They say never meet your heroes, an underwhelming experience.

They say, never meet your heroes - well. As a CAMRA member, I’m a huge fan of Five Points. Living in Lincoln, I’ve ordered stuff off the internet and I’ve never visited the Brewery. Today, I found myself in London and decided to trek to the Mecca. Upon arrival, a less than enthusiastic server said there was no real ale. Really, in a brewery(!). We only have draft. I then enquired about the merch, happy to see it in the flesh and to fill my boots. Sorry, but that’s online. Great. I had two pints and left for the Pride of Spitalfields where it’s regularly on tap. In future I’ll get my ales from the WLC in Leeds. I’m still supportive, as I love the beer - but I’ll phone before I trek to Headquarters.
