The first part of my flight from brazil…

The first part of my flight from brazil to germany, with connection in lissbon got delayed, so that I lost the connection. Since it was right after the apagão in portugal, the hotels where full and I only got a new flight two days later.

Tap told me I had to book a hotel myself, since all their hotels where booked.
So I did, took an uber to the hotel and 2 days later back to the airport.
Now after 3 months I got the money for the hotel, transport and the delay in my account. So it took some time and nerves, but now I am quite happy with tapair. 4 stars, because it was still delayed and I had to do the Arrangements myself, but it all worked out and I even got to see cascais.

Stolen Vouchers

I'm a long time customer and have flown my family to Portugal and the Azores many times over the years. Our flights booked in 2020 were cancelled due to the pandemic and I was not given the option of a cash refund, instead forced to take a voucher for a future flight. Subsequently the vouchers were simply "expired" and rendered unable to be used, thus the company seized and kept over $1000 of my money with no recourse.

Awful (UPDATED)

UPDATED AT FOOT OF REVIEW

Awful. Cancelled my morning flight and bumped me to an evening one which was no use to me. I tried to use the website to change to a flight on the previous day, but the system went into a loop. In the end I booked the extra flight anyway, and then tried to call Customer Services - hopeless. I could never get through. So I sent an email, asking for a refund - no reply. I have been flying with TAP for over 30 years, and I wonder why I bother. Their computer system and their customer services are DREADFUL.

HERE'S MY UPDATE

Still not resolved by the time I got to Lisbon. Then I discovered that my return seat had been cancelled, because I hadn't been on the unwanted outbound flight to which TAP had bumped me - even though my email clearly told them that I had booked an alternative flight and wanted my ticket for the flight they had put me on to be cancelled. It was no use complaining to the Customer Service desk at Lisbon Airport - the assistant told me she couldn't get me back to Manchester unless I booked a fresh seat. So, that's FOUR tickets I had to buy for the full trip.

I decided to up the level of complaint, and emailed BRUNO MARTINHO, who claims to be the 'Director of Customer Services'. No reply. So I upped my complaint again, and emailed LUIS SILVA RODRIGUES, who is called the 'Chief Executive Officer'. I didn't even get the courtesy of an acknowledgement.

This *@$&!+~xs 'airline' has cheated me out of hundreds of Euros, and by the look of it I'm not the only one.

A large part of TAP is apparently up for sale, with Lufthansa looking a likely purchaser. May I suggest that €10 looks a suitable price.

Avoid this airline like the plague.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. We were not notified of a change in flight, we only realised when we attempted to check in before and the site couldn’t find our reference number.
When trying to get a refund over the phone, none of the emails that contained the needed code to request a refund would come through. The entire process was complicated and untrustworthy.

We recently flew with TAP to Brazil for the holiday of a lifetime. My partner suddenly passed away, and I have been trying to get a partial refund for the flight. My broken-hearted son has been passed from pillar to post by the untrained staff, please think carefullyully before using this company.

With difficulty we booked online and…

With difficulty we booked online and with even more difficulty tried to add reserved seats (at extra cost) but they did not recognise their ticket numbers. Checkin took hours using several different devices and web browsers. The actual flight was OK and would have got three stars but the dire website and the inability to contact a human makes it a one. Avoid unless they offer a great deal.

The worst travel experience of my life

The worst travel experience of my life

My experience with TAP Air Portugal was an absolute disaster from start to finish. My original flight (TP1690 from Funchal to Lisbon) was delayed multiple times and then cancelled altogether, causing a complete collapse of my travel plans. Instead of providing a proper rerouting, TAP issued me a standby ticket without warning — which meant I was denied boarding in Amsterdam because the flight was overbooked. I ended up stranded, had to rebook again, and arrived at my final destination over 14 hours late.

To make things worse, I had to resolve the situation entirely on my own, with no help or communication from TAP staff. There was no support, no information, and no care. I was given a useless €10 voucher I couldn’t even use. Now TAP refuses to pay compensation, vaguely blaming “bad weather” — even though many other flights departed the same day from the same airport.

TAP has shown a complete disregard for passenger rights, European regulations, and basic customer care. I strongly advise everyone to avoid this airline at all costs.

I should have read the reviews

I should have read the reviews. Massive delays, rude service, terrible food, and impossible to get compensation for flight delays which are required by law. The website does not work and the customer service rude and combative. I regret flying with them.

TAP Air Portugal don't have modern…

TAP Air Portugal don't have modern aircrafts and their prices are not competitive. However, their staff are very friendly and helpful at the airport and in the aircrafts. Their customer care service also provides good services and patiently helps. Recently I am struggling to get acknowledgement of Medical Authorisation for Travel. They need to be more proactive and acknowledge the receipt. Their department is in different site and taking more than 72 hours to reply.

There is absolutely nothing good to say…

There is absolutely nothing good to say about this airline with the exception of a few (very few) employees who are nice, and try to make you few valued. However, the overall experience, from customer service to onboard services are pathetic. They will keep you in a bus to board the plane for a long time, they won’t help you with date changes even if it is their own fault, they serve the worst food onboard, the flight attendants are for the most part rude, the flights are constantly late, and the cost benefit is literally ZERO! BOOK ELSEWHERE!!

Forcefully put my hand carry bag into checked luggage despite explaining that I have critical asthma medications in my bad and I need those medications during travel. Worse customer service experience. The boarding agent lady didn’t disclose her name and told me her name Sbdh Santosh at the LIS airport gate N47.

Horrendous experience ever!!

Horrendous experience ever!!! I have never seen such an incapable airline before! There were so many delays with this airline. Completely unreliable. Flight was delayed multiple times, landing was delayed 3 times, even the baggage claim was delayed by almost 2 hours!! This whole journey of 3 hours totalled to almost 7 hours with this stupid airline. I would never fly with them again. They make you compulsory check in one bag which is supposed to be a carry on and they always delay the baggage claim. Even one of the flight attendants was so rude to so many people...it's horrible. The Lisbon airport is also a freaking joke! There are no seats! Also all the gates are next to each other and the airport does not have a AC so it's a lop of people in small area leaving the whole airport to be humid! When you get off the plane, they take you to the terminal by bus (cause the airport is so small), which again delays everything. I would NEVER fly with them again. EVER. save yourself some money and a horrendous experience with them! AVOID!!!!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I spent nearly £800 on 2 flights with this company and, due to completely unforeseen circumstances, I had to cancel - 2 months before the travel date. I checked the website for their cancellation rules and it seemed that I would lose 40 euros per ticket. So I cancelled accordingly, but did not receive a refund. When I called to ascertain when I would receive the refund, I was told there would be no refund, as I had booked economy flights (unbeknownst to me). So I have lost all of my money and I will be taking further action, as they completely misrepresent the facts of their cancellation policy! AVOID

DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THIS COMPANY

DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THIS COMPANY! My flight was delayed and they’re told me serveral times I Will get compensation for my expences but I lever got anything back. They are robbing their customers, if you think about Booking through them, don’t do it. I would love to get my money back but am sure they Will never respond to me.
