If you are thinking of using any PV…

If you are thinking of using any PV Supermarket (or any of the connected names below) I would suggest you consider other providers.

My initial communication with this firm was positive at the outset, but it started to show signs of issues which should have been my warning sign.

I started my search for a solar system back in Jan of 2021 for a system that would suit me with a property that had shading.

I agreed to proceed with PVSupermarket on the 5th May 2021

My issues are as follows:

• Deposit is taken without confirmation that they had the stock to supply. Had to wait till supplies were available. I was ok with this as this is a new world we are in, but still, the deposit should only be taken surely if the stock was available?
• At the time, it was promised that PV Supermarket would take care of any planning consents required. (as per agreement) Still, nothing to this date evidencing that this was or ever will be done.
• Installed a 4.5kW System with inadequate IQ7+ enphase inverters which in effect stifles the system by 22%.
o The maximum output of IQ7+ microinverter is 295VA so 295*12= 3,54kVA
o Should have supplied the IQ7a as they can process 366VA so 366*12=4,392
• No supply of any required documentation within the specified time or even an adequate time.
o This is against regulations and has not enabled me to register the system to a provider (still fighting to acquire these and the other docs to be with the system via MCS Certified.
• Not completed the Enphase inverter profile on the system to show the benefits of the inverters which was a decisive factor in the purchase of the product.
• Saturday 17th July - the Inverter fell off the wall causing Damage to the inverter.

I opened what I thought to be a sensible dialogue with PVSupermarket via the FB messenger (as that was the only way I ever got a response) and no help was provided at all.

Following an inadequate resolution directly, my course of action now rests with MCS Certified who are trying to help - but I fear that this company is just phoenixing to avoid their responsibilities.

company ought to be closed down and banned by OLEV

Had same issues as the reviews listed i.e. fobbed off installations, last minute cancellations, multiple re-scheduled installs, faulty installations...

eventually they installed an alternative charger a Wallbox. however, it didn't charge. Installing Engineer said it was a faulty unit, after speaking with Wallbox they suspect unit was installed incorrectly.

Scheduled for another installer to come and check the installation, again failed to turn up and re-scheduled three times.

I don't sense their engineers are qualified, as no post installation certificate was issued that confirms it meets the safety regulations set by OLEV.

i'm going to report them to OLEV and have them struck off.

Avoid Ev supermarket

Avoid Ev supermarket, they are Technically incompetent at installing car chargers for the following reasons.

1. Installed current transformer on grid incoming supply wrong way around
2. Installed charger to incorrect height to building regulations and BS7671 and asked me to pay £65 for them to lift it.
3.Didnt turn up when requested
4. Didn't order materials on time resulting aborted visits to my property.
5 Installed current transformer on solar and pv supply the incorrect way around
6. DNO electrical safety notice issued for incorrect meter tail size during install
7. Used crimp connectors on CT clamps against manufacturers instructions
8. Installed incorrect charger from original order.

They are unresponsive to emails and won't return phone calls.

No electrical safety certificates issued, no DNO charger install issued, request payment upfront.

Very bad company and had to work with. Wish I didn't go with them. I should have known when they asked for payment upfront.

I've had 3 visits from them and require a 4th to fix the faulty charger install which they won't answer my emails or calls to come and fix.

Avoid avoid avoid.

This has to be the worst experience of…

This has to be the worst experience of my life dealing with these people. After numerous broken promises of install dates and the excuses of the charger is not available (I even gave them another option) 1st install date came and went 2nd came and went 3rd came and also went, I decided enough was enough and asked for my payment to be refunded that was over 2 weeks ago and I have still not received my payment back.

Harrowing experience - want to give a ZERO star review!

I went for installing my Ohme wall charger with these guys after discussing the specific needs of my installation in great detail and agreeing everything on email - this included an Ohme charging unit, concealed cabling and a Garo PEN fault device (G6EV40PME) and installed and certified by a fully qualified electrician.
After moving the dates initially, the installation was scheduled for the 15-Dec-2020.
On the day, the electrician turns up
- He tries to get away by NOT installing the PEN fault device at all
- I spot this and highlight the regulation - upon which he agrees immediately and gets the PEN fault device from his van. Only this was not the agreed GARO and a Matt:E device itself.
- The electrician tries to tell me it is superior (I had been told by Ohme themselves that they have issues with the Matt:E device)
- The Ohme unit itself has dings on it.
- The wiring is not concealed as was agreed and a large black wire is visible on the front fascia of the house. The electrician has the audacity to tell me to paint the wire so it is less visible!!

