I am updating a review that i published in November . I have purchased many products from 5 star . Until the issue with the NOS zippers I sent in exchange for a certain A2 their sewrvice and quality was amazing . Update , after a few months after my negative review , five star stepped up and sent me a custom made jacket that was nearly perfect . For the price , their quality is amazing . I own original A2s, B3s g8s ,Anjs ets from many suppliers including lost worlds , eastmans , aero and goodwear and Fivestar is truely one of the best value /quality offering .

I ordered an A2 jacket using the standard sizing based on my measurements. I also selected wool cuffs and a fur collar, which I later discovered automatically made the order “custom.”

Unfortunately, there are several issues. The collar attachment feels outdated/poorly thought out (the buttons can scratch your neck, making it uncomfortable to wear). The snaps for the collar are beige, and instead of leaving them as-is, they attempted to dye them to match the lining. The result looks uneven, almost like a stain rather than a proper finish.

The biggest problem, however, is the sizing. The jacket is labeled as a size 42, but it does not fit like one at all. Despite this, they refuse to address the issue because the order is considered “custom.”

To be fair, the leather quality itself is good. However, their approach to handling customer concerns is disappointing. At this point, it feels better to walk away with an ill-fitting jacket than risk spending more money trying to resolve the issue.

Best jacket out there very nice leather and design

I bought a jacket from five star leather through there ebay shop but when it arrived it was unwearable due to hugely outside arms in lenght and width causing body to never site true the company accepted the jacket was at fault and offered a replacement for free and saying I could keep the original jacket but the jacket was so poorly made it was of no use to me so I asked if it was possible to pay extra for a different style to avoid another disappointment this they accepted so I chose a £100 more expensive item which I paid, send my measurements for a black steerhide 30s style unfortunately when the new jacket arrived it was brown so I contacted fivestar only to be told we've done enough for you so basically take it or leave it, there customer service is questionable as basically I have paid full price for the jacket and got another that is so badly made it's a laughing stock the original jacket was a capeskin holygrail which was truly awful. Additional after read the fivestar reply the first jacket was very poorly cut making it unfit for purpose which fivestar accepted otherwise why would they offer a new jacket and tell I can keep the original (that was useless to me) as I had no confidence in the cut of the holy grail item I paid an extra 100 for a different style which was then made up to my measurements, I was sent pictures of the new jacket prior to posting but basically it was just to show measurements and the colour of the jacket looked dark grey I put this down to poor camera work unfortunately when it arrived it was actually brown and not the black I had requested, the claim that the extra cash was for postage is a farce because if they charged that much postage they would soon be out of business. Also why I definitely wanted black was because I already own a brown version in exactly the same style

Over the past twenty years I've own 3 G-1 goat skin jackets. One of those was USGI from the 80's. It had the collar tag with the military national stock number on it. This jacket is actually of better quality then that one. The cuffs and waist band are high grade. The stitching, fur collar and goat skin are better than my 80's G-1. This jacket is worth every penny. I love the color of the fur collar and goat skin leather. Fit is spot on just go to their website and check the size chart. I'll be wearing this G-1 for several years to come. Buy it you won't be disappointed

You just can't beat the value of these Jackets at Fivestar. The quality, materials and workmanship are as good as any. The reproduction WW2 Jackets they make are my favorite. They are very authentic to the originals. Shawn and Fargham are fine gentleman and very helpful. Just make sure you communicate and get your measurements right.
