforms for hosting my presentations.

Waste of time

Gamma is a great app, WHEN IT WORKS. Don’t have planning hours or a deadline when using this app. Not for serious business, only hobbies because its performance is EXTREMELY inconsistent. Imagine planning to do work at 9 am and for the entire day your file won’t load, then suddenly three days later it works again. Support is absolutely no help. All they do a lie about the status of gamma and claim that everything is “scheduled maintenance”. Then why can no one explain why the presentation won’t load, if they even respond. It’s been 8 hours and counting thus far.

It's pretty good but then it falls down…

It's pretty good but then it falls down on something basic - formatting for use in office environments. The app is great for interpretation , analysis and text but when you actually need to use in the real world on Google Slides or Powerpoint. There's a "setting" which "implies" it can format t those sizes but reality is it can't. It comes out massive and even place has text running off over the edges. Have raised it with Support but no fix..and it has been over more than 1 maybe 2 years. So as the customer I have to spend literally hours reformatting everything - images, fonts, rewriting text to make it fit for slide use. Or I stop using it.

Don't get me started on Word - it can't even export to it.

This is the best ai tool to generate presentation, Suberb interface and the content is generated greatly!
If you have to make presentation fast use this tool, If you have to edit something from it you may export it as pptx and you can edit it. Some people may get confused as I got that if pdf is directly download when we export, while when exporting pptx it doen't automatically downloads infact the file is sent to your email which is also a good thing because we can directly login our gmail to any other device and download the file instead of just copy and pasting it on usb's etc.
