I have exactly the same issue as previous customers. They keep taking money off my account even after asking for a downgrade and account closure. The chats dont resolve anything.This almost amounts to fraudulent activity. Be very careful to sign up.

I tried to downgrade my account to the basic (free) but they carried on charging me £5.99. They don't reply to messages. They say replies within a few hours, still waiting after 6 days!!

Terrible company.
No tax on Real Estate trusts if held in a isa but company refuses to give back the 20% tax.
A basic requirement of any stockbroker. Useless.

They have said they are not claiming back tax....at the moment? Maybe can't be bothered is a better way of putting it. I am assuming they are not helping themselves to it?
Note other brokers never take it in the first place.
Also the freetrade plus charges you for a SIPP even when you haven't got one?

Edit now 70 days since dividend payment into isa, still refusing to pay back tax.

They informed me that for the moment they are not refunding tax, that shouldn't have been removed in the first place.

They have not given AMC share holders their Amc preferred equity units issued by the AMC company desipte sending us messages that they would and now they are not even replying to customers' queries about it.

Freetrade have a simple App to use which makes purchasing shares simple. There site is informative and there customer service is excellent. As with all trading please read carefully all the print. I use the app basically as a game, I decided my limit was £100 and I purchased various shares from gold mining, green energy, chemical supplying etc. Do I expect to get rich ? No. I just always wanted to own shares and now I have about 2000 and yes I'm down £15 but who cares as all it takes is one crazy day and it can all turn around. If you can't afford to lose money this ain't for you however if you like a little gamble do it sensibly stick with your limit which can be from as little as £2. However I do agree with free share problem others are reporting, I got my friend to sign up through my referral link and we both never received our so called free share a bit disappointing but not the end of the world. Maybe in future they will revise the problem that seems to be common. Everything else fantastic.

They lend your shares out with no benefit to you just themselves and you will be contracted to allow them to do so if you agree to the terms and conditions. This puts you at risk from default and takes away the ownership of the purchased stock from yourself until it has been returned . Maybe i'l buy a new car and let someone else hire it out for cash sounds like a good idea : / . Now they take away the buy button lose customers and sack 15% of their staff this really is a nice company .

So where are our free shares then ? Despite doing it correctly still no free share …have emailed and no luck . Will cancel my account - don’t like promises that aren’t kept …

Modern trading app! To be honest I have only good attitude.

Terrible app with terrible customer service.

I wanted extra functionality so I paid for the plus membership at £9.99 a month. This then allowed me to make buy and sell orders based on a stock price.

I made a sell order to trigger when my stock hit a price. The sell order didn't execute but it activated my order so I couldn't delete it and sell at market instead.

Now I'm stuck holding the bag on a stock I tried to sell but the app refused to sell for me. I find it baffling that a company that handles people's money is pushing untested code live. A simple unit test would have picked this issue up immediately.

I've contacted customer service through the app (no reply), through the forum (no reply), and via email (surprise, no reply).

There are many better apps out there, please stay away from this one, it's run by amateurs, unless you want to run the risk of losing your capital as well through absolutely no fault of your own.

Been using this App for 9 months now and am very pleased indeed with it. Always innovating and very communicative. Highly recommend

It is very easy to use than other trading apps out there, customer service is amazing and respond to your questions very fast. The only reason for not giving a 5-star rating is that they do sometimes have technical issues but I guess it because they're fairly newer than all the trading app out there. But they aren't shy to ask for any form of improvements.

Shares are frozen in time as they slowly move your portfolio over to the plus account . Should be allowed to trade shares until the customer decides to sell not forced to go to the plus account. This is underhanded .
