Took 2 weeks to fulfil a simple salt order - zero communication from them. Not the first time I have had issues - won't be using them again and suggest you avoid...

I have ordered my water filter cartridges from Fountain Softeners for some years. I have always found them to be very helpful and knowledgeable and my order has always been delivered as promised. I would recommend this company.

I telephoned the helpline for some guidance on a water softener supplied by Fountain Softeners in a house that I have purchased. The receptionist and technical team could not have been more helpful. Highly recommend.

Absolute ball ache of a company to deal with.
Ordered a water softener mid Aug for a customer, Chased endlessly after 4 weeks as no update.
Had a call with the sales director who again gave empty promises.
Have put it in dispute with credit card company, 7 weeks of being led up the garden path, joke of a company.

Like other reviewers have experienced, this company should be avoided if you don't want the hassle and don't want to be lied to.

I ordered 60 bags of block salt on 26th June after numerous calls to chase up, they finally delivered 33 bags on 7th Sep. After chasing for the remaining 27 bags for 4 weeks, I made one last attempt on 11th Oct to get it delivered. The lady on the phone promised to escalate it and give me a call back. This of course did not happen and forced me to raise a dispute with PayPal and requested a refund for the remaining bags, calculated fairly (Unlike this company, I am honest and fair).

They obviously have stock issues, and I will understand if they communicated that to me. Tell me a realistic time frame instead of telling me that it will be delivered in a few days or next week when clearly you know it won't.

I have been out of pocket for nearly 4 months and a lot of time wasted calling them.

You have been warned.

For a business operating a model that sells products to consumers who need to return to them and procure them every few months, it says A LOT about that company when people would rather forego the convenience of using the same supplier and go elsewhere swearing NEVER to use them again. This is an example of THAT company.
I would consider myself a reasonable customer - things go wrong, stock has issues - I can understand all of that if you communicate with me.
Instead, I wasted my time after parting with my money - on endless issue emails, phone calls, webforms, left messages and finally a raised DISPUTE with PayPal. NO response or inclination to resolve the issue with the incorrect part they sent me.
Thankfully I was refunded via Paypal and this is the only reason why this review even gets a 1 STAR.

I've never been driven to write a complaint more than I have from this experience. Hopefully, others read these reviews on Trustpilot and take their business (and repeat business) elsewhere. avoid avoid avoid.

Placed an order on September 18th. It’s October 4th and it still as “awaiting shipment” tried to contact them and having no answer.

I have never dealt with a company with serious communication issues. I placed my order for 1 pallet of block salt (£757.74)on 27 July 2023 for delivery in 7 days, The website sait it was stock item. I started chasing for deleivery after 7 days and called them every 2 to 3 days and every time they kept saying should be delivered in 2 to 3 days time.

After chasing for 33 days with no delivery date confirmation I cancelled the order on 31-08-2023 and i was told they will fully refund my order back to my debit card in 3 to 4 days. The account email confirm this on 07-09-2023 and I have still not received the refund as of today 14-09-2023. i am considering reporting the company for fraud payment with my bank and taking legal action to recover my £757.74.

Buying from Fountain Softeners is always a great experience. The team are very knowledgeable and patient with any questions I may have. I would highly recommend them.

Despatch a bit slow but packed securely and arrived in good condition the following afternoon.

Bought a Harvey Crown water softener after talking to James quite late one evening. Good price and 6 months free salt was even better.

Slight delay in delivery due to supplier issue did not detract from the experience. His staff answered the phone out of hours and were very helpful.

Can be a bit slow with any follow up action.

The initial technical advice was extremely helpful and helped me select the best water softener for my property. The responses via a Live Chat on the website portal, and to my telephone and e-mail calls were punctual, helpful, and very professional. Installation of the non-electric block salt softener was straightforward with clear instructions and all the components in place. I am very pleased with the professional and friendly service, and the excellent product.

Placed my first order after speaking with a very helpful customer service team. Delivery as expected and will definitely be using them again. Highly recommended.

****Update 21st Aug - It's now been 5 weeks since I requested my refund and I still don't have my money back. It's clearly pointless emailing anymore as nothing gets done. Like most families these days we can't afford to be down £928 for weeks on end whilst Fountain Softeners just sit on the money with no regard at all for my financial loss. I've now had to ask my credit card company to try and sort it out. Buyer beware, this is the sort of stress & aggravation you can expect from this company ****

I can only reinforce what other negative reviews have said on here regarding the stress of dealing with this company and trying to get your money back. Not a word on their website or in their emails is to be believed. Their website promised next day delivery of the water softener I ordered, that didn't happen. I cancelled the order and a refund was promised within a few days, that didn't happen. Numerous emails and a poor Google review later they assured me that the refund had been processed their end and it should appear on my credit in a couple of days, that hasn't happened either. Approaching a month since I first placed my order and I'm still down £928. In this day and age I'm amazed a company like this can still operate. It's clear I'm going to have look at other options to get my money back.

Please think about what your going to put yourself through.. On the 29th May 2023 I purchased water softener and filtration system totalling over £1000. On the site with it's glossy adds buy with confidence Full Refund given if your not happy...However my experience of lies not returning my calls, no clue of when my purchase was going to arrive. I have asked for a refund. Well that is a Joke in it's self. The date to day is the 27th of July 2023 I am still waiting.. I have now spoken to a researcher from a well known consumer program,to see if they can help!! Please Keep money in your pocket and try another company!! Mr Terence Bowerman
