Absolutely Terrible Quality Hats

Absolutely terrible quality hats. Was sent wrong size, hat is deformed, obvious repairs made to hat which look awful, and the wide brim was simply a fedora with different colored straw added which looks terrible. This is a $10 hat sold on the beach, not a $150 hat. Company claims high quality. YIKES!

Right. Keep telling people this and eventually someone will believe it like me...the loco Americano.

Contacted the company and they don't care at all.

Photos sent to company. No effort to correct situation. DO NOT trust this company. It's a scam. I'm now in contact with Modesto Hats who seems to be legit.

Buyer beware...don't be their next fool. And their contact phone number... yeah....good luck with that. They won't answer the phone because they know they're scammers.

1st Update: I chatted with online customer service and told them that I'd be leaving a review. Their response? I kid you not, they said, "Great, make sure to send us the link!"

I have to give them some respect because that takes some serious Ecuadorian gangster cajones.

2nd Update: This company is not only dishonest, but they're also retaliatory. How did they even know my full name unless they had my Amazon order number. These people are criminals.

I can only assume at this point that Gumball Fashion is attempting to sell their fake "high quality" hats to unsuspecting customers on Amazon because the truth about their unethical business practices is hurting their online reputation.

Notice in their word salad response below that they also take ZERO responsibility to correct the situation and simply hope that their extremely low quality Panama wannabe is returned and recycled to someone else.

If this review doesn't discourage you from trusting Gumball Fashion, then you may be looking for trouble.

USA Customers: Don't put up with this scammer behavior. Boycott this company and bring back the level of service and quality that deserves our hard-earned money.

There are a plethora of other companies that make quality Panama Hats. Use YouTube and ChatGPT to look for alternatives to Gumball Fashion. Hope this helps.

Terrible

Terrible. I paid $200 for a Panama hat.It fell to pieces in 2 weeks of wear. Their customer services refuses to respond. Stay away from this company. Their products are of low quality and they will not assist you if there is a problem.

I received the below response from Gamboa. It is inaccurate. There was no mishandling of the hat. The hat shrank by more than 3 sizes, I’m a 56, and purchased a 58. That is not from mishandling. Because the width shrank, the crown expanded, creating a comically tall hat.

Further, without speaking to me, how would you know I mishandled the hat? That is a shocking allegation for a company to make against a customer.

They hat was on my hat for 2 weeks in Colombia, shrank dramatically, and the straw came apart. And yet they claim the hat was mishandled without any information.

The hat arrived with it defect. It was thr quality of the hat that is thr problem. That would not be known until worn.

Truly this is a miserable company. They sell low quality products that they market as high quality. I’ve had the opportunity to speak with a Panama hat expert in Australia and he explained this is a common problem with low quality hats.

Our team has reviewed the pictures you provided yesterday, we can see the fibers were damaged to due mishandling of the hat. As you mentioned in your email the hat arrived to your in perfect condition and it began to fall apart after you wore it for 3 weeks in Colombia. This is not related to the quality of the product but to the mistreatment that the hat received.

Better than Anticipated

The hat is extremely light weight, brim is flexible but firm enough to retain its shape. The crown is firm and retains its shape great. I ordered 1 size larger (a 60 vice 59) and it fits perfect. Any future order I would go 1 or 2 mm larger than normal. Zero complaints about the hat, would not hesitate to order another Montecristi hat from here. You will get an endless stream of emails from them - I need to figure out how to stop that.

Ship low quality product and disappear

I ordered an alpaca hoodie for my husband as a gift. It caused a rash just by trying it on a few minutes and I asked to return or exchange it. The customer service number does not work. The email is responded to by a very unprofessional person who address the customer by their email address instead of their name, and gives partial steps for an exchange that seem to be bot generated. Many emails and over a week later I finally got an address and steps to exchange the item, but most of the products are "sold out" and can be offered as an exchange. Regardless, the address given to return the item doesn't exist according to the post office. They couldn't produce a shipping label. (The company makes the customer pay for shipping.) I emailed again and they said it was the right address, but without being able to get a shipping label and ship the product back, you can't get your money back or exchange the product. Even the Google Maps photo shows what looks like a garage with a different address on the window. It's clear the are not located in the US. They are not registered with the BBB. They seem to be running a scam by shipping low quality products and not exchanging them.

You asked for a refund in july 9th, we sent you information about our returns and exchanges policies and the return address was provided in July 11th, not a week later. You then replied to the email selecting option 1, we agreed and advise you to please send us the tracking number for the returned parcel. On July 14th you asked for the return address again and we sent you the information for the 2nd time. The return address is correct and it has been receiving mail for many years.

I leave the hat hanging on the wall in my boys room as a reminder of the poor service which this company dealt me,and to remind potential customers that if you do get sold a ‘turkey’ you are unlikely to get a sympathetic ear and very probably a ‘rude’ response.Such customer service is unacceptable and the internet is a great way of letting everyone know what a shabby setup this is!
