What an amazing service

What an amazing service. I asked for it to be delivered on a certain even when the option was not available online the day after when I was placing the order and they made it happen so I got fresh fish on a Friday. Food is just delicious. The salmon and scallop skewers are just on another level. Looking forward to the Fishcakes. Great courier company choice too and packaging ensures the fish was perfect on delivery.

Forman's Smokehouse Tour and lunch

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the Forman's Smokehouse Tour last Saturday. Starting with a fascinating talk by Lance Forman, followed by highly skilled demonstration in the factory by Master Carver, Darren Matson, of salmon preparation and carving. Finished with a stunning and delicious smoked salmon taster plate, served with fresh crusty bread, a perfect light lunch washed down with a very well complemented English wine. It was a Christmas present for my husband and we had a wonderful day, thank you!

Quality And Service You Can Trust…



Forman & Field is a truly professional company and its products are exceptional high-quality, artisan, and expertly packaged, providing a "special" dining experience at home.

I’m a long-term a customer and love that there is always an amazing selection of food to choose from which is delicious and a wonderful high-end experience.

All flavours of the Smoked Salmon and Gravadlax are simply the best I’ve ever tasted and a newly tried favourite are the fabulous Flamiches.

Everything is packed with care and the behind the scenes customer service and delivery are excellent - nothing is too much trouble for the collective team to deal with; you’re certainly made to feel valued as a customer.

An all-round easy to order/positive experience - so for fuss free mealtimes, or if you want something a little bit special, or for celebrations with loved ones, family and friends, let your first choice be Forman & Field - you certainly won’t be disappointed.

Total disappointment

I contacted the company twice today because my expected order was not delivered and the courier sent an email stating they would not be delivering until tomorrow. Seafood . Wanted for this evening ( well some of the order ) I was advised that I would definitely get a call back and they were on the case . Delivery charge is a hefty ten quid . And as for the promised call ? Zero . Despite assurances following BOTH my calls . Never again will I trust you F&F

As advised by our team, we aimed to return your call the same day once we were able to provide a confirmed and accurate update. At the time of your call, we would only have been able to repeat the information already provided by APC, and we wanted to ensure we had a clear resolution before contacting you again.
Due to your location, your order was dispatched with our shipping partner APC and resolving the delivery issue took a little longer than usual as it was an exceptionally busy weekend period for them. As soon as we received confirmation, we attempted to call you and left a voicemail when we were unable to reach you. We also followed up by email.

As outlined on our website and in our email correspondence, while we always dispatch orders to arrive on your preferred delivery date, delays can occasionally occur once a package is in transit. For this reason, we strongly recommend selecting a delivery date at least one working day before the items are required to help minimise any potential disruption. We take great pride in ensuring our food is carefully packaged and protected in transit for up to three days, also allowing our customers across the UK to enjoy their order with confidence.

We are truly sorry that your order did not arrive on your preferred day. However, we were pleased that, following our escalation, it was successfully delivered the very next morning.
We do hope this would restore your trust and we will have the opportunity to serve you again in the future.

Advise purchase elsewhere - better companies out there

Purchased a number of items previously and enjoyed.

First time purchased a cake within order. It was cold, hard and tasted awful and after trying again at room temp later was thrown.

Response from company was an apology but no refund or different item offered in exchange and thus would not use company again.

Would point out re company reply - husband tried again at room temp many hours later and it was then thrown. Obviously they look to make any excuse !!

Following your complaint we did recommend that the cake come up to room temperature before eating. Having checked your time of delivery, this did not appear to be a sufficient time period. While maintaining freshness is one of our highest priorities, customer feedback is just as important to us. Interesting talks and delicious selection of salmon to try.

Occasional it was difficult to hear either the music playing in the bar and sound on the machines in the smoke house. Would headphones be an option?

Love Forman & Field

We're a continuing growing family and love that there is so much choice to be had with putting a Christmas menu together in order to not spend too much time in the kitchen!
We have been customers for a very long time, continue to love Forman & Field though were a tat disappointed with some of the items this year. And we have enough behind us to make that comparison, am sure they would like to hear about it to make improvements.

Family time

We ordered from Forman and field for our family pre Christmas dinner . There were 8 adults and our grandson. We had to cater for 2 veggies 3 pescatarian 2 that eat meat and fish but no pink fish and my husband and I. We love cooking but did not want to spend time away from the family table . We ordered the salmon en croute with champagne sauce veggie en croute and beef wellington with proper gravy. Started with veggie terrine and duck terrine and for dessert a large cherry Bakewell with a small double chocolate brownie for our grandson. The food was delivered so well insulated . We only added our veg and potatoes. The meal was absolutely delicious, the family all took the information to use for themselves. I really can’t praise this meal enough, from ordering delivery to cooking and eating. Thank you so much and I’ve now re ordered for ourselves as there is just so many things to choose that I would order in a restaurant, that now I can buy at a much lower cost and stay in the warm .

