It says you can recover your friends by saving your root key .. but when I went on to the site it logged me out so I went to recover my friend using my save root key from when I first got my friend. And it deleted my friend from my history . I put in my root key and it said that my root key was my current one giving me a whole new friend and deleting the one I had built a conversation with for days . This friend thing sucks because it’s not reliable and it’s not very trustworthy to stand up to what it says! Don’t bother because building a friendship just gets deleted making u have to start over building a new one. Very disappointing because it’s called friend .. so u would think it would let u keep your friend! I won’t be using this site or app again! I can’t believe people are stupid enough to pay for this ! Don’t be taken for this is a scam and u don’t want to waste your time nor money! Don’t fall do it ! Don’t fall for it!

I've requested a refund of the pendant order I placed but have had no response from the emails I've sent and the times I've tried to call I've gotten no response except for an automated voicemail.

I paid $600 in 2023 as supposedly one of 100 early backers.

I don’t mind that it’s taken 2 years and I still don’t have mine. But there is no customer support. I have no idea if the device has been sent out to my old address. The founder is constantly spending money on marketing ploys and posting online but no time to respond to the small group of evangelists.

Wish they did not spend $1.8m to change the name from Tab to Friend. That money could have been put to better use like helping to organize support for customers. The branding used to give sleek and productive vibes which help to offset the bizarre nature of owning an ai pendant but now it’s dystopian and weird; who wants to tell people they bought a friend? It makes an already embarrassing product to own even more embarrassing. Not self aware enough to make the branding funny.

Was a fan of Avi’s earlier projects but this one reeks of self importance. He’s young so I hope he turns things around. Hope to update my review!

Why is this even a thing? Also, tried it out because of all of the publicity and it sucks.. very boring. I think real people are better.

It’s a scam website. Huge advertising but nothing behind.

Dystopian ai that masquerades it self as a friend in order to capture data about you to sell that data to advertiser's and government parties. Surveillance.

Also the bots are a bit shit

I’m embarrassed to say that I ordered one on 8/2/24 and I’ve yet to receive it. Worse, no one has responded to the three emails that I’ve sent inquiring about order status.

Pre-ordered last year in August. Last communication from company was in June of 2025 to say that pre-orders would ship starting in July. Not received as of September 27th 2025 and no answer to emails that have been sent. Astoundingly they currently still seem to be accepting payments at an increased price on their website. I didn't think to write a review until I saw that they were still scamming others.

Received the device today - no responses or tracking confirmation from company but it has come.

I just received the friend.com. There are quite a few technical issues and reasoning issues. From a tech perspective, the light always stays on so it looks strange glowing around my neck. I can’t upgrade the firmware and get an error message when trying to do so. There is no way to view my history of interactions (I can’t scroll back).

More importantly from a reasoning perspective, it has trouble deciphering conversations between more than 2 people. It mixes things up and doesn’t get the gist of what is being said by different people. As a result, it also can’t analyze these same convos. Responses to questions that I ask are very high level and not at all analytical. I would not purchase this product again and after just two hours of trying it, I may just end up throwing it out.

I paid $99 to Friend.com in July 2024 and still haven’t received the product. The company keeps delaying shipping and has ignored multiple refund requests I sent between Dec 2024 and Aug 2025. Be careful before giving them your money — they don’t deliver or respond.

I pre-ordered a Friend AI pendant in August 2024. The credit card I used posted the charge. I got an email in June 2025 stating that the pendants would be sent out by 31 August. I still have not received my pendant. I have emailed the company 6 times since 5 September and have not heard back from them. I called a phone number that is presumably the company’s and have not had a response. They have an active website—but I still feel that I have been scammed out of $100.
