They get offended over small opinions

I told customer service that I did not like the clamps that were included with the coolant lines on the BMW S65 kit and they got super offended and told me to remove the kit and send it back. They also included a template made out of a grocery bag to cut out my air duct. After I purchased the kit, they listed the option to purchase the air duct right after which makes no sense. Whoever is running that side of the company is a total nut also claiming that I sent them 75+ emails is total BS. The first 15 emails were asking them questions about the kit because I'm about to spend a lot of money and I want to make sure I'm getting something I'm satisfied with. Please update your terms on your website so customers know they can't state their personal opinion on something as simple as coolant clamps or else the kit will need to be removed and sent back and support will no longer be available.

Definitely the worst kit I've ever…

Definitely the worst kit I've ever purchased.

- Parts received did not match advertised pictures or packing list. ESS stated that packing list was old & not updated.
- Stopped responding to emails. Only gave the option to return the kit or go with out any future support.
- Did not include the correct bypass valve, hoses or fittings.
- Supercharger did not fit on bracket properly, intercooler was missing heli-coils, hood strut crushes silicone hose, MAF extension or Barometric break out not included.
- Vehicle throws codes for Barometric sensor out of range.

I have no idea how they got this CARB certified, wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Complaint Regarding Poor Service and Unresolved Refund

Dear Ess tuning Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to bring to your attention a recent issue I experienced regarding my purchase and return process.

I previously purchased two items from your company and, after selling my vehicles, I contacted your team to request a discount on a new tune for my new car. I was informed that if I returned both cables, I would receive a discount on the new one. I followed those instructions, returned both cables, and purchased the new cable.

However, my payment was held for a week, and I was told it was pending clearance. When I reached out for an update, I was told that I was “too much” and that you could no longer do business with me. Additionally, my returned cables were never refunded or sent back to me.

This experience has been extremely disappointing and unprofessional. I would appreciate it if someone could review this matter and issue a resolution or refund for the returned cables as soon as possible.

Thank you for your time and understanding. I look forward to your prompt response.

Sincerely,
Derick C

Best superchargers ever

As a car lover, and as a naturally aspirated lover i really thank ESS so much, to give us the possibility to supercharge our cars. I'm not a fan of new twinturbos engines, NA's exhaust sound is unmatched.
ESS's superchargers keep the nature of the engine, at low rpms we can still cruise the car is so smooth, but in high rpms is a TOTAL different car. The superchargers take your car in a new level.

More than 2 years of wait before my supercharge was available, those SC are rare and make our cars rare too. Definitely worth every penny and all the wait.

The communication was so great with ESS, they always answered me and helped me, so thanks guys.

I supercharged my 645 and what a piece of art now, whatever car you own (m3 e92, mustang,....) definitely recommand it.

Worst ever

Worst ever. I bought a g1 supercharger from them and I upgraded after some days to g1+. I told them that it doesn’t make the boost they claim and if i go smaller pulley we can make that and to send me software for 9psi.
Their answer was:
I do not like the demanding tone here though, how about I end all your support and you go f…. yourself instead?
They have no manners and they will soon loose it for sure.
I will post in every forum Audi/Bmw to notify people and avoid them. They dont deserve it.

Hans and AJ are the best

Bought the g1 supercharger system for my n52 330i through a company in the UK. Have also bought a smaller pulley through ess directly and i am amazed at the quality of the products. Im only 20 and this is my first time ever doing something like this, i am handy and the whole install time took 10 hours. Instructions were great and the customer service is ridiculously fast, i’ve never seen anything like it. Both Hans and AJ are absolutely brilliant for any help i needed asking a bunch of questions and being a pain. I’ve found a lot of great companies but theses guys are on top!

Don't Waste you $$$ on ESS BMW E63/64 SMG Trans Tune.

I purchased an ESS Transmission tune for my 2007 BMW M6 about a year ago. They're Ad reads, "Optimized SMG transmission software. Increases shift firmness in S4/5/6 and increases launch control RPM to 4100RPM on US spec M5/M6's."
Flashing the new software to the transmission was easy enough once they sent me the correct windows 10 driver. But since then I've had the SMG transmission software returned to stock twice by the BMW dealership. Once when they replaced the clutch and once when they replaced the the driveshaft position sensor. Both times I re-flashed the Transmission with the ESS Software and after running laps on the car before and after, as hard as I've tried, I honestly CANNOT tell the difference between one or the other. ESS's software does change the launch RPM's to 4100, but it seems kinda stupid to shell out almost $600, when you can make the same change by downloading WinKFP for free and springing for a $15 obo cable on ebay.
If you own a BMW E63/64, with an SMG transmission, I do NOT recommend this upgrade.

Terrible

Terrible communication, acting like children on an ego trip. Don't you dare tell them wrong, or even make simple requests. They will tell you how they are right and they can choose who they want to do business with.
I'm only rating the communication and customer service here, the hardware and tunes are otherwise great.

I’ve been running ess NA tunes on all…

I’ve been running ess NA tunes on all my cars and customers cars.
Never any issues. Great support from Aj and sometimes Hans in Norway.
Ran one of the first VT2 kits on my e90 m3 back in 2008 and I was blown away by the performance.
Moved up the rank to a VT3 platform and with Ajs help we were able to make serious power 785whp which I believe still the record on a 4.0 engine and shy of 15 psi.
Parted out my e90 and thought about selling it or trading for the newer platform but I couldn’t walk away from the s65 v8.
So I picked up an e60 m5. It was tuned by ess in no time and it was only a matter of time till I decided I should supercharge both the e90 and e60.
I received my 2 new kits from Ess.
Love how everything fits like a glove and I have to say, it’s amazing how these cars run better than stock with a blower.
I’ve seen plenty of supercharger kits and what’s required to fit them and all the fab work required. Very impressed by the ess product.

