I used their site to compare electricity prices online but found cheaper deals elsewhere. That in itself isn't an issue. However, to get to the screen with price details, I had to enter name, phone number and email address.
The next day the phone calls started. Six in the first day which I ignored.
The next day I answered. Pushy sales folk wanting to tell me all about their other services and asking when I wanted to switch electricity through them.
They didn't stop until I told them to remove my data. Personally I consider their data harvesting as a breach of the GDPR since I did not explicitly opt in to a marketing list.

Great deals. Will use again.

Received numerous calls after using the Web site. For no reason. Explained a had obtained the information from their Web site so no point calling. But still the calls kept coming. I had to state that I didn't want them calling me.

Really easy and simple switch to electricity.

I just started to use this website to switch to a cheaper energy contract several days ago. After I submitting the online switch application, I instantly received a confirmation email from freepricecompare. Afterwards I don't receive any welcome pack letter or email from energy supplier or freepricecompare to update me of any following progress. A week later, I sent two emails on different days to freepricecompare customer service team to ask for further information but nobody replied me. 12 days later, at last, I received energy supplier's letter to confirm my new contract and to my surprise, the new tariff start date is my freepricecompare online application date!
So in my opinion, freepricecompare is really doing the switch job and I really benefit from their switch deal (which at least worths the 3 stars) but their customer service email team doesn't work(never reply you) which stops me to give them 4-5 star.

I have used Free Price Compare to save money on energy bills. I saved ₤237 on a deal to stay with eon, which eon could not offer me direct

Used FPC via Top Cash Back website to successfully switch energy supplier in Sept 2017 - £32.15 payable after 40 weeks. After 15 months, still no payment. Have continually chased TCB to follow up but no success to date. FPC still listed as an accredited merchant on TCB web site offering cash bac. Most recent reviews all show no / delayed payment. Have recommended that TCB remove this company from their list.
Update - 28/11/2018
Following the initial review and contact direct with FPC, immediate response received from FPC - advised that if payment had not been progressed via TCB within 7 days, then FPC would organise this direct - this was duly completed by them within 10 days.
Extremely efficient and they kept in contact via the entire process.
Cannot thank them enough in this instance and a significantly better result than continually chasing TCB who advised not to go direct to the merchant!!

Just so fast and efficient

I do not recommend using this company if you are going through a ' cash back site', because I am still waiting for a payout going back to an energy transfer in Sept 2017. The site says normal time takes 40 weeks,which is far too long anyway,but it is now 60 weeks.Both the cash back site and Free Price Compare are not responding with any answers on when,or if they will payout Wish me luck

I changed my mind and wanted a different deal and they sorted it out in no time so totally recommend them plus they were generally slightly cheaper than other quotes.

Would never use this website again. Since having ONE energy quote from the I have been bombarded with calls from Robocallers, spammers and potential fraudsters. Even had a call from them about the quote even though I completed all their privacy questions stating I did not want to be called, or contacted by third parties.
A nightmare since and going to report them to the information Ombudsman - they are either ignoring the rules deliberately or have one or more rogue employees!!

I switched and saved £418. Simple and easy service. Will definitely use them again next year. Thanks Free Price Compare!
