Avoid!!!!

The parcel took more than a month to be delivered. Customer service kept saying it was this week, that day, and it dragged on. They said I would be able to reject the delivery but I wasn’t given a chance. Then when I wanted to return the item the attendant said I had to pay for the costs of returning it!!!! How’s that for terrible customer service!
What a total scam trying to get paid
What a total scam trying to get paid. What they keep with compounded billing leaves the seller with the tiniest share making the platform no viable. Customer service standards are ridiculous where you will be left dealing with an offshore call centre in India and the ensuing language barriers if your native language is English. Etsy will ask that your verify bank account with a small deposit which can take days to arrive to your account and when your verify this amount there will be an error. Then you will be told to verify again so you put the same details and wait days for the deposit amount again. I have spent hours upon hours dealing with chats as they won't provide a phone number. This is the most incompetent customer service and lack of responsibility I have ever seen from any web base sales platform. Etsy is the scum at the bottom of a fish tank whist other platforms provide excellent services and so I have removed all items for sale but just keep the account until I eventually get paid. After searching online Etsy has lost millions of sellers and suffering financially so its time for all sellers to recover their funds before this shister goes out of business leaving everyone high and dry. Don't go near them
Massive improvement in sales
*Update* the off-site ads appear to have gained some traction and my organic sales have also gone up loads. Not sure what changed with the algorithm but so far I have seen a massive improvement and I am now running at a profit which is great. I now run Etsy ads on the odd listing to gain traction and interest but I have lowered the spend here considerably now that I am getting more organic sales and traction from Etsy off-site ads. Costs to me are down loads and I am making sales so I am happy.
When I first started out selling a few years ago it was great, and worked out way cheaper than selling on ebay. fees where low and you didn't need to spend crazy amounts on ad revenue to get sales. Now Its impossible to get visibility without ads and the costs just rack up. im now running at a loss. gonna keep going for abit longer incase it picks up but I am no longer turning a profit. it works out a lot cheaper to sell on ebay at the moment and the ad fees actually work out much cheaper. when you take into account all the hidden costs like offsite ad charges that etsy charge for. I understand some of these are regulatory
one item of mine sold for 27.99 but had a processing fee of 4.0 percent +£0.20 (£1.32)
Transaction fee 6.5% (£1.82)
Operating fee 0.32% (£0.09)
fee for offsite ad (£4.20)
VAT on transaction fee (0.36)
VAT on operating fee (0.02)
VAT on offsite ads (0.84)
VAT on processing fee (0.26)
altogether thats £8.91 and then there was an ad spend for click throughs to the item which was £4.28 thats 44% taken from my sale just for the listing to function and receive orders
so from a £27.99 item £13.19 is deducted and on top of that I have delivery fees to pay and material costs but I have to keep the pricing competitive.
if I reduce the ad spend I just lose views and sales

After purchasing something on Etsy that requires a download, I have been unable to log in for 3 days into the app as it requires the “code” which only arrives to my email hours later.
This is not type of app that requires this level of security!!
The experience is overall very very poor.

On two occasions I have placed an order with Etsy and received no communications from the seller no item or explanation . I have had to go through resolution to get a refund due to sellers closing there shop once the order has been placed . Absolute joke of a website.! Do not bother ordering from Etsy it’s a con 100%.
Deleted the app and won’t be wasting anymore of my time which such a poor platform.

I am locked out of an old account but for some reason on my phone when I buy anything from etsy it uses this old account. Etsy are unable to close it. So I have bought things that i have no access to. Also customer service doesn't even have a chat box and waiting days even for a reply. Its shocking! i would never trust to run a business from this site. terrible!!
Record profits for Etsy
Record profits for Etsy, higher fees for us.
It is unethical for a platform reporting over $300 million in profit to increase charges on its UK sellers to cover its own tax liabilities - the Digital Services Tax. Etsy was founded to support "the little guy," but they are now prioritising shareholders over the creative community.
Furthermore, they continue to charge their 6.5% transaction fee on postage costs. Taking a cut from delivery fees -money that merely covers the courier and provides zero profit to the seller - is blatant skimming.
By penalising the very makers who provide their value, Etsy is failing its moral obligation to be a fair partner. It’s time to move our business to platforms that value community and integrity over corporate extraction. It is no longer possible to recommend Etsy as an ethical choice for independent creators.

