Horrible gym

Don’t recommend it at all! There are gyms in Dubai that are much better and cleaner than FitnessFirst. Horrible customer service! Unprofessional staff

The absolute worst

The absolute worst! Signed a 1 year contract and they are still trying to process charges over 2 years later, using different terminals to get around the merchant blocks. Pay using a debit card or with cash or you may as well have posted your card details on Twitter.
Plus their toilets are “well known in the area” as a “meeting spot”. The staff ignore this which makes for an uncomfortable experience.

FITNESS FIRST MALVERN VALLEY

I joined fitness first Malvern Valley few weeks ago. Unfortunately my circumstances changed and I needed to cancel my membership. I submitted the email, never get any reply back. I rang and was told to pay $295 cancellation fee. I was shocked, tried to explain my circumstances, but the sales manager said that she won't cancel my membership unless I pay $295. The customer service is extremely poor and terrible, some of the staff are so arrogant and rude. They obviously have no idea what is empathy and kindness. The manager of Fitness First Malvern Valley never reply to my email and refused to talk to me.
Stay away from Fitness first and be careful what you sign. I won't recommend the Fitness First particularly at Malvern Valley to anyone.
Very poor customer service, arrogant staff, no compassion, no empathy.

Absolutely terrible gym

Absolutely terrible - I have been going to the Darlinghurst FF for over 10 years and up until about 6 or so months ago it was pretty good. Not saying it was perfect we had similar hygiene issues as others have mentioned - you'd see hair clumps remain for weeks on gym floor, roof leaks never get repaired etc, but the gym itself was good. I went for group fitness and that was fantastic, then they got a new manager who seems to have an agenda of cancelling group fitness and not listening when we collectively requested classes return and it would seem they are trying to get people to leave the gym? Not sure why that's a business model FF are pursuing - actively turning people off their product, but well done, I'll be joining the endless list of people cancelling my membership.

The fitness first is really bad they…

The fitness first is really bad they only see money they don't care about customer service. The do worse contract which u will not understand at all .my situation was I had membership for 4 months but I have visited 2 times in the beginning hover as I understand the contract after 4 months commitment I will be able to cancel. After I paid 4 months commitment I have asked to cancel they said you have 1 months notice period which I have to pay for 5 months even the I don't go they are able to see the system how many time u have been coming and they don't care that I have coming only 2 times in 4 months. Which means they will not care they only follow the the contract which is very complicated. I don't advice anyone to go to this kind of gym .as you may change location, work , place they will not consider at all .it all about the money .

They offered me a contract in May and I…

They offered me a contract in May and I have 14 days to decide whether to take it. In between these fourteen days I got their bill of more than 100 euros, telling me I should pay for both April and May. I need to emphasize that I haven't used their service during this time.

They agreed on the technical error with the date. But also told me that if I don't pay for it I will get into trouble. And because I don't "know about the process in Germany", they can give me a small discount.

THIS IS A SCAM!

I WILL SUE THIS COMPANY, IF THEY IGNORE MY EMAIL ONE MORE TIME!

Changed my membership, payment terms and inclusions without approval

When changing the "Brand Name" from "Fitness First" to "Good Life Health Clubs" and forcing us to accept the new terms by swapping our old "Fiteness First" cards to the new trading name of "Good Life Health Clubs" whilst still being owned by the same parent company "Fitness & Lifestyle Group" I realised this was a bout revenue raising and paying the same fees for less inclusions. By accepting the new terms we would lose interstate access which we use a lot on our travels for work and family to NSW and VIC especially. Not to mention the payments now are being taken by a new "brand" which means terms have changed and transactions are illegal. These are going to be reversed by the bank, I suggest you do the same if yu are facing the same issue. See my letter to them below:

Dear Fitness & Lifestyle Group (“Fitness First” / “Good Life”),

We would like to issue the below statement about our membership terms which I have not yet accepted by swapping my “Fitness First” membership and card over to “Good Life”. I understand your strategy to change names is largely revenue based, but as per the terms of a contract, I believe my needs must be fulfilled to the end of that term.

With update of your “Brand Name” to “Good Life”, we are no longer allowed to use “Fitness First Clubs” in other states as originally offered throughout our membership and contract. As we both have family and travel for work to numerous states around Australia, especially NSW and VIC, your updated “Trading Name” changes the terms, conditions, and inclusions in the contract.

We insist to continue using our below memberships as contractually bound with no changes to any membership details or pricing.

