Fantastic company, quality phone,ethics and support

I got my first Fairphone in December..the Fairphone 6 . I wanted to make sure I got a phone that wasn't using unethical mined materials and workers treatment and that could be repaired for longevity. So far it's been a brilliant phone. So many impressive features. The camera is really high quality too and the phone is a good size. It is powerful and fast and easy to use and put in different SIM cards and USB cards. There's excellent customer service support and products to go with it like the privacy filter screen. I wanted the Google free phone but was concerned it would be hard to use certain apps. I would have gone for that if there was some more guidance and troubleshooting support on using that without Google. Postage prices are a bit expensive for small items, e.g replacement screen protector, so be sure to order 2 or 3 when you place an order in case one breaks. The Fairphone case is smart too and strong and id recommend that. One issue with the phone I've experienced is it occasionally stalling on me. I've done the updates but it still sometimes happens and I don't know why. I like the backwards swipe function to move back to the previous page. However I'd like a forwards swipe too after you have gone back. All the setup instructions were clear and the setup was smooth from my old phone, although transferring everything over took a while. I like the information they send out to customers too and the Q&A with the CEO. I wouldn't consider going with any other phone provider and hope this phone will last me for 10-20 years. There are some small features I think could make things better and smoother. I wish there was a shop you go into in person but I recognise how hard this can be to setup. I hope many more move to Fairphone and would recommend to anyone and for what you get and the length of time it should last (and impact on the planet) I think it's very good value.

This is the second time I've ordered…

UPDATE: Once this was picked up these guys sorted it out really quickly. Thanks very much indeed.

I'll likely be buying another couple of these phones in the next month or so.

The text of my original note was:
This is the second time I've ordered from these guys and the second time the order hasn't been delivered properly. The problem appears to be their carrier UPS but the total lack of ability to contact Fairphone has made this problem so much worse. If anyone from Fairphone is monitoring this please get in touch. I have a connection from the last time I had a problem so at least have someone to talk to but it really has been very dissapointing.
The phones are very good BTW. I understand that FF is having staffing trouble but ...

Phone arrived quickly with accessories…

Phone arrived quickly with accessories and it was easy to set up. So sales and delivery were excellent.
One comment: one can buy a green phone but the folder over cover is only available in black. It would be nice to have a matching green cover.
I have been using the phone now for over a fortnight and it all works well.

Post code and telephone number are…

Post code and telephone number are format sensitive, but the site doesn't specify in which way.

Delivery was done by UPS which did not even ring the bell, just said it is impossible to deliver and brought the package to the pick up point, even tho the delivery was paid to be done at my house.

Phone is good, but getting it was troublesome.

All phones should be like this

The battery in my Fairphone 4 was starting to lose a bit of performance after over 3 years. The replacement arrived quickly at a reasonable cost, same took seconds to fit.

Cutting loose from Apple and Google, and still having a great phone experience

Build quality and functionality is great. I ordered the degoogled version with Murena e/os, and the whole experience of unboxing and powering up was just a great pleasure.
I was able to move away from Apple, without going to the Google camp. And it was very, very easy to get it going.
Also the fact that the phone is designed for self-repair (replacing modules like battery, camera etc.) makes me confident that this was a good investment.

What is the point of making noice canceling headphones when the noice canceling is bad?

I had gotten a good impression of the fairphone company because of their transparancy and effort for not supporting modern slavery. At the same time i adore the idea of being able to buy a product i can fix when it gets broken. So when i needed a set of new headphones it made sense to try fairphone.

I bought the Fairbuds XL headphones (2023). They cost 259 euros + fees for shipping.
From the start i experienced several challenges:

Firstly, the delivery used did not message me about the package arriving in my nearby store. I had to research myself and contact both fairphone and the delivery company to find out what had happened to my order. I got the headphones about a month and a half after ordered.

secondly, when trying the headphones on i immediately noticed a wierd noice sometimes appearing from the right ear speaker. It sounds like something is not how it should be.

Thirdly, the noice canceling is close to none-existent. Even with the strongest setting you hear all conversation around you on the bus, all the sounds from the train, all the cars passing by on the street and in the gym you hear all the weights, instruments and local stereo music.

I contacted fairphone and told them i wanted to send back the headphones and get a refund.
Their answer was that a refund isnt possible because it on paper had been over 30 days since i "recived my order". I double checked on their website, and when you buy a product there is no clear message about a 30day-refund-time. This has to be shown better to the customers.
Fairphone said they could offer to create a service-application for the problem with the right ear.
I said yes to this, but as time went on the service-application never took contact with me.

Now i feel stuck with a pair of expensive headphones that im not going to use. Instead of sending them back and letting them be reselled, theyre going to rot in my drawer. Ive considered reselling them, but i would have to price them low because of the problem with the right ear. So i loose money, for something that wasnt my fault.

Next time, im just going to buy bose-headphones secondhand.

I love the idea of fairphone, but the product and the service does not keep the standard up.

Courier did not deliver at my door

I payed for delivery at my door. Yet your courier pretended I was not at home and took my package to a collection point which is quite a distance from my home and where I could pick it up a day later.
Next time, I expect a better service

You get way better phones for the money…

You get way better phones for the money Xiaomi Poco f8 is £600 and it's more powerful than a iPhone 17pro max and the camera is 200mega pixel 100x zoom and has snapdragon 8 gen 5 chipset I would look very hard to what you buy

Hi Fairphone,

I love bed the idea of a sustainable phone and privacy in house software. Thus, purchased fairphone 6 e/OS. Unfortunately, the most basic thing (to make calls, and use data) not working. I have contacted my sim provider, they asked me to contact phone manufacturer, which had a difficult time doing it. How can I resolve this issue? Its been less than 14 days I bought this phone I think

Fairphone4

I bought the FP4 almost two years ago with /e/OS and I'm really happy with the purchase. Sometimes I've experienced some issues with the system, but Murena's customer support helped me. I always recommend Fairphone because it's a great project. I hope it gets bigger and bigger.
