Easy way to save money

Easy way to save around £1.20 on every tank - easy to set up and use and money gets taken from the linked card a few days later with a receipt sent via email. Really easy and works very well!

A Deeply Disappointing Experience with Esso Card / WEX

I have been a customer of the Esso Card (WEX fuel card) for some time, but my overall experience has been extremely disappointing.

From the beginning, I used the card very little, mainly because it simply wasn’t competitive compared to other fuel cards like Tamoil and Q8. Top-ups with credit card were not free, there were no meaningful incentives or discounts linked to the amount loaded, and in my area the Esso fuel price was often higher than at other stations. In short, it was a card I kept only for emergencies, when there was no other option to avoid running out of fuel.

Despite this limited usage, I was repeatedly contacted by phone and email by their agents with insistently repeated requests for feedback. I gave my feedback several times, always saying more or less the same things:
• make credit card top-ups free, as competitors do;
• introduce real discounts based on the amount topped up, like Tamoil and Q8;
• create a simple, dedicated app to manage the card;
• stop investing in pushy sales calls that add no value and instead improve the actual conditions of the service.

However, I never had the impression that my feedback (or that of other customers) was really taken into account. The same questions kept coming back, as if nobody had read or understood my answers.

Then, quite suddenly, I received a communication that my cards would be cancelled due to inactivity. When I tried to log in to the platform to check my account and any remaining balance, I couldn’t access it. The password reset function did not work (no email ever arrived), and when I wrote to customer service I received no reply at all.

In conclusion, my experience with the Esso Card / WEX service has been a total disappointment: an uncompetitive product, intrusive and repetitive contact from agents, ignored feedback, poor digital tools and, finally, unilateral card cancellation followed by technical issues and zero customer support. Based on this, I cannot recommend this service.

Confused, embarrassed and out of pocket!

I have a Blue Light Esso card and was embarrassed on Tue 1st Aug that it was rejected twice at the till. With a large queue the attendant told me it was due to non payment of a bill. I phoned Esso card when I got home who confirmed I had paid well on time but they would pass me to Blue Light who were busy aypt that time but promissed a callback. No call back so I put a ticket in on Wednesday and no answer so then emailed customer service still no answer. The Blue Light card is an excellent card but customer service sadly lacking. I am out of pocket, embarrassed but most of all disappointed.

Even more confused by response from Blue Light! Who told me that they don't deal with issues on Esso Card, completely opposite to whst I was told. When I spoke to Esso Card on the phone the lady told me she couldn't desk with Blue Light Esso Card issues and as they were busy would get them to call me back.

Have made it easy cancelled Esso Card as even with discount the most expensive petrol locally.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. Lots of hidden charges and monthly fees not clearly stated.

I had to cancel the card today because I've realised in the last 12 months I've been charged more than £250 in admin fees (for buying their fuel!)

A legalised scam