We are not prepared to accept your terms until our memberships are honoured. Due to this reason, we have been denied entry to “Good Life Carina Heights” (“Fitness First Carindale”) until we accept the new membership card, which means we accept your new terms. Your changes have put our health and fitness on hold until you can continue our contracted memberships, whilst still being getting charged, but no longer by “Fitness First”, now by “Good Life”. Any and all charges made by “Fitness & Lifestyle Group” rebranded as “Good Life” and not by “Fitness First” are not warranted and therefore illegal transactions.

We reference your terms and conditions as signed and agreed to as “Fitness First” members, not “Good Life” members:

Please advise in response your reply and acceptance of continuing our membership with the brand and it’s inclusions as accepted under membership numbers quoted above.

AVOID. FILTHY

Melbourne Central was completely filthy, sweat, hair, tissues and that was the gym. The bathrooms were an abomination.

I am still being charged every two weeks for a "free" trial six weeks later. They just ignore your requests to cancel.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Fitness First is Very incompetent

Fitness First is Very incompetent, untrustworthy and dishonest.
I did not sign the contract they sent me, yet they have kept charging me. they never answer the phone. called so many times. Each time I wait so long and end up with line being disconnected, because I have chosen to cancel the service.
I went on line and find no way to cancel the service.

Totally dishonest company

Totally dishonest company. My daughter specifically requested a weekly attendance and they conned her into subscribing for a premium membership despite her travel commitments. They pursued her for over 1000 dollars despite not subscribing. Be very wary of this company and their employees

I lost my debit card that I was using…

I lost my debit card that I was using to pay my account with Fitness First, and instead of letting me know the direct debit didn't go through, they me know plus slammed a surcharge on the membership fee at the same time. Really bad behaviour, and unethical.

BEWRARE

BEWRARE: If you take a membership with them they will simply not cancel it and keep charging you money.

The staff is incompetant and their customer service is simply pathetic. My membership was over more than 2 months ago. I have been trying to cancel it and they just keep charging me.

I have wasted more than 10 hours talking with them, they have a same response that they will escate this to the customer service and return within 5 business days.

WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE EVER!!

Fitness first Kuwait Zero respect!!!

Fitness first 360mall Kuwait Zero attention to the customers. And staff is very rude and unprofessional. They cannot arrange even simple things. They were kind only when were taking money. I paid 400$ In Kuwait for 4 months after I had a surgery, asked them to freeze my membership. They told me that I should pay30$ for freezing my membership. When they were not letting to attend fitness club without Covid vaccine they didn’t freeze my membership and my days were just passing. They told me that if I take 4 months membership they will give me 2 free lessons with a Personal Trainer, I left my number 4 times in the reception for lesson with trainer, but they didn’t call me and after a month they cleared my lessons from they application like I used it. When I asked their manager to solve this issue, an Indian manager who even cannot speak English said that he cannot do anything. I told that I will not extend my membership anymore he said it’s ok for us. You should pay for everything even they are not giving water. A fitness salon with backward rules. Water is around 4$ if you want to buy they sell it 😂

Terrible experience. I have cancelled my membership by phone before lockdown and they keep charging my credit card. I've been there twice and has not been solved yet. I regret to become a member.

No Customer Service!!!!

I have been trying to get in touch with Fitness First for 5 weeks! I started calling them and emailing them during lockdown because I wanted to know when my membership ended. After 1.5 weeks of receiving no reply and never getting through via phone, I went to their website and left my details and a message saying I wanted to cancel my membership. It has been over 5 weeks now and I call every second day and never get through to someone, I try all the different calling options and the call either hangs up before someone answers the phone or the ringing sound stops but the call time is still counting. The first time that happen I stayed on the phone for 9 minutes, but it was still silent. I've been trying to contact Fitness First for 5 weeks to cancel my membership, since opening up after lockdown ending 2 weeks ago, I have been charged every week and I haven't been going to the gym because I am trying to cancel my membership! My reasoning is purely because of covid, I do not feel confident and safe going to the gym whilst covid is still around.
DO NOT JOIN FITNESS FIRST! Though, it is a good gym if you never need anything to do with customer service. If you never need to contact them or need help then it's good for you.

Boycott Boycott Boycott

Never ever will I use this gym again or recommend to anyone. Avoid it like the plaque. My membership was a 12 month membership which was due to end this September. I paid my last payment to them on 29th September, after I had ‘ unauthorised access’ to the members area (where you log in) October is here and now I’m being charged for 2 month arrears. Can someone explain this to me please? I rang up in which they said I’ve cancelled my direct debit, damn right I have after they’ve tried to charge me for this month. I told them I’d send evidence to their email then put the phone down on me. Don’t go to this gym has caused me nothing but stress and anxiety.
