Folding Door Shop Reviews 

This company took my order, sent round a surveyor to measure, took an additional manufacturing deposit and then went bankrupt! They have a history of this and took my money, knowing they were going under! Immoral behavior! when the owners, surface again, with another folding door shop! DO NOT TRUST THEM

I am also pursuing legal action against this company (Folding Door Shop is one trading name of Home Right Shops Ltd).

I contacted the Insolvency Service and the company is still showing as active. But they advised me that the company has submitted a claim to be wound down and that this will happen on 2nd Nov 2018 unless Companies House puts a stop on it. They told me I should send an email to Companies House objecting to the request from this company to be closed down as they owe me money. The status of the company currently shows as "Active — Active proposal to strike off." For as long as the company is still active they can be taken to the Small Claims Court. It is very straightforward to submit a claim to the Small Claims Court online via moneyclaim.gov.uk.

There are clearly lots of us who have been scammed by this company. Maybe if enough of us take the necessary steps we can stop these crooks from operating (see last link given below).

We are taking Lee Crowcher to court as we believe Lee as Managing Director / owner has wrongfully traded and failed to act in time and failed to act reasonably by taking payment for the windows and doors KNOWING that the FDS / company could not possibly or very unlikely provide all of the paid for upfront goods and services. We believe that the defendant is personally liable for the repayment of the debt of the company for the reasons detailed and should have known the company had no reasonable prospect of surviving the problems it faced. The defendant had time to address this problem with customers who had paid.

It looks like there are lots of other people in the same situation. Lee has failed to communicate to its customers and we have been directed to insolvency company in Sheffield. I would recommend that you take the same course of action as we are unlikely to get any money back but Lee must be stopped from doing this again.

Total crooks.
Took my money, wasted 2 months of my build time by constantly delaying promised delivery and then finally ran off with the money. Thoroughly furious.

Cant find the company any longer. However I aim to track down Wayne Wadley (their salesperson I was told) and Lee (the owner) so that I can sue them so that they never do something like this to anyone ever again. For those stuck in the same position as me - you can trying tracking down these crooks as well.

Has anyone made any progress on tracking them down? We paid upfront, as they insisted, and the job hasn't been completed...one year later. Went to small claims court, but now can't contact them.

Home Right Shops Ltd working as Folding Door Shop. If the owner has sold the assets of the company as Ten Day Windows say. The owner has put himself in serious trouble. This company has simply closed its doors not advised any of us what is happening. On the companies house website, there are three addresses for this company I guess two of them are the home addresses of the owner's anyone living close enough could drop in and let us all know what is happening.

Same terrible experience with this Company as everyone else..

Wayne turned up over an hour late to measure up in his expensive BMW, took some shabby measurements and then spent another hour telling us why his Company was so good..

Needles to say, we smelt a rat but not before paying £800 deposit for our order. We are just thankful we didn't pay a further £10,000 they asked for but went with someone else who was several thousands of pounds cheaper.

If anyone has any joy with trading standards, can you post here?

They have definitely closed, I rang a nearby company and they confirmed this. We are now £1200 out of pocket. Interestingly on one attempt at contacting through the website it sent us to another company called tenday.co.uk based in Liverpool. One of the sales people said that they have bought the assets of FDS. Not sure what this means exactly. Another company that seems difficult to get hold of, and their email doesn't work! All very suspicious.
Have exhausted all routes through citizens advice so will now be passing this on to trading standards although not expecting any joy

Disgusted at this company, taking innocent people’s money then disappearing off the face of the earth, have left me 8 months pregnant with no windows and doors in back of house, devastating. Owners and employees in on it and don’t have any shame to do this to people.

This company has gone bust. I have been trying to get newly fitted doors guaranteed. No such luck, Smarts don't want to know nor do Customade who made the doors they say not their problem and can only deal with their customer the folding door shop. I have doors with no warranty. I cant explain how angry I am.

They must have gone under. Site is down. Emails now bounce. Time to contact trading standards.

We looked at companies supplying bi fold doors for a while as we are doing some renovations, The quote came through quickly, a survey was booked and the guys who came was friendly and professional. 4 weeks FDS said for manufacture. We paid a deposit and a production installment and since then, no response, from phone calls, no response from emails. we are pulling our hair out! I suspect the company has gone under and no longer exists as why would a reputable company take your money and the not respond at all! I'm surprised the website is still up! DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY T ALL, THEY ARE FRAUDULENT. THEY CANNOT TAKE YOUR MONEY AND THEN NOT SUPPLY THE GOODS OR USE YOUR DEPOSIT FOR SOMETHING ELSE, LIKE PAYING OFF CREDITORS!