AWESOME, best desision i have made on this car

I purchased my Supercharger kit for my 2012 M3, and I cant say enough about how much I love the car now, not that it wasn't good before but the ESS kit fits perfect almost like a OEM add on , instructions where super easy even for me, and anything I didn't understand I just email them and they helped no problem. I did go with the 625 kit and its everything I wanted. Much higher quality kit than anything else I have seen on the market.

ESSTUNING quality control is getting low and they don't care about their customers anymore

I’m writing this as Esstuning used to have good quality control with good customer support but unfortunately that is not the case anymore. Here are the parts I bought from Esstuning in the last couple of years. E46 M3 Vt2-525 supercharger kit, E93 M3 Ecu tune, E93 M3 underdrive pulley kit, E93 M3 test pipes, E93 M3 Vt2-625 Supercharger kit.

My main problem with Esstuning started with VT2-625 supercharger kit for my E93 M3 when I purchased it and chose the option of the 7 Rib belt upgrade kit.

1) The kit was shipped to me missing the 7 rib belt upgrade option although I emailed them to make sure they don’t forget it and advised that I purchased the upgrade option. The upgrade option was shipped after I emailed them that it was missing.

2) After disassembling the car and starting to install the kit , I found out that they sent the wrong set of bolts that hold the supercharger bracket to the engine and the wrong set of bolts that hold the supercharger to the bracket, although before starting installation I emailed them to ask them about something in the kit and Mr.Asbjorn assured me that the kit contains everything for installation and to install the kit. After emailing them and I was extremely frustrated as the car was disassembled and I couldn’t complete the installation, they didn’t even apologize for this mistake and just told me “can you source the bolts locally (will refund you the bolts price!!!) or you want us to send you the right bolts”, I requested them to send the right bolts.

3) After installing the kit and going for the break in period , I heard a sound in the engine bay and went to check the engine bay to find that one of the idler pulleys supplied by them flew in my engine bay and luckily it didn’t damage the engine or other parts in the car when it flew in the engine bay , the idler pulley is two parts one metal part and the other part is the bearing, when they have put them together , they forgot to put the locking ring on both idler pulleys, at that incident I called Norway office and Mr.Hans advised that they can either send me new pulleys or I can return the kit but I have to talk to USA office as I purchased the kit from them , at that day I called Mr.Asbjorn in USA and he advised that they have a new staff member called Mike and he is the one responsible for all the mistakes that happened starting from sending the kit missing parts, the wrong bolt kit and ending with the pulley flying in the engine bay as he forgot to put the lock rings on both pulleys!!!! and also he advised that it is because this is a Gen 2 kit and its a new model and better than the old Gen 1 kit.

4) I had performance issues after all was installed and emailed them a couple of times , and called Mr.Hans and he advised me to make a boost leak test and I did and found a leak and fixed it but unfortunately after that I still had performance issues specially in third gear from the 5000 to 6500 RPM , I bought Bmw logger and logged the car and emailed them logs showing that the ignition is fluctuating in this area and asked them if it can be the tune but most of what Mr.Asbjorn was saying is that they sold more than 1800 units and they all perform good so the problem is in my car, I told them please check the logs and advise if I can check anything , they told me to change spark plugs again although the spark plugs were almost new and try new ignition coils, so I bought 8 new spark plugs and installed it and I bought 4 new ignition coils that I tried on both banks but problem still persisted , after that they advised me to put racing fuel and I bought ignite 114 racing fuel and have put 10% racing fuel on 98ron fuel and that also didn’t help, I called Mr.Asbjorn and I was explaining to him the problem he said ” I’m talking so either you listen or I’ll hang up”!!!!!!. Please be advised that this was only my second phone call with him and the first one was regarding their mistake when they supplied pulleys without the lock rings which could have made massive damage to my engine. He told me your car is modified from DCT to manual so we give zero support to any modified car although my car ran perfectly in track before the kit installation without any errors or any problems and here is a link for the car in Yas Marina circuit competing in time attack challenge ((

)), finally He then told me put 50% ignite 114 racing fuel on 50% 98 RON fuel to test and this made my car perform extremely bad and got even a vanos error at that time.

Anyway I have dealt with esstuning for several years and I really can’t imagine how they have reached this level of low quality control and uncaring for their customers, they just want to sell the kits and not help their customers specially Mr.Asbjorn in USA , all what Mr.Asbjorn was interested to say is that he sold more than 1800 units and the problem is in my car and since it is modified from DCT to Manual so they give zero support according to their terms and conditions, maybe the performance issue is caused from my car but at least I expected them to try and help me throughout the problem and check the logs that show the problem and at least respect me when they are talking to me.

The amount of mistakes and defected parts they sent at the beginning costed me a lot of money and time and maybe the performance issue is from my car but at least they should respect their customers and talk to them in a better way. Mr.Hans tried to help and was respectful but on the other side in the USA office Mr.Asbjorn was completely unprofessional.
