Discriminates against the 3 million people without bank accounts.

I am a huge fan of Gails’ food and the service. But today Wouldn’t take cash for me to eat. So this Company now deliberately discriminates again the poor and vulnerable and the elderly and those who cannot get an account. Appauling from a food company. So I won’t be going any more sadly.

Hello there, thank you for reviewing our bakery. Our decision to go cashless was
made to streamline our operations and enhance safety for both customers and
team. It's also in line with our sustainability efforts, as we no longer have to
transport cash (by car) from our 100+ locations. We appreciate the inconvenience
and hope you can understand we are doing this for what we believe are the right
reasons. If you would like to discuss this further, please get in touch with our
central Customer Experience team via gails.com/pages/contact quoting this
review.

A shocking experience...

The food was ok but the prices were eye watering. There is no hygiene. No table is ever cleaned. There is one toilet for both men and women.
A large section of the cafe is closed off, leaving no room for customers to sit in the warmth. When we mentioned that we couldn't find anywhere to sit the staff replied aggressively that we could sit at a tiny -and filthy- bar area along the window and next to the front door, or we could sit outside -in the freezing cold. If they could they would have shouted at us. It was a shocking experience. Spare yourself the abuse and go somewhere welcoming and clean.
