Great customer service, very detailed survey report
Great customer service. Helpful call centre. RICS accredited surveyor and the company is also on RICs approved list, so booking them gave me peace of mind. I am thankful for the survey done on such short notice, however got a bit worried when I did not hear anything back from them for almost 10 days. But when I finally got the Level 3 structural survey repot back, I understood how much time and effort it takes to create one. It was 150 pages, with lots of minute details, and pictures. Could be an overkill for usual house purchases, but if it is an old and worn out building like mine, then I would definitely recommend a Level 3 survey, and will hundred percent recommend Flettons.
High quality survey & report
I'm very happy with the service I received from Flettons. I received the report a couple of weeks after the survey but it was worth the wait. It was incredibly detailed and comprehensive. It made me realise the full extent of what I was getting into. I chose the Level 3+ which outlines the estimated costs of renovation. It helped me a lot in making a decision about how to proceed.

Poor communication and service
Poor communication and service - accuses me of missing things when it is their system that's causing the problems. I made the full payment but they still CANCELLED the survey just an hour after confirming it once I asked clarifying questions regarding their Terms and Conditions.
My last email to them details how bad it is:
Thanks for your email. I acknowledge your decision to discontinue your services, but I do not accept the implication that I was overly negative or distrustful from the outset.
I appreciated the quick scheduling of the survey, but I found it to be of poor form to cancel the survey only an hour after confirmation, particularly as full payment had already been made, without any prior discussion with me. I understand you tried to call, but I was at work and unable to answer; that does not justify such an unilateral action.
You described earlier communication issues as "technical glitches", but from my perspective, it reflected a pattern of poor service. I made the effort to call you on Monday and was told I would receive the two quotes I asked for and an email containing the discount code by 6pm. When that didn't happen, I followed up on Wednesday via Whatsapp and was again told to expect an email within 20 minutes. It didn't arrive. At no point during this delay did anyone from your team take the initiative to follow up with me.
When you eventually explained near the end of the day on Wednesday that your CRM system can only generate one quote per profile and you would need a second email address to generate two quotes. While I appreciated the clarity, I found the accompanying remark - "Most of our clients are typically dealing with one property at a time, so this issue doesn’t arise often" to be a poor excuse. It would have saved both of us a lot of time and effort had you informed me of this early on. It should be your responsibility to identify system limitations and communicate them upfront; it is not the client's job to discover them through delays.
I've made considerable effort to engage with you despite these issues - I chased up delayed responses asked clarifying questions in good faith and paid promptly when I felt the explanation was adequate. I believe I was courteous and reasonable. I hope you can appreciate that I work full-time so I have to use time before and after working hours and break times to do all this. To minimise further delays, I read through your terms as soon as they came through in the morning before starting work and asked for confirmation on the points I wasn't sure on. To clarify, I am not focusing on the negatives, I am simply making sure that I understand a contract which I am being asked to sign. Perhaps you don't read what you send to clients but I read documents that are sent to me.
For your clarity, I didn't receive an automatic receipt from Stripe which is why I asked for confirmation of payment, and yes, I checked the spam and junk folders before raising this. Additionally, if the hyperlink to your complaints form does not work when clicked on, then perhaps consider updating the link. A client should not be tasked with the job of detecting mistakes in your Terms and Conditions. FYI, the URL embedded within the link is different to the URL displayed which is why it doesn't work.
I was not distrustful from the outset. After reading the reviews online, I came into this process fully prepared to accept your much longer turnaround time, higher pricing and unresponsiveness because I hoped the final report would be worth it. My frustration only built after unkept promises, accusatory responses and having my time wasted. You have demonstrated that you do not value my business and further delayed my home-buying process by forcing me to scramble to find and instruct another surveyor on a busy workday.
To be clear, I do not question your technical competence as a surveyor, which seems well-regarded. But based on this experience—and what is echoed in some of your other reviews—your customer service and internal communication leave much to be desired.

As first-time buyers with no prior experience purchasing property, we needed an experienced surveyor who could guide us through the process step by step. It was also done exceptionally quickly and even faster than Flettons originally said. The survey itself was done much sooner than expected and they produced a summary report the next day. Moreover, they delivered the full report within two days.