Etsy hide behind policies that are not fit for purpose for all occasions and protect their sellers rather than their buyers!
Told I could not get a refund for a ring that had a defective that transpired outside of the 30 day refund window because I had worn it! Was I just supposed to buy it and look at it on a table to see if it changed!
Absolutely stupidity and appalling customer service!!

Etsy has been flooded by scammers…
Etsy has been flooded by scammers recently, and whilst I have bought some lovely things there, I have to be very, VERY careful. I recently bought a chair, which had been reduced in price, and was supposedly being shipped from the US. The shop had only been open a few months, but claimed to have had lots of sales in that time. Having paid for it, I took a much closer look at the reviews etc, and decided that most likely, it would turn out to be a scam which it turned out to be - In fairness to Etsy, they emailed me before I could email them, and a refund was issued immediately. I don't want to put too much info on here about how I was able to tell it was a scam, because I believe the scammers themselves probably read these reviews and adjust their methods accordingly. For eg, my shop had one negative review, which only served to make it look more authentic. Do a deep dive into the seller, and what they are selling. I think they will often sell a few small items to get genuine reviews, before branching out into the scam, which in my case, was the higher value furniture. I've just had another look at etsy, and I can now, with what I know, see 100s of similar scams in operation. Be careful.
Dreadful
Dreadful. The last 4 items I have tried to order have either not turned up or arrived weeks later than purchased. Wont use this site again, complete waste of time.

yes we will take £25 off your sale in fees but when you have an issue we will use an AI robot which totally fails to address your issue. Useless company
Guinness & Prosecco Print
I recently bought an A4 print from Cherry Cow on the Etsy website. It was very reasonably priced and arrived on the agreed date as per my purchase confirmation. I am very happy with the quality of the print and would not hesitate in purchasing from both Cherry Cow and Etsy in the future.
Avoid Etsy – No Accountability and Non-Existent Customer Support
I am extremely disappointed with my experience on Etsy and would strongly advise others to proceed with caution.
I placed an order with an expected dispatch date clearly stated. That date passed with no update, no notification, and no item dispatched. I contacted the seller directly to request a simple update, which I believe is a reasonable expectation as a customer. Unfortunately, I received no response at all. Complete silence.
What made this situation significantly worse was Etsy’s handling of the issue. When I attempted to seek support, I discovered that you are effectively blocked from taking meaningful action for an extended period of time. You are forced to wait before you can even open a case, leaving you in a position where your money is taken and you have no immediate recourse. This delay is unacceptable for a platform operating at this scale.
There appears to be very little accountability for sellers who fail to meet basic service standards, and the lack of timely support from Etsy only reinforces this. As a customer, you are left feeling ignored and unprotected.
Overall, this has been one of the worst online purchasing experiences I have had. I will not be using Etsy again. If you are considering making a purchase, be aware that if something goes wrong, support is slow and limited, and you may be left waiting with no clear resolution.
Horrible experience!
The only explanation for such a shocking site is it must be run by scamers! I have been a seller for over 2 years and had a lot of grief with my listing's. All hand made by me and they continued to take listing's down saying they aren't mine when they are and I put a lot of effort into them.
Customer service is shocking, they dont support sellers at all! The fees are horrific I land up paying half of my earnings to them. Unless you generate AI patterns or steal other people's listing's there's no point being a seller here its a waste of time and money! Absolutely awful!
STAY AWAY AS A SELLER
Opened account, sold an item, was told I will need to wait 2 weeks to get paid... I'm now on my 3rd week and no money. Support is not answering. I was told I will get transferred to another advisor that will be able to help, waited 2 hours, chat disconnected. Closing my account after I get my money. STAY AWAY
Shocking service
Shocking service, faulty and late goods that the seller led me along for weeks and then Etsy did the same until the 100 day limit was reached and now no answer. Klarna final payment was stopped but also no answer from them in relation to their protection or refund.
Don't waste your time
Purchased an item on Etsy for the first (and last) time. Item was never sent. Seller had no care and Etsy refunded it without taking the money from the seller!?
Left a 1 star review for seller which never went on their profile so they are free to scam more people.
Absolute scam of a site .
Will never sell on here
Will never sell on here, customer scammed me out of 100s no support from Etsy . Awful platform and will be leaving asap
