You'd get more from a Google search

I went to see First Point Physio in my doctor's surgery.
They told me I needed to do physio.
They did not tell me why.
They showed me one exercise but sent me a list of 5 others they did not show me how to do.
I had to chase to get that list as they forgot to send it.
What I got sent was a link to install an App.
They did not tell me that I would need to use an app, they did not tell me how to use the app.
And the app is awful.
They said "try it for 4 weeks".
They did not tell me what progress I could expect, they did not tell me what recovery would be like, they did not tell me the conditions I should come back to see them sooner, they did not tell me to schedule an appointment to see them again.
All they did was tell me to do physio.
Genuinely no more information than I could have got from asking google - and they would probably have had better instruction videos!

Not impressed at all

Not impressed at all. Didn't refer to my previous surgery on my records which would have explained what I could not.
Ended up with an email with a generic programme of exercise. No treatment and no follow-up despite the fact that I can't walk without extreme pain.
Didn't get a diagnosis. Just that my knee is damaged. Looks like I will have to pay for private treatment yet again

Very disappointing

Very disappointing. A formulaic approach that took no account of a previous ankle injury despite my having explained my situation to the physiotherapist. The previous injury made it impossible to complete the exercises I was given. The call from Firstpoint was a day late.

Very poor experience and outcome

So the NHS appear to have outsourced their physio to First Point Physio according to their website:

'Working alongside GPs for a cost effective workforce solution'

My physio session dated 13/10/2021 was poor in that my back injury outcome was to receive a generic exercise program via email entitled 'Lumbar spine- HEP' which listed a significant amount of exercises that would not be possible due to the extreme pain I am currently in.

My physio stated that she would refer me back to the GP to prescribe some specific pain killers and when I called the surgery the following day they said there was no task raised for the GP so nothing had progressed.

I'm now a further day into this back pain issue and basically told to come back in 14 days if it does not improve.

I would also state that it's unprofessional to have personal mobile devices beeping constantly throughout a physio session. The foyer states mobile phones should be off so why does this not apply to First Point Physio?
