Guidance made my task so much easier
I found your website by chance and I'm so glad I did. Your form was easy to follow and cleared up that I had to lodge a tax return. ATO telephone advice had been to fill in a 'non-lodgement' form based on the Disability Support Pension not being taxed. No recognition that PAYG tax had been withheld on withdrawal of a superannuation lump sum which does require a tax return as stated by the super fund. The prospect of a tax refund was also uplifting.

They just keep getting better!
I’ve been using eTax for years, and they honestly just keep getting better every time. Their website has improved so much — completing your tax return is now incredibly easy to follow. You simply fill in the blanks, read the helpful information prompts, and if you’re ever unsure, you can instantly chat with an accountant for clarification.
I love that you can upload all your documents directly, and they’re securely stored for future reference. It’s so convenient that previous years’ details are saved and much of your information is prefilled from last year. Even better, they automatically include your income statements the following year, ready to go — no chasing anything up!
The best part for me is that they handle the tricky Medicare questions and double-check everything for accuracy. I’m very thorough with my tax and usually spend a whole day preparing everything, but eTax still managed to find me an extra $700 in my refund this year! Absolutely amazing service — efficient, reliable, and always improving. Highly recommend!

Inconsistent / Poor Service
I am not very happy with the accountants on here. During my last return, I had added several deductions related to my rental property. This had gone through both the initial check and the senior accountant. I received my return and spent that money.
I had to lodge an amendment as I located several other bills and then the accountant had removed the tax deductions on my property saying that I wasn't entitled to them to which I then owed the ATO a little over a thousand dollars and not once apologised for their mistake and making out like it was my fault.
I thought I would give them one last chance. This time, I had given them a tally of my working from home hours in an CSV format (as I did not have an Excel licence), and after several days of back and forth, asking me what my total hours were, only then did they say that the date format was not correct and they couldn't convert the hours into a duration. I only then realised I could use Google Sheets to do it and did it in a flash, something I could have done to begin with but if they couldn't convert a time such as 7:36 into a duration they could sum up, they should have told me straight up and not wasted time, although I suspect that Excel can do this. I have been to in-person accountants where they are only too happy to get an excel document and tally up the hours, dollars, etc...
I don't think I will use etax accountants again.