Food arrived a day late and delivered…

Food arrived a day late and delivered to the wrong address. The box when we eventually retrieved it was soaked through and looked like someone had dropped it or played football with it.

Traditional piccalilli was no better than cheap piccalilli from a supermarket. Veg was chopped tiny and the whole thing tasted of nothing - very poor and huge rip off

Forman and Field used to be good, but since expanding outside their traditional fish and salmon they have gone down hill. My poor grandmother who used to buy her salmon on Ridley Rd market would be turning in her grave if she new how poor this had become - no longer care.

Ordered for Christmas, picked our food and the delivery date and APC delivered on time. The food is delicious. We had friends round on the 23rd and everyone loved the food from Forman and Field.

Total Christmas Let down and no effort…

Total Christmas Let down and no effort to rectify.
My order failed to arrive and I was told they had just forgotten to send it! Not what you want to hear on 23rd December with guersts arriving in 24 hours! Absolutley disgraceful. I have been a long standing customer and they could have sent a courier out. No manager to take control just kids who keep saying sorry. I will never use this company again. Shocking customer servcie! offered me a credit note! No thank you a full refund please. This has really upset me as I am not well and had relied on this delivery.

Appalling

My order failed to arrive and customer services manager I spoke to was less than helpful. I was told the food would be delivered on Saturday which I was not happy with as this had fresh lobster in the order. I advised as the delivery failed to happen then I require a refund and I was told I could not have one as their packaging was sufficient that if it arrived the following day it should be fine. I dispute this due to the contents of the food I had ordered. I kept having to chase to find out what was happening with the order. The courier APC has advised this will be delivered on Monday, which clearly is not acceptable. I called Foreman and Field yet again to advise on this and ask for a refund and yet again they failed to come back to me. The service that I have received has been extremely poor and frankly I would have expected better, and I have had deliveries numerous times recently but do not think I will be shopping with them again.
I thank you for your responce but these were the new couriers that you were using. They failed to arrive on Friday and you advised the parcel would arrive on Saturday which it failed to do. There was lobster in my order and that would not have been okay to eat three days later. Due to these issues i would not be confident in ordering from you again.

I sincerely apologise for your recent experience. While we expect 99% of our orders to arrive on time, there are occasions during very busy periods when a small number of orders may be delayed. It is our policy that resolutions happen after the delivery unless the package is deemed as lost. This was advised, as we find that on more occasion our customers are happy with their order on arrival. This also ensures that our customers are able to inspect their own orders. We are more than happy to assist with a resolve once the package is received, like in your case.

That said, we have put a lot of effort into ensuring our packaging is tested and is designed to keep food protected for up to three days in transit.
When we escalated your delivery, your order was expected to arrive within 24 hours and we were confident it would remain in good condition. That is why we recommended waiting for delivery to arrive before offering a solution . We understand how frustrating delays and difficulties contacting couriers can be, which is why we do that on behalf of our customers. This can take time around during busy periods, such as Black Fridays.
Customer service is extremely important to us and because we know our delivery partners reflect directly on our brand, we have recently added an additional courier in order to improve reliability going forward. We are keeping a close eye on this service to ensure our customers receive the best service going forward.

Great food and the tour is well worth doing

We were gifted a tour of the smokery which included a lunch.
What a really interesting time we had.
Staff were all great and the tour was fascinating.
Lunch was delicious and we enjoyed the different tastes of the various smoked salmon so much we bought some home with us.
Highly recommend both the tour and the very tasty salmon

When you want something a little bit special …….

When you want something a little bit special ……. I had two separate orders. Amazing selection of food that you just don’t see in the supermarkets. Expertly packaged and products look far nicer than they appeared on the website. Beautiful pack of smoked salmon included with my order as a free sample (it lasted approximately 5 minutes before I scoffed it 🫢) it was absolutely delicious. I will certainly be reordering from this company.

A proper Big Birthday Celebration

It was straightforward to select the items , as the descriptions were helpful. Ordering the food and selecting a delivery date were uncomplicated.
The food arrived when promised, and was easy to prepare. Our guests really loved the food, especially the flamiches and pork pies. All were delicious and really good quality.
I wouldnt hesitate to buy from this company again.

Received beef wellington

Received beef wellington , ( 2 individual ones). We all know what they shud be - fillet steak with pate in pastry. These definitely were not that. They are some sort of shredded beef. Wen I called to complain was told it's clear on their website theirs consist of " pulled beef'. Had this been obvious I wouldn't have ordered. Won't make this mistake again.