I raise all of this the same day with photo evidence to EVSupermarket/PowerEV/EMS Engineering (all the same entity) and they agree to all the issues and agree these need to addressed immediately.

However, after more than a month of waiting - they don't seem to want to give it priority - all I get is 5-Jan, 11-Jan and now 19-Feb and then 11-Feb and so forth. So they screwed up - and have the balls to ask the customer to wait another 2 months to fix the issues!

Tired of this harrowing experience - I have asked them to refund me in full and take the stuff away. Only to be told, after chasing for a week, that my monies will only be returned when they get time to come and collect the installed items from my address - which is later on in Feb.
So, I am stuck without being able to move ahead to another installer till I get my money back.

Avoid EVSupermarket, PowerEV, EMS Engineering like the plague!

Update 1- now after removing the setup last week - I am met with radio silence when I ask them for my refund - I have called and mailed at least 3-4 times now

Update 2 - It has now been close to 2 weeks since they have taken the charger back - STILL NO MONEY REFUNDED.

Poor Comms and too many cancellations.

The review by Barry Aldridge (13th November 2020) could have been written for me and the parallel experience I seem to have had with EV Supermarket, however unlike Barry after 3 cancellations my installation remained pending.

As with Barry's experience the price on the website looked good, not cheap, but good so I completed my online order and after payment was taken in full on 21st October I received my first installation date scheduled at the end of October (29th). Text messages and emails received throughout the week preceding confirmed my booking was as scheduled. The morning of the supposed installation and I received a telephone call stating that the hardware wasn't available to the engineer and they would have to rebook.

The second booking was made for early November but when I phoned to double check I was informed that this was cancelled due to Covid (the work was to be completed outside!) but the full reason wasn't explained.

At this point I further insisted that they ship the hardware (that I'd already paid for) directly to me in advance of the next scheduled installation. Promised return phone calls were never received so I called again to reaffirm the need for the charger to be sent in advance ASAP, after being put on hold for a while I was informed that it would be sent out in the next day or so. Thankfully the charger hardware arrived safe and sound before the end of the week.

Meanwhile a third booking was made for a month later, now due to be fitted in early December. Once again the week prior to installation saw texts and emails confirming the appointment. The day arrived and no further contact so at 3pm I called EV Supermarket to find out what was happening and was informed that the engineer had called EV Supermarket in the morning to say due to Covid-19 he was having to self isolate and they were very sorry that no one had called me but someone would be in touch to reschedule either Friday or Monday.

Monday afternoon comes round and still no communication from EV Supermarket so once again it was up to me to call them to chase an appointment. I was informed that as of 11am that morning the staff had been advised that no more bookings were to be scheduled before 11th January 2021 and it was explained to me that this delay was due to supplier issues. I pointed out that I was already in possession of the hardware so only needed a competent electrical engineer to screw it to the wall and do his stuff with the wires. After a few minutes on hold I was informed that I could have a booking the following Friday (i.e. 4 days time).

Friday arrived and thankfully so did the engineer. The engineer did call prior to arrival and was glad to know that I was in fact in possession of the Wallbox. Installation went as planned and around 3hrs later the engineer had departed.

As you can imagine this has been an incredibly frustrating series of events and I have been left feeling very disappointed by EV Supermarket's poor customer service and communication.

Would I recommend EV Supermarket? They are reasonably priced and if your installation goes smoothly you're on a winner, BUT if you have an experience like Barry Aldridge or mine, or probably many others who didn't take the time to write a review, then you'll probably wish you'd spent a few more pounds and actually got the installation you paid for when you expected it.

