I would write negative 100 if I could. They will not answer your emails. They will not answer your calls. I am contacting American Express right now to make sure they do not keep my money. Worst experience ever. Ordered $1400 worthy of Explanar items and am now cancelling after almost a week of no responses. This is pathetic.

Very poor customer service

The owner of this company (Luther Blacklock) sold me a replacement arm strut for my Explanar Professional. The hydraulic strut he supplied was not suitable to complete the repair as it had a different attachment fitting to the original. I could not contact Mr Blacklock on the phone so messaged him several times via the message system on his Explanar website. I did not receive a single reply to any of my requests. Mr Blacklock’s after sales support is shocking (in my case anyway). If you do commit to buying an Explanar, for your sake, I hope nothing goes wrong with it!

I ordered the full kit with both the…

I ordered the full kit with both the long and short roller in mid December. I received the swing trainer and long roller about four weeks later, no short roller. The box came with no explanation, no contrition for the missing $100.00+ roller. I called and was informed that they were out of stock and awaiting a "container". The individual blamed shipping delays and offered no expression of regret and was in-fact combative when pressed for answers. In mid-February, the same b.s. excuse was provided when I called. Now, 12 weeks after ordering, i just had the same conversation. Sheesh...if I could get my money back and buy a different product I would!

Explan….no

I ordered the explanar online over 2 months ago and the item still hasn’t arrived 🤬
There was no mention on their website of delayed shipping times otherwise I wouldn’t of purchased.
I emailed numerous times before finally receiving a response, to which then I was told a pack of lies….. I don’t honestly know how this company is still trading, possibly one of the worst buying experiences I’ve ever had .
I’ve requested a full refund but won’t hold my breath for that.

Great Product and Customer Service

Explanar was delivered quickly via courier. I must say the device, whilst big when assembled, is packaged neatly and clear instructions are provided on how to construct - I managed this on my own but two persons is recommended. The device folds down for storage but requires removal of a bolt. If like me you lack space, and require to unfold Explanar for each use, then a butterfly nut would have been a better design for this purpose. I will be sourcing one separately to avoid having to use a tool each time I fold up/down.

The DVD is also a useful introduction to using the device and i’m sure this will benefit my swing development with long-term use. Although pricey, I have no complaints.

Unfortunately the long Power Roller was not included in the box due to a warehouse error prior to dispatch. The Explanar team were really responsive and sent me a roller separately, which was extremely pleasing. I cannot fault the good customer service in this regard - thanks Explanar team!

EXPLANAR

EXPLANAR. ITS AMAZING.

I came back to Golf a few years ago, having previously played off 17, but then had a 13 year gap having children. In that time my body has been through many injuries etc and I couldn’t seem to swing like I used to. I had many lessons trying to solve my biggest problem of not being on plane and therefore square on impact. The Pro’s were amazing at explaining things to me and sometimes for a game or so after I could replicate their instructions. Inevitably though, I would always loose the feeling.

The most impact from a lesson was going on the Explanar for 20 or so swings. Afterwards my swing was always on plane and the monitors and tracers showed an incredible and instant change.

After struggling on again I decided to purchase an Explanar for home use. It’s the BEST thing I have ever done Golf wise.

I’ve had this for just over a month now. I use it for five minutes every day religiously. I mix between the long and short roller.

The difference was almost instant on the course. I could ‘feel’ a swing without having so many swing thoughts going through my mind. My ball striking was suddenly so crisp. My drives were out of the middle and even my short game was no longer clumpy. I couldn’t believe it. I am not exaggerating to say that I notice improvements every time I play.

I haven’t played competitively since coming back to Golf, but feel almost ready to do so. I was struggling to play to my ‘phase 2’ handicap of 28, but now I can happily do this and feel so much more confident about my game.

The bonus is that I can feel my wrists, arms and shoulders are stronger. Also I feel that my core, legs and lower back are being toned up.

I would genuinely recommend the Explanar to any golfer. I used to spend countless hours on the range, but no longer do this. Now I know that every second I spend on the Explanar is repeating the correct motion and therefore making perfect muscle memory.

Matt Gadsby and Luther have been incredible with regards to customer service and help. You literally couldn’t ask for more.

I will do another review in a few months updating on my scores.

Every time I walk away from the Explanar I am happy!

User Updates:

I do a 10 minute session on the Explanar everyday the temperature is above 38°. We did have a warm spell the end of February and then I was doing 2 - 10 minute session a day. I even played golf the 26th and 27th of February. Then it was back to the reality of weather. It is the first day of spring and I still have knee high piles of snow on the yard. Thank goodness for the Explanar!!!

Observations:

1. When I was doing 2 - 10 minute sessions a day my core was getting one of the best ab workouts I can remember. I could not believe it! I do a serious gym workout and I have never hit the abs like the Explanar does. Or maybe I just never worked them in that plane before.

2. I can also feel it big time in my arms, shoulders and forearm grip. I vary my swing speed from a comfortable pace to as slow as I can manage during my session. The slower the speed the harder I have to work to maintain the roller. This is a great workout. Again I have never experience any thing like this before.

3. I have also noticed a big improvement in my flexibility on the follow thru. One weakness in my swing was a tendency to stand up early on the finish. Now I can finish and keep my spine on plane like the Pros...example Justin Rose. That is a big deal to me. I guess that roller really does stretch you out and lengthen your swing.

4. The other big deal for me is being able to stop my swing or slow it down so I can see what position I am at various points in my swing. That is better than having a video of your swing because you can see it in real time.

Every time I walk away from the Explanar I am happy. How many products do you buy in a life time that you can say that about? Maybe 25 tops?

One last thing. I was just listening to a Golf link not sure which one but the headline was club golfers just don’t swing the club enough to see any benefits. I immediately though of my Explanar and said to myself...not this year...I got that covered. I figure when I do 2 – 10 minute session a day and swinging at a fair pace I am making close to 300 swings a day. Not too shabby.

Explanar

Explanar - Is by far the best investment that i have made for my son Brandon jr. (6), the results of using the Explanar jr are pretty amazing. Just three months into using the product three times are week, his swing has certainly improved and the distance he is hitting has also increased. Muscle memory has certainly improved, helping him hit the ball 70 plus yards at age 6, not too bad.....

I really love my Explanar

I really love my Explanar. I use mine to reinforce the lessons I get and practice key movements I’m learning while keeping my club on plane. The biggest issue it has resolved for me is the push slice as I always held of the turning of the club. It’s also given me a nice wide turn. I still take my club too far on the inside on the course but that is improving also. Before buying I read on forums about how the swing plane back is not the same as forward but this kit is not restrictive on that. They also have a guy doing a blog on their site which has been an interesting read.