Absolutely awful, missing items on our order, which they have admitted to and yet will not do anything about, I am shocked at how they began to deal with the issue and even more so now as they aren’t answering the phone!! Honestly shocked at how terrible this experience has been. Will be instructing solicitors to deal with our issues now as they are not complying with the consumer rights act 2015

Straight forward company to deal with. No hard sell just honest professional advice which is what I needed. Would recommend

Incompetent. We ordered a large set of bifold doors, a single window and a set of French doors with adjoining side panels.
Scott assured us that the order would be delivered within 6 weeks, but probably more like 4. That was the first week of March.
6 weeks later, a single window, a damaged French door frame and only one side panel turns up in little to no packaging (the French doors had been wrapped in cling film only!)
We also received no joiners for the side panel(s) to French doors. AND the cills for the French door setup arrived as three individual pieces, rather than one complete section to sit under the French doors and side panels.
So not only was the initial delivery only half of what we ordered, but some of it was damaged and some of it was useless!
When I spoke to Wayne initially, he said we hadn’t ordered any bifold doors, even though we had paid for them and signed the order contract for them. Wayne blames Scott for putting the order through incorrectly and assured me he will rectify the problems, including a replacement French door frame which he had seen photos of and agreed to replace.
Another 4 weeks later, we were still no further in getting our complete order. Wayne continually blamed the manufacturer for not providing a completion date. For 4 weeks. At this point our builders couldn’t stay on site any longer with our extension coming to an end so had to move on to their next job. Wayne kindly agreed to fit them all free of charge.
FINALLY we got another delivery which was to complete our order. All it had was the bifolds. Still no side panel and no replacement frame.
Started trying to talk to Lee Croucher the director after Wayne admitted he carried no weight with the manufacturer and Lee would be able to get some answers. Sadly not it would seem, as numerous meetings with the manufacturer and 2 weeks later still we had no completion date offered. Nor were the FDS fitters contactable at all to fit our bifolds at the very least.
It took the threat of legal action to get Wayne to promise a date of delivery of the remainder of our order.
We finally received the second side panel 3.5 MONTHS after ordering! We never did receive a replacement for the damaged French door frame. Instead, Wayne had another right hand door sent out to us. Why he did this, I will never know as he doesnt responds to emails.
Also, after assurances from Wayne that the joiners would not add any width to the overall opening required for the French doors to side panels, I had to cut the door opening wider by 60mm just to accommodate this setup. He had sent out external joiners rather than internal. For an operations manager, he really doesn’t seem to know much about the products his company sells or about the company’s overall operation. But for a director of a company to show so little interest in a £000’s order, it’s not surprising the other employees would care so little.

The Folding Door Shop- gets your order wrong, delivers it late, delivers it damaged and is incapable of resolving their own errors.

By the end, Wayne had become rude on the phone to my wife, accusing us of ordering incorrectly and harassing them. Note to Wayne- you will get the odd email at least every other day if you continue to ignore requests and consistently fail to deliver on your promises.

I wouldn’t ever consider going through this with them again. Which is a shame, because the quality of the aluminium units is actually very good.

We now have everything fitted, including the damaged French door frame which we will be pursuing a refund for since we had been left with no alternative for months on end. Unfortuantely, the French doors weren’t fitted correctly (the frame wasn’t fixed to the head or the cill AT ALL) by the FDS installer and as expected we had numerous promises from him that he would come back, but eventually we had to get somebody else in to finish the job properly for us.

To top it all off, we now find out that FDS nor its installers are FENSA registered, meaning we will now have to pay to get someone else in to sign off the installation.

Not a satisfied customer.

For anyone looking for Bifold Doors and Lantern's, look no further than here. We had surveys carried out by 3-4 other companies to get comparison costing's. The Folding Door company, It does what it say's on the tin, came up with their costing's, supply and installation on time and budget. Their professional installation team were a pleasure to have on our property. (they like lemon drizzle cake).

We paid deposit for the doors on the 23rd April. Job number 4779. Before we ordered we were assured that they were confident the bi fold doors take up to 15 days to be fitted even though the contract mentioned 3-4 weeks.
I have been chasing them for 1 week trying to get a answer on installation date. Every time I speak, I get the standard response that the factory has not informed them when they will deliver.
We are now in the 4th week, only to be told that the doors have an estimated delivery date for 2 weeks over the 4 week deadline. Still no commitment on the installation date.
I will update my comments when the doors have been fitted or a refund provided.

Sales team were really good, had a slight settling problem after installation, but they came the next day to rectify this, we're really happy with the doors.

Only negative is that they only take Credit Cards for the deposit, then the rest next needs to be a direct bank transfer (consumer loses credit card protection for remaining balance). Would have given 5* if I could have used my AMEX credit card and earned points/airmiles. Most companies will accept AMEX these days and almost unheard of to not accept card payment for full amount, they would get much more business if they did, I only realised this after I had paid deposit and would have gone elsewhere if I had read the T&C in advance, you probably find the extra fees they incur processing credit cards would be covered 10 times over by the additional business FDS would get!!

Appalling! Delay tactics and excuses. Has not come back as promised to install the rest of our windows / bi-fold doors. Been calling them daily to chase for 2 weeks now with no response. We are now left with no option but to take it up with the ombudsman. Avoid at all cost.
