Good restoration

I recently used **EverPresent** after my mother passed away. Overall, they did a good job restoring our items, and I appreciate the care that went into the work. While the results were not exceptional, the quality was solid and meaningful to our family during a difficult time.

## Quality of Work

The restoration was handled professionally. The items were returned in good condition, and it was clear that attention was given to preserving important memories. the final product met expectations and provided comfort during a difficult time.

## Pricing and Transparency

There were some additional costs that were not clearly outlined at the beginning, so I recommend asking for a full breakdown of potential charges upfront. That said, when the final amount exceeded the original estimate by over one hundred dollars, they refunded the difference to ensure the pricing was fair. I appreciated that effort to correct the overage and stand by their estimate.

To avoid confusion, consider:

- Requesting a detailed written estimate
- Clarifying any optional services or add-ons
- Confirming how overages are handled before work begins

## Shipping and Delivery Details

Be very clear about where your items are being sent and where you want them returned. If instructions are not specific, materials may be shipped back to the original drop-off location rather than your preferred address. I recommend:

- Confirming the return shipping address in writing
- Verifying delivery details before final processing
- Keeping copies of all communication

Clear instructions can help prevent misunderstandings.

## Customer Service

The owner of EverPresent clearly cares about his business. He personally contacted me regarding my concerns, which I respected. That responsiveness shows a commitment to customer satisfaction.

## Overall Impression

EverPresent provides solid restoration services with good results. While clearer communication about costs and logistics upfront would improve the experience, they demonstrated fairness in pricing and responsiveness when concerns were raised.

Don't Do It

Don't Do It! Had dozens of "home movies", i.e. 8m videos to convert. Took much longer than promised. Everything they did was make their jobs easier, NOT to the customer benefit. They spliced all of our films together to a few mega spools. Made their handling easier. Never told us in advance they were splicing them together. Sent us back our empty spools and 6 mega spools with multiple movies on each. 2 Spools still had the original film on them (not spliced), no way fore me to tell if they were digitized or not. Spent weeks trying to straighten it out. Tried to escalate, they would not connect me with executive level. A disappointment and frustration for over $2000 spent.

What a lousy experience

What a lousy experience. Post rough estimates on their website but then require you to send in material to get a firm quote. My project was a wedding album with multiple photos on each page -- I asked for individual scans of each image. They require you to speak with someone rather than sending you a quote by email or text. This results in back and forth and it incredibly inefficient and annoying. They gave me a quote for the wrong thing -- full page scans. More back and forth. Then the final quote came in materially higher than expected or I was willing to pay. Then they charged me a $40.00 ransom payment to return my materials after giving me a quote far outside the bounds of what was suggested. I went ahead and paid it to be done with this company so I guess they won. Wish I had read the reviews on here before I started this debacle.

Worst Customer Service Ever

I had a VHS tape copied to digital. The result was watchable, although the tape was old. My complaint is with their horrendous customer service. Communicating with my project coordinator was like having a dialog with a chatbot. I had to keep a log of all my attempts to get her on the phone, but that only happened once: when she called up front to get me to pay for the project. And, even then, it took 9 days after they received my tape to call with a quote. I sent my complaint to the Customer Service Manager and never received an acknowledgement, let alone a response.

I'm quite pleased with my experience…

I'm quite pleased with my experience with EverPresent. On the phone, Jhasfer was most polite and gracious, and we arrived at a price I could live with. I should say that the material I entrusted to them was a one-of-a-kind 7" reel of music recorded in November 1967, which makes it an artifact nearly a half-century old. II had only muted hopes for what EverPresent would be able to do, because I know the lifespan of acetate tape, but the results were more than listenable, the job was accomplished quickly, I could pick up the tape locally, and I now have a 60-day link I can share with fellow enthusiasts. I had to take a little time in negotiating their app on the site before I could access the music in digital form, but eventually I could do it. I would recommend them!

Frustrating and expensive.

A costly, disappointing company. Our family trusted Everpresent's initial project cost estimate based on their experience and paid a deposit of half up-front, but we were later charged nearly double the deposit amount before they'd do the work, and then ultimately $675 -above- the already higher projected cost, over 15% higher. Take note that our slides were meticulously organized and preserved by a now deceased family member... and untouched since, until they opened them and gave us the projected cost. The project was also over a month late and only completed after we pointed out that their own (poorly designed and limited) app showed there had been no new photos added for over 2 months by the time the completion date came and went. In the end we even missed being able to print out photos for an elderly family member for Easter because they hadn't sent a download link in time (they blamed Gmail's spam filters, ironically in an email response... Which proves their mail was getting through - though I did check to be sure), and the app locks out downloads by requiring an extra step, and despite multiple emails back and forth I gave up. Terrible communication, slow and dodgy excuses in follow-up, defensive and downright egotistical self-aggrandizing... didn't return phone calls, and didn't even have the courtesy to apologize or even try to explain in the slightest for the price jumps or lateness or poor service. I'm reasonable and most often post 5-star reviews across Google and other sites to reward good companies and help them attract potential customers, as my family and I trust this same review process to help steer us away from these mistakes. The system failed us. After 7 months we did get the files on a thumb drive and are happy to never think about this company again. Whatever good reviews we saw, and are seeing, might as well be for an entirely different company than what we encountered. I can't explain the difference, especially since ours was a big project and I've never known large orders to be treated worse than small orders. Hope this helps the next family avoid the disappointment.

Whatever excuse is likely to come in response to this, I'm sure it won't be an honest apology. They were steadfast in refusing to so much as truly admit wrongdoing, only that there was a misunderstanding. Never was capable of taking accountability. Take it or leave it. The slides I'm happy to enjoy, which I should have done with a scanner from Amazon, but this company is one memory I'm happy to forget