Avoid at all costs

*** DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY ***
If you are looking at reviews with a view to using this company then I should advise you think again. The company are so incompetent it’s actually unbelievable, as others have said, they take your money and that’s where the good service ends !! I had 3 installation dates booked, first - waited in all day, no sign by 3.30pm so I called them, problem with supply of charger !! (Why not call me that morning to advise). Second date - I called them in the morning to ask what time I could expect the engineer, told he was at another job in York, again no further calls until I called again at 2pm, we will get back to you to find out where he is, surprise, no call by this time it’s getting dark, called them again...sorry he’s been delayed. Finally as I was just about to cancel my order they gave me another date and promised this would be honoured as it was a morning appointment - day comes and true to their word engineer arrives. His first question, have you got the charger ? No I don’t !!! So engineer is here but no charger to fit (I know what your thinking now- cowboy outfit). Revert back to the last date when the engineer was stuck in York ? What was he going to fit if he was ever booked to come ?. Anyway, engineer does what he can and prepares the electrical installation ready for the charger, eventually over a week later I get the charger installed, phew !!! Well no...the screw that secured the IP rating to the unit underneath had not been fastened, I had to do that to protect myself and the unit. As the charger was not displaying information correctly, after trying to contact this shower time after time, I resorted to contacting the manufacturers directly, after doing some fault finding and looking at the installation in the meter cupboard, the unit has been wired incorrectly !!! Called again, sent emails .... well who would have thought no response. Unit still not working as it should as a consequence of their incompetence. Seriously STAY AWAY from this company it is easily the most incompetent and disgraceful customer service I have ever received, all you will do is give yourself problems.

Dishonest & unprofessional

I am having the same poor experience others have had. Engineers don't arrive when they say, then fobbed off on the phone by Steve the Supervisor and now Pav the supposed manager. I paid for a charging point months ago in good faith. I have one that doesn't work still on my wall. After many phone calls somebody was supposed to come today to replace it. They haven't turned up. Essentially my money has been stolen. Please do not use this company

Please don’t use this company

I paid for a charging point to be fitted in May I’m still waiting I paid for the fitting in May that’s how long they have had my money. A gentleman came out yesterday to fit the podpoint and told me it couldn’t be done he wasn’t willing to drill the wall but if my husband wanted to drill the wall he would come back another day and fit the cable. I spoke to Steve at EV Supermarket “ the supervisor “ who was most unapologetic didn’t seam to think it was an issue for the way I have been treated. I brought my electric car in July and can not charge my vehicle at home so have been visiting lots of service stations.I have now requested a refund and Steve has supposedly asked podpoint to refund my money as there seams to be no solution being put forward. Apparently my refund should be authorised within the next 48 hours we shall see! I really don’t want anyone else having to go through this 6 months is such a long time. Please find an alternative supplier.

Dishonest

On the 29th Oct my first confirmed appointment.
I call you on that day to check when the engineer will arrive, The agent informs me in the afternoon the engineer will arrive.5 mins later I get a call telling me that the Zappi order hasn’t arrived so reschedule the appointment.
My 2nd appointment is booked for 10th Nov. After the government COVID-19 lockdown is announced, I call the office and the agent assures me that you still be open and operating as the correct PPE in place.
Few days later the agent calls to reschedule to the 3rd of December.
On the 3rd of December I call the office at 12.30pm
to check when the engineer will arrive as your email confirmations never state the time frame. The agent tells me that the engineer called them as he needs to isolate for 14days. I have requested that the agent raises a complaint, she told me someone will contact me but I still haven’t received any calls.

I was initially impressed with the…

I was initially impressed with the price and speed that the charger could be fitted. So signed up with EV supermarket to fit my EV charger.

The first appointment was booked for the afternoon. I called to get an update around 1500 to be told that the engineer was still working at the first job and we would have to reschedule. 2 days later got a call informing me that they didn’t have my charger in stock. So the initial call was a lie. I rebooked my appointment for 4 weeks later due to my availability. This time received a call on the day stating that engineer was having to self isolate due to COVID. Then in next breath the availability of my charger was again discussed and I was offered an upgrade. So again a lie. I asked to speak with a manager and was told that someone would call me.

I waited 30 minutes and called back and spoke with Reagan. Reagan was excellent! She was honest and explained the problems. She then went away organised my booking. 3 days later engineer fitted the charger that I ordered! She kept in contact throughout and delivered on her promise. Reagan is a credit to this company and the only reason I have given 4 stars. If Reagan needs a job in the future I will happily employ her. EV Supermarket you need to promote this lady!

Would definitely recommend the Project EV charger. Not too bulky and works perfectly.
