I am totally not happy with the job…

I am totally not happy with the job Mohammed and his team did for me. He used inferior materials. From the carpets to painting and worst of them all was the bathroom, there were gaps on the wall in the tiles even before usage, I mean before tenants moved into property. i noticed the bad job that he did. I invited him to see the faults but his defence was why didn't I mention this immediately after the job. The wiring connection in the kitchen was very poor. I had to pay another builder to redo what he has done. Finally he has a very good presentation that will make you to engage him but does a very poor quality of job. Even till date I am still fixing the damage that they did.

Absolutely awful experience

Absolutely awful experience. Appalling standard of work and appalling communication. Was told that work would commence "room by room" and that I "would absolutely be able to live here whilst the work is going on". In the end, every room was done at once, my possessions were trashed, and had to move out of my flat and rent elsewhere. Builders also used MY tools and ladders at points, without asking nor telling me. Came home one day and had no running water nor electricity without any warning. Whilst I totally understand that utilities have to be switched off at points during the process, it is simply unacceptable to not be informed when this is happening and to return home from work to no working utilities - especially since we were told that we "could absolutely live there" during the period.

The overall standard of work was awful - the same labourers were doing the plumbing, plastering and brickwork. Was rarely ever listened to and so routinely, things went wrong. Flooring was cut and laid in the wrong rooms, despite us instructing where it should be laid in the morning before they set to work laying it down. The flooring was then laid without any expansion gaps (expansion gaps are an absolute necessity for laminate and click-LVT). Had to fire the builders and then get in a new builder to amend the appalling work that was done. I have counted in excess of 200 cracks in the plastering that was done.

Still have not received electric certification (EIC) which we had requested to receive on completion of the new electrics.

New builders found the quality of work absolutely shocking as well - particularly, the plastering.

Thousands of pounds thrown down the drain.

Dear Charlie,

We were surprised to read your review, as it does not accurately reflect the course of work or our conduct throughout your project. We take pride in our professionalism and are disappointed by the mischaracterisation of our efforts.

To clarify:

1. **Work Sequence** – The works began in the living room as agreed. At your own request, flooring was postponed to align with the later kitchen installation, which delayed progress. Following your instructions, we continued work in other rooms. You later informed us of your decision to stay elsewhere during this phase.

2. **Use of Tools** – Our team is fully equipped. If your small ladder was used on a rare occasion, it was unintentional and we apologise for any misunderstanding. No other personal items were used.

3. **Utilities** – Temporary disconnection of power and water was necessary during electrical works for safety and compliance.

4. **Team Expertise** – Our builders are experienced and multi-skilled, qualified to handle a range of general construction tasks in line with industry standards.

5. **Project Scope** – The scope and direction of work changed several times at your request. Despite this, we remained flexible and worked hard to accommodate every adjustment.

6. **Project Discontinuation** – You discontinued our services when over 90% of the works were complete, citing flooring concerns which had not been raised here, though the flooring also was absolutely fine. Still all electrical works had been safely completed and certified.

7. **Decoration** – Following plastering/skimming, further filling and sanding were required before painting, which you had agreed to undertake. Nevertheless, we completed some wall finishes where possible.

We are committed to transparency and high-quality workmanship. It is unfortunate that you chose not to discuss your concerns directly with us before posting this review, as we would have been happy to resolve them professionally.

Kind regards,
M E Huda
