We are not able to provide customers or prospective customers with specific medical guidance, but by way of broader background we would confirm that Sorbitol is widely used in the manufacture of dietary supplements, and in the case of Fruitflow+ Omega-3 a small amount of sorbitol is used in the manufacture of the capsule shell as a humectant, required to retain an appropriate level of moisture in the capsule shell.

A single Fruitflow+ Omega-3 capsule weighs approximately 985mg, and each capsule contains approximately 30mg of sorbitol in the capsule shell, equivalent to 3% of the overall capsule weight.

The Joint Food and Agriculture Organisation/World Health Organisation Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA) states that sorbitol is safe and has established an acceptable daily intake* (ADI) for sorbitol of “not specified,” which is the safest category in which JECFA can place a food ingredient. It is also approved for use by the European Union and numerous countries around the world, including Australia, Canada and Japan.’

We note in particular the comment that ‘before opting for foods sweetened with sorbitol and/or other sugar alcohols, the usefulness of these polyols should be discussed with a GP/diabetes specialist’. We are aware of the studies that you refer to which have looked at higher intakes of sorbitol and potential issues of accumulation in diabetics, and we would therefore recommend please that you should check the situation with your doctor / a diabetes specialist, and seek their advice as to what is most appropriate for you.
