Not a good experience

I have never written a review on trust pilot nefore but felt compelled to write one after my visit to Gail's in Earlsfield. Firstly, my daughter wanted avacado on toast (no avacado) then she ordered a caramel iced coffee (no caramel). She ordered eggs which were raw in the middle and had to be sent back. Very little on offer in terms of pastries, sandwiches (it was only 12). Coffee was almost cold but did not have the energy to go and say anything as I had already had to say something about the eggs. Never been to Gail's before and will not be returning!

If I could give 0 stars for the way I…

If I could give 0 stars for the way I was interacted with this morning, I would. I arrived as Gail’s was opening, said ‘good morning’ to one worker, who was putting chairs outside, only to be completely ignored. I repeated ‘good morning’ again, and was ignored yet again. I then asked if they were open (knowing full well they were) and the barista looked at her watch, snarled at me and said, ‘ummm ugh yes, we are now.’ I then ordered my coffee with a slightly more friendly woman, was given my coffee by initial woman, who ignored my ‘thank you, have a great day.’ A little friendliness goes a long way, particularly being charged £4.40 for a coffee! Gail’s - you need to train your staff to interact with customers better!

Mediorcre Food at Ridiculous Prices

This is my first ever review, but it had to be done!
Despite living in central London, I somehow managed to miss hearing about Gail's Bakery until just a month ago. Now, I see them everywhere! My first visit was to the Gail's on Askew Road, West London. The coffee was good, but the pastry was disappointingly doughy. The ordering process felt unnecessarily complicated, especially considering I was the only person in line. The place could have used a thorough cleaning, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt as they were closing within the hour and I had only stopped by to rest my weary feet!

My second—and likely final visit, was to the Gail's on Garrett Lane in South London. I ordered a salmon bagel, which turned out to be as unappetizing as I had feared: hard, with tired, end-of-the-day fillings. The latte was acceptable but overpriced. Not wanting to waste food or money, I asked for a bag to take the partially eaten bagel home, intending to salvage it by making a toasted sandwich. It may seem miserly, but I really have an aversion to throwing away food!

The overall cleanliness of the place was appalling. It needs a deep steam clean - it's grubby and off putting for people eating or trying to eat. The floor around my feet was littered with crumbs from previous customers, and the table was sticky and covered in more crumbs. Despite being there for about 25 minutes, I didn’t see anyone clean the tables or floors. I paid £11.90 to sit in a filthy, crumb-ridden café. How long does it take to wipe a table or sweep up crumbs? The only positive was the toilets. It was actually cleaner than the cafe area!

My disappointment peaked when I watched the assistant start removing the 'tired' food from the front counter, carefully placing it on a large tray before storing it in some refrigeration unit. Was this for tomorrow? Not my concern, as I won't be returning to find out!
