This company was excellent in every way. They coordinated three complex moves both local and long distance with efficiency. They wrapped and unwrapped furniture with care. They went above and beyond.

Awesome service with great communication from beginning to end. Adam and team made things very easy and were on top of everything. Nanoom and Miguel are top notch movers who are so nice and efficient!

From the first assessment walkthrough to the packing and unloading everyone was in constant communication and polite, efficient, and fast. Every one of my possessions was carefully wrapped and packed. FlatRate staff made a stressful situation as easy and seamless as possible.

The team here was amazing! Made my move so easy from NYC; the movers were so professional, kind and efficient especially considering the narrow hall + 3 three flights of stairs! Would recommend to everyone!

This was my third move with Flatrate (one overseas and two in New York City) and I’ve always had a great experience. The crew did a great job—even with a challenging entryway at the move-in location. The team was also very flexible with some last minute changes. Definitely recommend.

I recently used Flat Rate Moving for my international move from New York City to Australia. We booked our move with Flat Rate because they assured us they did moves from the US to Australia “all the time”, and ensured us it would take no longer than 11 weeks to arrive. In fact, our quote is clearly marked “UP TO 11 weeks” in the timeframe in our signed agreement. It’s been over 15 weeks and we are STILL waiting for our furniture and contents to arrive. We have now been told our shipment will not be arriving until mid March, and on top of that, it can take another month for it to clear customs. This means that all up it will be over 20 weeks by the time we may get our things, probably closer to 6 months which is absolutely unacceptable. If we knew this was the case we would have used another company.

We moved internationally with two young children (a 1 and 3 year old) and we have had to spend so much money out of pocket to buy things and replace items that should have arrived by now. Moving internationally with two children is stressful enough, but Flat Rate made the process worse by taking so long to arrive, and on top on that being unreachable and not providing a refund of some form.

Not only were we lied to about the where abouts of our container, but also the team has been MIA and no one is getting back to us. Thank goodness we put an Air Tag in our shipment so we could keep an eye out on it and track it. It was sitting at the docks at NYC for over 6 weeks, all the while the team at Flat Rate was telling us that it was “en route”. It was not. As I write this review the Air Tag is sitting in SINGAPORE!

The MOST frustrating part is that since being told it’s now not arriving for more than double the time we were originally quoted, I have not been able to reach anyone at Flat Rate. I have sent countless email follow ups, and nothing. The only person I can reach is the sales rep who I originally booked the move through, and whenever I reach him he tells me customer service will be in contact (clearly to get rid of me). But then no one calls back. And he only answers when I call from a private number. Can you imagine?! This is so unacceptable.

Bottom line, do NOT use this company for an overseas move. They are a mess and do not have it together.

The delivery crew (Saïd and Abdul) were very polite, helpful and professional. They arrived early, worked diligently and treated my belongings with care. They were considerate and pleasant to deal with. This was my sixth move with FlatRate and I would always recommend them.

They didn't send enough movers (we were told one got sick) so the move took much longer than expected. Our my new building charged a large late fee. They said they would cover partial and didn't even cover the amount they said they would pay which was less than half anyways. That was another lie. Emails continue to go unanswered. I would absolutely stay away from this company, we wish we went with Piece of Cake instead. Please learn from our mistake and do the same.

Edit: They are saying they are "extremely short staffed." Even more reason to stay away - if they do not have the employees to run their business, why would you hire them?

Edit v2: They called me and told me that part of the issue is my "tone" and that I should not be surprised by how this was handled given my tone. Again, after a year of overcharging me and 3 months of ignoring my emails.

Efficient, excellent packing, super detailed and very careful.

Mustafa, Hamza and Yusuf were all excellent, prepared, professional, careful, and friendly on the prep and pickup of our items. They were on time and efficient throughout the process. Bernard from sales and the dispatch staff made the process easy and clear. Now waiting for long distance delivery.

This was my fifth move with Flatrate Moving since moving to New York. They’ve always provided great service, no hassle pricing and everything transparent with no gimmicks. The team of movers have been professional, friendly and efficient. This last move was a bigger move, because we have more stuff, and they worked their tail off and until the last minute they were super nice and helpful. Thank you Flatrate moving. Special mention to David, Leah, especially the moving team, Alexander, Bienvenido and Jose.

These morons didn’t even use bubble wrap to pack very expensive valuable art to ship overseas from New York to london, so it is all badly scratched and damaged including a mirror. My contract stipulated 8 weeks for my stuff to arrive - it came weeks later and only came because I wrote nonstop to their entire staff. It was a nightmare everyone was unreachable, had zero clarity on when I was getting my stuff, very poor communication with their team delivering my stuff in the UK, and the CEO of the company Mike Kessler is a joke and absolutely useless. It’s embarrassing he would rather save money stealing mine than save his reputation and refund me for a nightmare of a move that violated my contract and ruined my stuff. They told me I would be hearing from their claims department since my stuff was delivered way beyond the defined time period per my contract, and of course they ghost me. I had no choice but to file a dispute with my bank and 6 weeks later flatrate fights it. I am taking them to court and sharing this experience on every website until these liars and cheaters give me my money back. For people so lazy they can’t respond 100 emails at a time asking the status of my stuff I am moving, I am shocked they fought my bank! Anyway this was a horrific experience and I warn you now do NOT use flatrate unless you want your stuff thrown in a box and damaged and never know if and when it will come. And cherry on top they charged my card random fees and had no idea why and it took them 20 emails to finally ask their accounting department, acknowledge it was an error and refund me. This “business” should be shut down. A scam!

Both the sales/planning process as well as the move itself were as smooth as could be. This is my 3rd move with FlatRate and I've only had good experiences with no issues. The one time I strayed for a lower price, the company lost a large chair and broke a bunch of dishes. Lesson learned.

Juan, Alex, and Mario were a great, conscientious, and efficient team. Their teamwork meant that they could move a lot of items quickly while still paying attention to how to place fragile boxes/items safely and take care of furniture. Their communication was good both within the team and with us, and they were very good at making efficient use of space in both the truck and our storage unit. This was our second move using Flat Rate, and we were very satisfied with the quality of service we got both times, but were particularly impressed with this team as they had to both pack and unpack the truck within the course of a single day (our previous move with Flat Rate was long distance, so packing and unpacking were on separate days).
